This paper describes a straightforward and rapid on-line characterization using high-performance liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC/ESI-MS(n)) of the enzymatic degradation products of 2,2'-bis(2-oxazoline)-linked poly-epsilon-caprolactone (PCL-O). These new PCL-O polymers are expected to be used in a variety of pharmaceutical and biomedical applications since they are degraded enzymatically by surface erosion. PCL-O was polymerized in a three-step reaction and characterized by (1)H-NMR and size-exclusion chromatography (SEC). Solvent cast polymer films were exposed to enzymatic degradation in phosphate buffer (pH 7.5, 1% pancreatin). The enzymatic degradation of the polymer produced a wide variety of water-soluble oligomers which were separated and identified by HPLC/ESI-MS(n). Optimization of the gradient HPLC method resulted in effective separation of the oligomers. Furthermore, specific structures of the oligomers were clearly identified by tandem mass spectrometry. According to these results, ester bonds seem to be most sensitive to enzymatic degradation and, correspondingly, pancreatic lipase seems to be mainly responsible for the enzymatic erosion of the PCL-O films. This novel mass spectrometric method provides important knowledge about the enzymatic degradation process and structure of the polymer which is difficult to ascertain by other conventional methods. 相似文献

A series of mono- and binuclear ruthenium(II) tris-bipyridine complexes tethered to oligothienylenevinylenes have been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and TOF-MS spectrometry. Photophysics, electrochemistry and electrogenerated chemiluminescence (ECL) properties of these complexes are investigated. The electronic absorption spectra of the mononuclear ruthenium complexes show a significant red shift both at MLCT (metal-to-ligand charge transfer) and π-π∗ transitions of oligothienylenevinylenes with increase in the number of thiophenyl-2-yl-vinyl unit. For the binuclear complexes these two absorption bands are overlapped. All the metal complexes have very weak emission compared to that of the reference complex Ru(bpy)2+3. The first reduction potentials of all mononuclear ruthenium complexes are less negative than that of Ru(bpy)2+3, due to the moderate electron-withdrawing effect of oligothienylenevinylenes. For binuclear ruthenium complexes, only one Ru(II/III) oxidation peak (E1/2 = 0.96 V vs. Ag/Ag+) was observed, suggesting a weak interaction between two metal centers. Three successive reduction processes of bipyridine ligands are similar among all ruthenium complexes except for RuTRu, which has a very sharp peak owing to the accumulation of neutral product on the electrode surface. All these ruthenium complexes exhibited different ECL property in CH3CN solution without any additional reductant or oxidant. For three mononuclear ruthenium complexes, the ECL intensity strengthens with increase in the number of thiophene-2-yl-vinyl unit. However, the ECL efficiency dramatically decreased in the binuclear ruthenium complexes. The ECL efficiencies of all the reported complexes do not exceed that of Ru(bpy)2+3, where the ECL efficiency decreases in the order of RuTRu > Ru3T > Ru2T > RuT > Ru2TRu (RuT,bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-(2-thienylethenyl)-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; Ru2T, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-{(E)-2-[5-((E)-2-thienylethenyl)-thienylethenyl]}-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; Ru3T, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-(4-methyl-4′-{(E)-2-{(E)-2-[5-((E)-2-thienylethenyl)-thienylethenyl]}}-2,2′-bipyridine) ruthenium dihexafluorophosphate; RuTRu, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium-bis-[2-((E)-4′-methyl-2, 2′-bipyridinyl-4)-ethenyl]-thienyl-bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium tetrahexafluorophosphate; Ru2TRu, bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium-(E)-1,2-bis-{2-[2-((E)-4′-methyl-2,2′-bipyridinyl-4)-ethenyl]-thienyl}-ethenyl-bis-2,2′-bipyridyl-ruthenium tetrahexafluorophosphate). 相似文献

