The experiment is proposed which should demonstrate that if the filter providing the spectral selection is placed in the route of one photon of the entangled pair produced by spontaneous down-conversion and the photon is detected behind it then the interference appears in the (distant) Mach-Zehnder interferometer placed in the route of the other photon of the pair even if the optical path difference through the interferometer greatly exceeds the coherence length of the light and if the spectra of these two photons do not overlap. Toxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticle (ZnO-NPs) powder and water soluble salt of Zn (ZnCl2) to the annelid Enchytraeus crypticus was tested in agarose gel. Influence of the spiking method on the resulting size of nanoparticles and on E. crypticus mortality was studied. Two methods of ZnO-NPs powder (mean particle size diameter of 10 nm) introduction into the exposure media were used. In the first method, the nano-powder was initially cryogenically ground with dry agar followed by an addition of water. The second procedure began with re-suspension of nanoparticles in demineralized water containing a dispersant (sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate). The obtained colloid was subsequently mixed with hot agar gel. Relative mortality in worms observed after 96 h of their exposure to the ZnO-NPs concentrations (all in mg of ZnO-NPs per kg of agar) of 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 in the cryogenically ground medium ranged between 28.9 % and 34.4 % and it did not exhibit any concentration dependence. When the second method of exposure media preparation was applied, the relative mortality ranged from 0 % to 66.6 % in the same concentration region depending on the concentration. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed the presence of large agglomerates (1–10 µm in diameter) in the media prepared by cryogenic grinding with the highest concentration of ZnO-NPs. Neither the cryogenically ground media with lower ZnO-NPs concentrations nor any media prepared from colloidal solutions contained agglomerates exceeding 100 nm, detectable by SEM. Hydrodynamic diameters of particles in the colloids used in the second method of agar preparation were measured using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and ranged between 164 nm and 240 nm. The observed toxicity was thus clearly dependent on the size of ZnO-NPs agglomerates and the technique of exposure media preparation. Experimentally detected LC50 value for dissolved Zn2+ was 37.2 mg kg?1 in agar. The same concentration of Zn induced an approximately 30 % mortality of E. crypticus when administered in form of cryogenically ground ZnO-NPs with agar. No observable effects were found at this ZnO-NPs concentration when the exposure medium was prepared from the colloid solution.  相似文献

We present the experimental realization of optimal symmetric and asymmetric phase-covariant 1-->2 cloning of qubit states using fiber optics. The state of each qubit is encoded into a single photon which can propagate through two optical fibers. The operation of our device is based on one- and two-photon interference. We have demonstrated the creation of two copies for a wide range of qubit states from the equator of the Bloch sphere. The measured fidelities of both copies are close to the theoretical values and they surpass the theoretical maximum obtainable with the universal cloner.  相似文献

We introduce a new measure for capital market efficiency. The measure takes into consideration the correlation structure of the returns (long-term and short-term memory) and local herding behavior (fractal dimension). The efficiency measure is taken as a distance from an ideal efficient market situation. The proposed methodology is applied to a portfolio of 41 stock indices. We find that the Japanese NIKKEI is the most efficient market. From a geographical point of view, the more efficient markets are dominated by the European stock indices and the less efficient markets cover mainly Latin America, Asia and Oceania. The inefficiency is mainly driven by a local herding, i.e. a low fractal dimension.  相似文献

N-site-lattice Hamiltonians H (N) are introduced and perceived as a set of systematic discrete approximants of a certain $\mathcal {PT}$ -symmetric square-well-potential model with the real spectrum and with a non-Hermiticity which is localized near the boundaries of the interval. Its strength is controlled by one, two or three parameters. The problem of the explicit construction of a nontrivial metric which makes the theory unitary is then addressed. It is proposed and demonstrated that due to the not too complicated (viz., tridiagonal matrix) form of our input Hamiltonians, the computation of the metric is straightforward and that its matrix elements prove obtainable, non-numerically, in elementary polynomial forms.  相似文献

The photodynamic properties of a series of non-halogenated, dibrominated and diiodinated BODIPYs with a phthalimido or amino end modification on the phenoxypentyl and phenoxyoctyl linker in the meso position were investigated. Halogen substitution substantially increased the singlet oxygen production based on the heavy atom effect. This increase was accompanied by a higher photodynamic activity against skin melanoma cancer cells SK-MEL-28, with the best compound reaching an EC50 = 0.052 ± 0.01 µM upon light activation. The dark toxicity (toxicity without light activation) of all studied dyes was not detected up to the solubility limit in cell culture medium (10 µM). All studied BODIPY derivatives were predominantly found in adiposomes (lipid droplets) with further lower signals colocalized in either endolysosomal vesicles or the endoplasmic reticulum. A detailed investigation of cell death indicated that the compounds act primarily through the induction of apoptosis. In conclusion, halogenation in the 2,6 position of BODIPY dyes is crucial for the efficient photodynamic activity of these photosensitizers.  相似文献
