Quinonediimine‐Induced Oxidative Coupling of Organomagnesium Reagents

N,N′‐Diphenyl‐p‐benzoquinonediimine, a redox‐active unit of polyaniline, efficiently induced the oxidative homocoupling of various aryl‐ and vinylmagnesium reagents in suppressing the side reactions, such as 1,2‐ or 1,4‐addition reaction.     

Propane‐1,2‐diols from Dilactides,Oligolactides, or Poly‐L‐lactic Acid (PLLA): From Plastic Waste to Chiral Bulk Chemicals

The preparation of racemic or enantioenriched propane‐1,2‐diol from dilactides, oligolactides, or poly‐L ‐lactic acid (PLLA) is described. The transformation is carried out as tandem reactions in MeOH, covering hydrolysis and subsequent hydrogenation by using copper chromite as a catalyst. The starting material present undesired side products of the PLLA synthesis or PLLA waste.     

High‐Yield Formation of Substituted Tetracyanobutadienes from Reaction of Ynamides with Tetracyanoethylene

A high‐yielding sequence of [2+2] cycloaddition–retroelectrocyclization of ynamides with tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) is described. The reaction provided tetracyanobutadiene (TCBD) species, which were characterized by various techniques. DFT and TD‐DFT calculations were also performed to complement experimental findings.     

Platinum Complexes Containing Pyramidalized Germanium and Tin Dihalide Ligands Bound through σ,σ ME Multiple Bonds

We present the isolation of the first mononuclear dihalogermylene, and mono‐ and dinuclear stannylene complexes of transition metals. These exhibit exceptionally pyramidalized Group 14 centers. Additionally, removal of the halide substituents from the Ge/Sn atom was successfully performed in two ways, halide abstraction and reduction, leading to a variety of unusual structural motifs.
