The present paper contains a martingale representation theorem for set-valued martingales defined on a filtered probability space with a filtration generated by a Brownian motion. It is proved that such type martingales can be defined by some generalized set-valued stochastic integrals with respect to a given Brownian motion. The main result of the paper is preceded by short part devoted to the definition and some properties of generalized set-valued stochastic integrals.  相似文献

The fractional linear transformation defined by Qτ(z)=(Q(z)−τ)/(1+τQ(z))Qτ(z)=(Q(z)τ)/(1+τQ(z)), τ∈R∪{∞}τR{}, is a generalized Nevanlinna function with one negative square. Its generalized zero of nonpositive type α(τ)α(τ) as a function of τ is being studied. In this paper we deal with the hyponormality of Toeplitz operators with matrix‐valued symbols. The aim of this paper is to provide a tractable criterion for the hyponormality of bounded‐type Toeplitz operators (i.e., the symbol is a matrix‐valued function such that Φ and are of bounded type). In particular, we get a much simpler criterion for the hyponormality of when the co‐analytic part of the symbol Φ is a left divisor of the analytic part.  相似文献

In this paper, we address an optimization problem resulting from the combination of the well-known travelling salesman and knapsack problems. In particular, we target the orienteering problem, originated in the context of sport, which consists of maximizing the total score associated with the vertices visited in a path within the available time. The problem, also known as the selective travelling salesman problem, is NP-hard and can be formulated as an integer linear program. Since the 1980s, several solution methods for this problem have been developed and applied to a variety of fields, particularly in routing and tourism. We propose a heuristic method—based on the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP) and the Path Relinking methodologies—for finding approximate solutions to this optimization problem. We explore different constructive methods and combine two neighbourhoods in the local search of GRASP. Our experimentation with 196 previously reported instances shows that the proposed procedure obtains high-quality solutions employing short computing times.  相似文献

We consider a simplified model arising in radiation hydrodynamics which is based on the barotropic Navier–Stokes system describing the macroscopic fluid motion and a P1-approximation (see below) of the transport equation modeling the propagation of radiative intensity. We establish global-in-time existence of strong solutions for the associated Cauchy problem when initial data are close to a stable radiative equilibrium and local existence for large data with no vacuum. During the last three decades, the impact of visualization processes on the teaching and learning of mathematics has been extensively researched. However, considerably less work has been devoted to haptic processes. In this paper, we describe and analyze the role of haptic processes from data collected in mathematics lessons taught in a school for blind students. The analysis builds upon studies from perception and also from teaching experiences in order to examine the teacher’s and the students’ hand movements and metaphors when handling solids of revolution and communicating verbally with each other about their insights. We highlight the powerful combination of the visual and the haptic components of their interactions for the conceptualization of mathematical experiences, and we also note the critical role mathematical language plays in supporting the teaching–learning processes in this context. Finally, we consider important educational implications not only for blind people, but for all students and teachers of mathematics.  相似文献

We consider the two-player, complete information game of Cops and Robber played on undirected, finite, reflexive graphs. A number of cops and one robber are positioned on vertices and take turns in sliding along edges. The cops win if, after a move, a cop and the robber are on the same vertex. The minimum number of cops needed to catch the robber on a graph is called the cop number of that graph. Let c(g) be the supremum over all cop numbers of graphs embeddable in a closed orientable surface of genus g, and likewise ${\tilde c(g)}$ for non-orientable surfaces. It is known (Andreae, 1986) that, for a fixed surface, the maximum over all cop numbers of graphs embeddable in this surface is finite. More precisely, Quilliot (1985) showed that c(g) ≤ 2g + 3, and Schröder (2001) sharpened this to ${c(g)\le \frac32g + 3}$ . In his paper, Andreae gave the bound ${\tilde c(g) \in O(g)}$ with a weak constant, and posed the question whether a stronger bound can be obtained. Nowakowski & Schröder (1997) obtained ${\tilde c(g) \le 2g+1}$ . In this short note, we show ${\tilde c(g) \leq c(g-1)}$ , for any g ≥ 1. As a corollary, using Schröder’s results, we obtain the following: the maximum cop number of graphs embeddable in the projective plane is 3, the maximum cop number of graphs embeddable in the Klein Bottle is at most 4, ${\tilde c(3) \le 5}$ , and ${\tilde c(g) \le \frac32g + 3/2}$ for all other g.  相似文献

Most branch-and-bound algorithms in global optimization depend on convex underestimators to calculate lower bounds of a minimization objective function. The $\alpha $ BB methodology produces such underestimators for sufficiently smooth functions by analyzing interval Hessian approximations. Several methods to rigorously determine the $\alpha $ BB parameters have been proposed, varying in tightness and computational complexity. We present new polynomial-time methods and compare their properties to existing approaches. The new methods are based on classical eigenvalue bounds from linear algebra and a more recent result on interval matrices. We show how parameters can be optimized with respect to the average underestimation error, in addition to the maximum error commonly used in $\alpha $ BB methods. Numerical comparisons are made, based on test functions and a set of randomly generated interval Hessians. The paper shows the relative strengths of the methods, and proves exact results where one method dominates another.  相似文献
