This article analyzes the influence of Ultraviolet Erythematic Radiation (UVER) dose received by construction workers in Valencia highlighting the upper limit of the dose received for a worker in different periods of a year. Building construction usually implies workers to stand for several hours outdoors while working until roof top is finished. In Valencia, construction carried out near the coastline has been very intense in the last few years with the construction of a great amount of summer flats. This article focuses on the maximum values UVER can reach in different seasons of the year for cities with similar latitude to Valencia (39°28′N, 0°22′W), as an important way of warning construction workers about the necessity of taking preventive actions. Viospor dosimeters placed on a mannequin have been used in this study. The measurements took place between 2012 December and 2013 July. 相似文献

Bulk hyperbranched anionic polymerisation of glycidol initiated by methoxide anion has been studied at B3PW91/6‐311+G(2d,p)//HF/6‐31G/d′) and MP2/6‐31+G(d′)//MP2/6‐31+G(d′) levels of theory. The Isodensity Polarised Continuum model was applied to take into account the environment effect. The results of molecular modelling are in good agreement with experimental data. According to the calculations glycidol polymerisation is thermodynamically controlled. The attack on the unsubstituted glycidol end is thermodynamically preferred except for the very first polymerisation step. Fast proton exchange reaction takes place during the polymerisation giving rise to the branching reaction. While the linear growth is caused by primary alkoxide attack, the branching reaction occurs by secondary alkoxide attack on the next glycidol molecule. It was found that cyclisation reactions show higher activation energies and are less favourable thermodynamically compared to polymerisation. 相似文献

Microanalytical methods offer attractive characteristics for rapid microbial detection and concentration. There is a growing
interest in the development of microscale separation techniques. Dielectrophoresis (DEP), a nondestructive electrokinetic
transport mechanism, is a technique with great potential for microbe manipulation, since it can achieve concentration and
separation in a single step. DEP is the movement of particles due to polarization effects in nonuniform electric fields. The
majority of the work on dielectrophoretic manipulation of microbes has employed alternating current fields in arrays of microelectrodes,
an approach with some disadvantages. An alternative is to employ insulator-based DEP (iDEP), a dielectrophoretic mode where
nonuniform fields are produced by employing arrays of insulating structures. This study presents the concentration and fractionation
of a mixture of bacteria and yeast cells employing direct current-iDEP in a microchannel containing an array of cylindrical
insulating structures. Negative dielectrophoretic trapping of both types of microorganisms was demonstrated, where yeast cells
exhibited a stronger response, opening the possibility for dielectrophoretic differentiation. Simultaneous concentration and
fractionation of a mixture of both types of cells was carried out analogous to a chromatographic separation, where a dielectropherogram was obtained in less than 2 min by applying an electric field gradient and achieving concentration factors in the order of
50 and 37 times the inlet concentration for Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells, respectively. Encouraging results were also obtained employing a sample of water taken from a pond. The findings demonstrated

In the present study, a methodology based on liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC/DAD) coupled to an electrospray ionization (ESI) interface and a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer for the simultaneous identification of phenolic compounds in fruit juices has been developed. 72 available phenolic compound standards from diverse families present in fruits have been studied in order to analyze their fragmentation pattern. As a result, a general strategy for the characterization of unknown phenolic compounds in fruit juices was designed: (i) taking into account its UV–visible spectrum and elution order, assign the unknown polyphenol to a polyphenol class, (ii) identify the quasi-molecular ion using positive and negative MS spectra, being supported by adducts generated with solvent or sodium and molecular complexes, (iii) determinate the pattern of glycosylation in positive mode using ESI(+)-CID MS/MS product ion scan experiments, selecting the quasi-molecular ion as precursor ion, and finally, (iv) study the identity of the aglycone through ESI(+)-CID MS/MS product ion spectra from the protonated aglycone, [Y0]+. This strategy was successfully employed for the characterization of known and unknown phenolic compounds in juices from 17 different fruits. 相似文献

This paper describes the morphology of the sexual phase and spores of Platycerium andinum and Platycerium wandae. Spores were sown in Thompson's media and the cultures were kept at 24–25 °C, with 12 h light/darkness photoperiod. Developmental phases were fixed in FAA and processed for observation with the scanning electron microscope. Spores of both species are monolete; Vittaria-type germination and Aspidium-type prothallial development were observed. In the phase of development, the gametophytes develop unicellular secretory and as they mature, develop bifurcated or branched pluricellular trichomes, both in the cushion and near the meristematic zone. Adult gametophytes in culture are cordiform-spatulate to cordiform-reniform, most are unisexual and a few are bisexual. Gametangia belong to the leptosporangiate fern type. Archegonial morphology is uniform, with an elongate, thin neck curved toward the base of the gametophyte. Antheridia have a basal cell, an annular cell and an undivided opercular cell. Three hundred days after the spores were sown, sporophytes still had not developed. In both species, some spores germinate inside the sporangial capsule (intra-sporangial germination). We provide new information on morphogenesis in the genus Platycerium. 相似文献
