Anodic acetamidoselenation of alkenes

Anodic oxidation of diphenyldiselenide in acetonitrile in the presence of an alkene gives acetamidoselenides.     

Synthesis of fluorophore and quencher monomers for use in scorpion primers and nucleic acid structural probes

We report the syntheses of monomers to incorporate fluorescein and methyl red within the sequence and at the termini of modified oligonucleotides. These monomers have been used in the solid-phase synthesis of fluorogenic oligonucleotides for genetic analysis and the study of multi-stranded nucleic acid structures.     

Divergent photoreactivity in intramolecular cycloadditions amongst prop-2-enylcyclopentenones

Irradiation of the 1,4-diene(8) gave the corresponding geometrical isomer(10) whereas (5) produced the vinylcyclopropane(6), and (11a) and (11b) (in MeOH) led to the tricyclic adduct(14) and the isomeric cyclopentenone (15) respectively.     

The transverse energy distribution in hadron-lead collisions

The transverse energy cross-sectiondσ/dE _T has been measured in the pseudorapidity region 0.6<η<2.4 for hadron-lead collisions at 200 GeV/c incident hadron momentum. TheE _T distribution extends to 40 GeV, which is twice the kinematic limit forp-p collisions at the same incident beam momentum. The distribution ofE _T is found to shift towards low pseudorapidities with increasing total transverse energy.     

A Review of Job Shop Scheduling

This paper discusses the more recent literature on job-shop-like sequencing problems.The types of problems can be broadly classified as "due date" or "minimum make-span" and among the solutions described particular stress is laid on the increasing adoption of heuristic devices.Some consideration is given to the possible limitations of highly idealized models and the paucity of papers on applications.
