The O2–N2 and O2–Ar negative-ion chemical ionization mass spectra of aromatic amines show a series of unusual ions dominated by an addition appearing at [M + 14]. Other ions are observed at [M – 12], [M + 5], [M + 12], [M + 28] and [M + 30]. Ion formation was studied using a quadrupole instrument equipped with a conventional chemical ionization source and a Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometer. These studies, which included the examination of ion chromatograms, measurement of positive-ion chemical ionization mass spectra, variation of ion source temperature and pressure and experiments with 18O2, indicate that the [M + 14] ion is formed by the electron-capture ionization of analytes altered by surfaceassisted reactions involving oxygen. This conversion is also observed under low-pressure conditions following source pretreatment with O2. Experiments with [15N]aniline, [2,3,4,5,6-2H5] aniline and [13C6]aniline show that the [M + 14] ion corresponds to [M + O ? 2H], resulting from conversion of the amino group to a nitroso group. Additional ions in the spectra of aromatic amines also result from surface-assisted oxidation reactions, including oxidation of the amino group to a nitro group, oxidation and cleavage of the aromatic ring and, at higher analyte concentrations, intermolecular oxidation reactions.  相似文献

[graph: see text] High-level ab initio calculations indicate that *CH3 addition to the sulfur center of S=P(Z)(Z')SCH3 (Z,Z' = CH3, CN, OCH3, Ph) is considerably less exothermic than addition to the corresponding RAFT agents, S=C(Z)SCH3. This suggests that dithiophosphinate esters may have only limited use in controlling free-radical polymerization, but should make excellent radical chain carriers in organic synthesis. The results cast doubt on the notion that phosphoranyl radicals are more "intrinsically" stabilized than carbon-centered radicals.  相似文献

We report the formation of microscopic patterns of substrate-supported, 3D planar colloidal crystals using physical confinement in conjunction with surfaces displaying predetermined binary patterns of hydropholicity. The formation process involves a primary self-assembly wherein nano- and microscale colloids order into a photonic fcc lattice via capillary interactions followed by a secondary template-induced crystal cleavage step. Following this method, arbitrary arrays of pattern elements, which preserve structural and orientational properties of the parent crystal, can be easily obtained.  相似文献

The synthesis of ten proline-modified analogues of the neuroprotective tripeptide GPE is described. Five of the analogues incorporate a proline residue with a hydrophobic group at C-2 and two further analogues have this side chain locked into a spirolactam ring system. The pyrrolidine ring was also modified by replacing the γ-CH2 group with sulfur and/or incorporation of two methyl groups at C-5.  相似文献

Quantitation of nicotine in tobacco products by capillary electrophoresis   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A simple and rapid capillary electrophoresis (CE) method was developed for the quantitation of nicotine in commercial tobacco products. The method involves a 6 min run at 30 kV, using a 50 mM phosphate buffer (pH 2.5), paraquat as internal standard, and UV detection at 260 nm. Nicotine was extracted from tobacco products in <15 min. Recoveries from spiked extracts were >95%, and the extraction efficiencies of water, 1 M HCI, 1 M acetic acid, 5 mM phosphate buffer (pH 2.5), and 1% triethanol amine were similar. Nicotine concentrations in 67 samples of cigarettes, cigars, and bidis varied between 0.37 and 2.96% (w/w). An established gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method using toluene extraction consistently yielded lower nicotine values than the CE method. Experimental evidence suggests that this is due to insufficient extraction of nicotine by toluene.  相似文献

A microwave digestion method for the determination of marine biological tissues has been developed to allow determination of selenium in small sample sizes (< 0.1 g). The benefits of this technique include maintaining concentrates in extracts without the subsequent over dilution encountered when using larger vessels, increased sample throughput and reduced loss of volatile material. Freeze dried biological material (< 0.1 g) and nitric acid (1 ml) were placed into 7 ml screw top Teflon vessels which are completely sealed on capping. Two 7 ml vials were placed into larger 120 ml vessels fitted with a Teflon spacer and 10 ml of distilled water. The effects of microwave power and time, and sample mass on selenium recovery from three marine standard reference materials (NIST SRM 1566a Oyster Tissue, NRCC DORM-1 Dogfish Muscle and NRCC TORT-1 Lobster Hepatopancreas) were examined. The optimum conditions: 600 W, 2 min; 0 W, 2 min; 450 W, 45 min, allowed quantitative recoveries of selenium from these and three other standard reference materials (NRCC DOLT-1 Dogfish liver, NIST RM-50 Albacore tuna and IAEA MA-A-2 fish flesh). Studies on sample mass showed that the analysis of sample masses from 0.025 to 0.1 g gave selenium concentrations within the certified range. Six species of selenium: selenite, selenate, selenomethionine, selenocysteine, selenocystamine, and trimethyl selenonium were added to oyster, dogfish, and lobster tissues. Recoveries were near quantitative for all species (94–105%) except trimethyl selenonium (90–101%).  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive method for the analysis of delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in preserved oral fluid was developed and fully validated. Oral fluid was collected with the Intercept, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved sampling device that is used on a large scale in the U.S. for workplace drug testing. The method comprised a simple liquid-liquid extraction with hexane, followed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS) analysis. Chromatographic separation was achieved using a XTerra MS C18 column, eluted isocratically with 1 mM ammonium formate-methanol (10:90, v/v). Selectivity of the method was achieved by a combination of retention time, and two precursor-product ion transitions. The use of the liquid-liquid extraction was demonstrated to be highly effective and led to significant decreases in the interferences present in the matrix. Validation of the method was performed using both 100 and 500 MicroL of oral fluid. The method was linear over the range investigated (0.5-100 ng/mL and 0. 1-10 ng/mL when 100 and 500 microL, respectively, of oral fluid were used) with an excellent intra-assay and inter-assay precision (relative standard deviations, RSD <6%) for quality control samples spiked at a concentration of 2.5 and 25 ng/mL and 0.5 and 2.5 ng/mL, respectively. Limits of quantification were 0.5 and 0.1 ng/mL when using 100 and 500 microL, respectively. In contrast to existing GC-MS methods, no extensive sample clean-up and time-consuming derivatisation steps were needed. The method was subsequently applied to Intercept samples collected at the roadside and collected during a controlled study with cannabis.  相似文献

A nano-electrospray ionisation source has been designed and constructed for a high temperature ion mobility spectrometer. The drift cell was modified by replacement of the 63Ni atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation source with a tube lens/desolvation region and operated using commercial nano-electrospray capillaries. Ions were introduced into the drift region via a Bradbury-Nielson gate (pulse width 50 micros, repetition period 20 ms). A unidirectional flow of nitrogen was used as the drift gas at temperatures in the range 100-150 degrees C to aid desolvation. The performance of the nano-electrospray ion source has been demonstrated for analytes including crown ethers, amino acids and peptides. Reduced mobilities determined by nano-ESI were consistent with those reported using a 63Ni ion source.  相似文献
