Abstract
Twelve N-(3- and 4-substituted phenyl)-O-isobutyl thionocarbamates, eight of which are novel, were synthesized from O-isobutyl xanthate and 3- and 4-substituted anilines in the presence of a nano-platinum aminophenyl modified multi-walled carbon nanotube catalyst. The nano-Pt catalyst was prepared on a carbon nanotube support modified by diazotization, nitro group reduction, and subsequent microwave-assisted nano-Pt precipitation. The catalyst was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and transmission electron microscopy. The nano-platinum/modified carbon nanotube catalyst was compared with a commercial Pt/active carbon catalyst in terms of product purity and yield. The results obtained by the use of the catalysts were additionally compared with those obtained by reaction of sodium isobutyl xanthogenacetate and 3- and 4-substituted anilines. Full structure characterization of the synthesized N-(substituted phenyl)-O-isobutyl thionocarbamates was achieved using FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR, and mass spectrometric methods, and their purity was proved by elemental analysis and gas chromatography. The new catalytic method offers advantages over the commercial method, such as higher yields and no product purification is required, thus conforming to the principles of ecologically friendly syntheses. 相似文献22.
We report what we believe is the first observation of modulation instability in the anomalous-diffraction regions of a photonic lattice. The experiments were carried out in a 1D waveguide array fabricated in a lithium niobate crystal displaying the photovoltaic self-defocusing nonlinearity, and our results are confirmed numerically by simulating the nonlinear beam propagation. 相似文献

As the world population grows and new environmental, sustainability, and security challenges emerge, it becomes critical to consider and propose solutions for problems at the nexus of Food, Water, and Energy (FEW). These three are key resources critical for the human health and welfare. Managing effectively the FEW resources in the context of farming, while focusing on lactation cattle, is the theme of this work. The solutions presented here are based on nano-sensing and catalysis. Novel gas sensing technologies are described that can monitor the health of the livestock, monitor the feed conversion efficiency in their feed, and help reduce the water footprint related to the production of animal products (such as milk). Water quality control and water clean-up technologies along with energy harvesting tools based on nanofibrous mats are also presented; these help reduce the carbon footprint of the farming processes. Implementing these integrated systems in any agricultural facility will promote the sustainable production of meat and meat products. 相似文献

We give two sided estimates of the norm of Cauchy transform on Lp(Ω)(1 ≤ p < ∞) in the case when Ω is the unit disc or the bounded simply connected domain with piecewise C1 boundary. In this paper the authors discuss necessary and sufficient coefficient conditions for f ∈ A of the form $$\left( {\frac{z} {{f(z)}}} \right)^\mu = 1 + b_1 z + b_2 z^2 + \ldots$$ to be starlike in $\mathbb{D}$ and more generally, starlike of some order β, 0 ≤ β < 1. Here µ is a suitable complex number so that the right hand side expression is analytic in $\mathbb{D}$ and the power is chosen to be the principal power. We report on low-order harmonic generation utilising the plasmonic field enhancement in arrays of rod-type gold optical antennae. Furthermore, we examine their suitability to support high-order harmonic generation (HHG). The low-order harmonics are used as a tool to investigate the nonlinear properties of the antennae. Particular attention is paid to the thermal properties, which become significant at the peak intensities necessary for HHG. A theoretical model explains the experimental findings and enables future improvements. In experiments we observe up to the fifth harmonic order and measure a field enhancement sufficient to support high-order harmonic generation. Moreover, we find a damage threshold for the antennae. 相似文献

We demonstrate the existence of nonlinear Tamm oscillations at the interface between a substrate and a one-dimensional waveguide array with either cubic or saturable, self-focusing or self-defocusing nonlinearity. Light is trapped in the vicinity of the array boundary due to the interplay between the repulsive edge potential and Bragg reflection inside the array. In the special case when this potential is linear these oscillations reduce themselves to surface Bloch oscillations. 相似文献
