The structure preserving rank reduction problem arises in many important applications. The singular value decomposition (SVD), while giving the closest low rank approximation to a given matrix in matrix L
2 norm and Frobenius norm, may not be appropriate for these applications since it does not preserve the given structure. We present a new method for structure preserving low rank approximation of a matrix, which is based on Structured Total Least Norm (STLN). The STLN is an efficient method for obtaining an approximate solution to an overdetermined linear system AX B, preserving the given linear structure in the perturbation [E F] such that (A + E)X = B + F. The approximate solution can be obtained to minimize the perturbation [E F] in the L

The compatibilizing effect of polyarylate-polystyrene (PAR-PS) block copolymer prepared from macroazo initiator was examined in polyarylate/polystyrene blends from the view-points of morphology, density, and thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties. PARPS block copolymer enhanced the mutual dissolution of the homopolymers. Reduced dispersed-domain size and increased density showed the efficiency of the block copolymer as a compatibilizing agent. Policies and criteria for the accreditation of testing laboratories in Korea are reviewed according to the laws and regulations within the organizational framework. According to the Weights and Measures Act, the administrator of Korean Industrial Advancement Administration (KIAA) may accredit qualified testing laboratories in Korea. Criteria, procedures, and surveillance of accredited laboratories are specified in the Enforcement Regulation of the Weights and Measures Act drawn up by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy. Further detailed accreditation criteria and processes are prescribed in the Operation Guideline for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories prepared by the KIAA. The Korean Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) of the KIAA is the authorized representative institution for the accreditation of testing laboratories in compliance with the ISO Guides 25/58 and the Operation Guideline for the Accreditation of Testing Laboratories. Six recently proposed methods for analyzing copolymerization composition data have been compared to a nonlinear least-squares analysis to ascertain the precision of the six methods in determining reactivity ratios. Data used were simulated for five hypothetical monomer pairs with three different types of experiment design and contained error structures similar to those observed experimentally. The results of the comparisons suggest that retrospective analyses of existing copolymerization data should only be done with a nonlinear least-squares analysis. For new data, the design of experiments is of great importance, and when done properly allows the use of some of the linear least-squares methods of analysis. 相似文献

In contrast to oxodipyrromethenes and bilirubin, benzalpyrrolinones (H, P-OCH3, p-Cl, p-N(CH3)2 and o-CH3) and α-pyridalpyrrolinones appear not to undergo dye-sensitized photo-oxygenation. They do, however, undergo an unsensitized E ? Z photoisomerization reminiscent of stilbene photoisomerization, and the photostationary state varies with substituent.