Phenolic prepreg waste as functional filler with antioxidant effect in polypropylene and polyamide-6
Milled phenol-formaldehyde glass-fibre scrap (prepreg) was mixed with polypropylene (PP) and polyamide-6 (PA6). The oxidation induction time (OIT) of PP/prepreg composite measured by both chemiluminescence (CL) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was significantly longer than the oxidation induction time of unstabilised base PP. In addition, mechanical testing showed that the prepreg filler stabilised both PP and PA6 towards oxidation during long-term accelerated ageing. Headspace-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (HS-GC/MS) showed that PP/prepreg composites emit somewhat larger amounts of volatile compounds compared to the reference PP/glass fibre composites, while the amount of volatile components emitted from PA6/prepreg composites was similar to the reference PA6/glass fibre composites. The new prepreg composites could have potential in thermally demanding applications especially if a secondary phosphite stabiliser is added to further increase the oxidative stability through synergy effects. 相似文献

In a Data Envelopment Analysis model, some of the weights used to compute the efficiency of a unit can have zero or negligible value despite of the importance of the corresponding input or output. This paper offers an approach to preventing inputs and outputs from being ignored in the DEA assessment under the multiple input and output VRS environment, building on an approach introduced in Allen and Thanassoulis (2004) for single input multiple output CRS cases. The proposed method is based on the idea of introducing unobserved DMUs created by adjusting input and output levels of certain observed relatively efficient DMUs, in a manner which reflects a combination of technical information and the decision maker’s value judgements. In contrast to many alternative techniques used to constrain weights and/or improve envelopment in DEA, this approach allows one to impose local information on production trade-offs, which are in line with the general VRS technology. Pyrolysis-GC-MS of polylactide (PLA) biocomposites before and after hydrolytic degradation revealed prominent differences in the hydrolytic degradation process of rice bran and wood flour filled biocomposites. The water uptake and mass loss for polylactide/wood flour composites were similar to that of plain PLA. Pyrolysis-GC-MS, however, showed that on prolonged ageing the hydrolysis of PLA led to increased wood flour concentration in the remaining biocomposite matrices. In contrast, the polylactide/rice bran composites exhibited larger water uptake and higher mass loss. Pyrolysis-GC-MS and FTIR analysis proved that the higher mass loss was caused by migration of rice bran from the composites. The type of natural filler could thus greatly influence the degradation process and/or the stability of the materials in aqueous or humid environments. 相似文献

Three sub‐10 nm platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) with distinctive morphologies were developed by using cucurbit[6]uril (CB[6]) as stabilizing agent and support. Both the size and shape of the PtNPs were simultaneously controlled by tuning the reducing agents. The prepared NPs have been comprehensively characterized by X‐ray diffraction, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and cyclic voltammetry. On account of the presence of CB[6] and its unique structural features, the as‐prepared PtNPs are homogeneous in morphologies and exhibit higher activities toward methanol electrooxidation than commercial Pt/C. CB[6] has the ability to bind small molecules that can promote CO oxidation, therefore, all the three PtNPs showed enhanced poisoning tolerance. Such unique abilities of CB[6] can even promote the poisoning tolerance of commercial Pt/C through simple physical mixing. 相似文献

The use of iron-containing metal surfaces, Fe, Fe-Cr-alloy and stainless steel, for the synthesis of mixed metal Ru-Fe compounds has been studied. The studied process was reductive carbonylation of RuCl3 in the presence of a metal surface. Reactions were carried out in ethanol solutions under 10-50 bar carbon monoxide pressure at 125 degrees C using an autoclave. During the reaction the metal surface was oxidized, releasing iron into the solution and acting as a sacrificial source of iron. Under these conditions the corrosion of the metal surface was facile and produced a series of iron-containing species. In addition to the formation of most obvious iron(II) products, such as [Fe(H2O)6]2+ or [FeCl2(H2O)4] the use of the metal surface also provided a route to novel labile trinuclear [Ru2Cl2(mu-Cl)4(CO)6FeL2] (L = H2O, EtOH) complexes. The stability and reactivity of the [Ru2Cl2(mu-Cl)4(CO)6FeL2] complexes were further studied using computational DFT methods. Based on the computational results a reaction route has been suggested for the formation and decomposition of [Ru2Cl2(mu-Cl)4(CO)6FeL2]. 相似文献
