We analyze the response of an ensemble of 1s-excitons driven by a femtosecond optical pulse, beyond traditional “slowly varying amplitudes” approach. In the framework of the continuous-discrete cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau model, spatiotemporal dissipative solitons which are highly confined inside two-dimensional photonic lattices are found numerically. The domains of existence in the relevant parameter space, of in-phase (unstaggered) on-site (single-peaked), inter-site (double-peaked), and flat-top-like (four-peaked) spatiotemporal dissipative solitons are determined. We show that the on-site solitons are stable in the whole domain of their existence and we find the stability domains of both inter-site and flat-top-like solitons. We describe the complex instability-induced scenarios of the dynamics of spatiotemporal discrete Ginzburg-Landau solitons in two-dimensional photonic lattices.  相似文献

We discover that, at the edge of an optical lattice imprinted in a saturable nonlinear medium, one-dimensional surface solitons exist only within a band of light intensities and that they cease to exist when the lattice depth exceeds an upper threshold. We also reveal the generation of arrays of two-dimensional surface solitons mediated by the transverse modulational instability of one-dimensional solitons, a process that is found to exhibit specific features associated to properties of the optical lattice.  相似文献

We show that multipole solitons can be made stable via vectorial coupling in bulk nonlocal nonlinear media. Such vector solitons are composed of mutually incoherent nodeless and multipole components jointly inducing a nonlinear refractive index profile. We found that stabilization of the otherwise highly unstable multipoles occurs below certain maximum energy flow. Such a threshold is determined by the nonlocality degree.  相似文献

In this letter, we obtain families of semi-rational solutions termed lump-soliton solutions to the Fokas system by using the Hirota's bilinear method combined with the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy reduction method. These exact semi-rational solutions illustrate the collision of lumps and dark-line solitons. Two different types of evolution scenarios occur: (a) fusion of lumps and dark-line solitons into dark-line solitons, and (b) fission of dark-line solitons into lumps and dark-line solitons. In these distinct evolution processes, the lumps would get either created or annihilated by the dark-line solitons.  相似文献

We report systematic results of collisions between discrete spatiotemporal optical solitons in two-dimensional photonic lattices. We show that the outcomes of collisions strongly depend on the initial soliton parameters, such as their input amplitudes (energies) and their transverse velocities. Four generic outcomes are identified in the study of collisions between discrete light bullets located in the corner, at the edge, and in the center of the photonic lattice: (a) merger of both low and high amplitude solitons into a single one, at small values of the kick parameter (soliton transverse velocity), (b) spreading of low amplitude solitons at intermediate values of the kick parameter, (c) bouncing of high amplitude solitons at intermediate values of the kick parameter, which is accompanied by a sharp modification of input soliton transverse velocities, and (d) quasi-elastic (symmetric) interactions of both low and high amplitude solitons at large values of the kick parameter.  相似文献
