Due to the concern on residue toxic metal in biodegradable poly(propylene carbonate) (PPC), soil tolerant and heavy metal free aluminum complexes, that is, bifunctional aluminum porphyrin catalysts bearing quaternary ammonium salts on the ligand framework were prepared. Variation of the quaternary ammonium anion and the axial ligand had dramatic effects on the catalytic activity of resultant complex, among which complex 3b yielded perfectly alternative PPC with high molecular weight and relatively narrow polydispersity, and its TOF reached 3,407 h?1 at [PO]/[cat.] ratio of 20,000 at 110 °C, although the PPC selectivity was 71%. By introducing specific substituent on the ligand framework, the electronic environment at the active center can be changed, among which complex 5b bearing tertiary butyl‐functionalized aryl substituents exhibited a TOF of 449 h?1 at [PO]/[cat.] ratio of 5,000 at 70 °C, with PPC selectivity of 92% and number average molecular weight of 36 kg mol?1. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Aqueous ultrasonic exfoliation by using proteins as dispersants allows for the simultaneous production and biofunctionalization of single- or few-layered 2D materials for biomedical applications. However, the production yield and quality are always a concern. Here, the production of stable, low-defect, and biofunctionalized 2D flakes of graphene by using bifunctional chimeric polyproteins as dispersants is shown. The chimeric polyproteins contain an amphiphilic protein, hydrophobin (HFBI), to serve as the anchoring point that strongly binds to graphene layers and tandem repeats of a globular protein, GB1, to respond and transmit the ultrasonic force for efficient mechanical exfoliation. For this reason, the production yield is much higher than those obtained by using HFBI alone. Moreover, the yield, lateral size and number of layers can be fine-tuned by the number of GB1 repeats. Other 2D materials, such as MoS2 and WS2, can also be exfoliated in the same manner, demonstrating the versatility of this approach. 相似文献

A series of functional polyethylenes have been simply and efficiently synthesized via the combination of regioselective ethylene/5‐vinyl‐2‐norbornene (VNB) copolymerization using [PhNC(CF3)CHCO(Ph)]2TiCl2 catalyst and following ultraviolet light initiated thiol‐ene click reaction. On treatment of ethylene/VNB copolymer with different thiols including mercaptoethanol, 1‐thioglycerol, methyl mercaptoacetate, methyl mercaptopropionate, 2‐mercaptoethylamine, mercaptoacetic acid, and mercaptopropanoic acid, various polar groups have been successfully introduced into the polyethylene. Except 2‐mercaptoethylamine, the functionalizations are quite efficient with the degree of functionalization higher than 94%, which is independent of thiol structure and double bond content. The content of polar group in functional polyethylene can be tuned in a wide range of 0–30 mol %. Gel permeation chromatography profiles indicate all functional polyethylenes that have very high molecular weights (160–336 kg/mol) with homogeneous formation. Besides, systematic investigation of the influence of vinyl type and thiol structure on reactivity has been also carried out. By treatment of mercaptoethanol with different copolymers (ethylene/VNB, ethylene/5‐ethylidene‐2‐norbornene, and ethylene/dicyclopentadiene copolymer), the order of vinyl reactivity can be summarized as terminal > internal > cyclic double bond. For different thiols, the reactivity has the sequence of SHCH2COOH > SHCH2COOCH3 > SHCH2CH2COOH > SHCH2CH2COOCH3 > SHCH2CH(OH)CH2OH > SHCH2CH2OH > SHCH2CH2NH2, which is depended on the solubility and the electron‐withdrawing inductive effect of polar group. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Three new halogenated chamigrane sesquiterpenes, laurokamin A (1), laurokamin B (2), and laurokamin C (3), and four known halogenated chamigrane sesquiterpenes, 10‐bromo‐α‐chamigrene (4), 10‐bromo‐β‐chamigrene (5), 2,10‐dibromo‐3‐chloro‐β‐chamigrene (6), and obtusane (7), were isolated from the marine red alga Laurencia okamurae collected from the coast of Rongcheng, China. The structures of these compounds were unambiguously identified by one‐ and two‐dimensional NMR and mass spectroscopic methods. The antimicrobial activity of compounds 1–3 was evaluated.
