Z4-Kerdock Codes, Orthogonal Spreads, and Extremal Euclidean Line-Sets   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
When m is odd, spreads in an orthogonal vector space of type+(2m + 2,2) are related to binary Kerdock codes and extremalline-sets in 2m + 1 with prescribed angles. Spreads in a 2m-dimensionalbinary symplectic vector space are related to Kerdock codesover Z4 and extremal line-sets in with prescribed angles. These connections involve binary, realand complex geometry associated with extraspecial 2-groups.A geometric map from symplectic to orthogonal spreads is shownto induce the Gray map from a corresponding Z4-Kerdock codeto its binary image. These geometric considerations lead tothe construction, for any odd composite m, of large numbersof Z4-Kerdock codes. We consider the nonlinear eigenvalue problem M(λ)x = 0, where M(λ) is a large parameter‐dependent matrix. In several applications, M(λ) has a structure where the higher‐order terms of its Taylor expansion have a particular low‐rank structure. We propose a new Arnoldi‐based algorithm that can exploit this structure. More precisely, the proposed algorithm is equivalent to Arnoldi's method applied to an operator whose reciprocal eigenvalues are solutions to the nonlinear eigenvalue problem. The iterates in the algorithm are functions represented in a particular structured vector‐valued polynomial basis similar to the construction in the infinite Arnoldi method [Jarlebring, Michiels, and Meerbergen, Numer. Math., 122 (2012), pp. 169–195]. In this paper, the low‐rank structure is exploited by applying an additional operator and by using a more compact representation of the functions. This reduces the computational cost associated with orthogonalization, as well as the required memory resources. The structure exploitation also provides a natural way in carrying out implicit restarting and locking without the need to impose structure in every restart. Internal transport barriers have been demonstrated to exist also under conditions with T(e) approximately T(i) approximately 10 keV and predominant electron heating of the tokamak core region. Central electron cyclotron heating was added to neutral beam injection-heated ASDEX Upgrade discharges with a preexisting internal transport barrier, established through programmed current ramping leading to shear reversal. Compared to a reference internal transport barrier discharge without electron cyclotron resonance heating, the electron heat conductivity in the barrier region was found not to increase, in spite of a fivefold increase in electron heat flux, and also angular momentum and ion energy transport did not deteriorate.  相似文献

This paper will review the dramatic increase in our knowledge of one and two proton unbound nuclei [1] such as recoil decay tagging [2] are revealing unique insights into the structure of nuclei beyond the proton drip-line. These studies of excited states provide complementary information to proton radioactivity studies, particularly regarding the role of deformation [3]. Radioactive beams are being used to study two-proton unbound resonances and to study explosive nuclear astrophysical reactions in the region of the proton drip-line.  相似文献

Because cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is the biofluid which interacts most closely with the central nervous system, it holds promise as a reporter of neurological disease, for example multiple sclerosis (MScl). To characterize the metabolomics profile of neuroinflammatory aspects of this disease we studied an animal model of MScl-experimental autoimmune/allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE). Because CSF also exchanges metabolites with blood via the blood-brain barrier, malfunctions occurring in the CNS may be reflected in the biochemical composition of blood plasma. The combination of blood plasma and CSF provides more complete information about the disease. Both biofluids can be studied by use of NMR spectroscopy. It is then necessary to perform combined analysis of the two different datasets. Mid-level data fusion was therefore applied to blood plasma and CSF datasets. First, relevant information was extracted from each biofluid dataset by use of linear support vector machine recursive feature elimination. The selected variables from each dataset were concatenated for joint analysis by partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA). The combined metabolomics information from plasma and CSF enables more efficient and reliable discrimination of the onset of EAE. Second, we introduced hierarchical models fusion, in which previously developed PLS-DA models are hierarchically combined. We show that this approach enables neuroinflamed rats (even on the day of onset) to be distinguished from either healthy or peripherally inflamed rats. Moreover, progression of EAE can be investigated because the model separates the onset and peak of the disease.  相似文献
