The present study aims to determine the volatile compositions of 15 different accessions of native Sardinian populations of Bituminaria morisiana (Pignatti & Metlesics) Greuter, Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C. H. Stirt. (B. b.), and Spanish native accessions of B. bituminosa. Furthermore, we particularly focused on the essential oil characterization of these accessions and discriminated within populations with low furocoumarin content useful for fodder production in Mediterranean environments or furocoumarin extraction for pharmaceutical utilization. The plant extracts were analyzed by GC/MS, showing great variability in the content and composition. No differences were found in Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirt. var. bituminosa essential oils, while the varieties Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirt. var. crassiuscula P. Méndez, Fern. Galván & A. Santos and Bituminaria bituminosa (L.) C.H. Stirt. var. albomarginata P. Méndez, Fern. Galván & A. Santos are characterized by the presence of a high concentration of long-chain alcohols and of salicylic acid benzylic ester. In B. bituminosa var. albomarginata, we observed a different profile with predominance of a large concentration of alcohols as dodecanol and tetradecanol. The endemic B. morisiana can be identified for the predominant presence of farnesene. In methanolic fractions, we detected the presence of maltol, methyl citrate, methyl cumarate, santonin, and methyl linoleate. B. morisiana showed a low content of psoralens, and the accession of B. morisiana, from Siliqua indicated the presence of apocynin.  相似文献

Syringa vulgaris L. (common lilac) is one of the most popular ornamental species, but also a promising not comprehensively studied source of bioactive compounds with important therapeutic potential. Our study was designed to characterize the chemical composition and to assess the antioxidant and cytotoxic properties of ethanolic extracts obtained from S. vulgaris L. flowers, leaves, bark, and fruit. The chemical profile of the ethanolic extracts was investigated using chromatographic (HPLC-DAD-ESI+, GC-MS) and spectral (UV-Vis, FT-IR) methods, while the protective effect against free radicals was evaluated in vitro by different chemical assays (DPPH, FRAP, CUPRAC). The cytotoxic activity was tested on two tumoral cell lines, HeLa, B16F10, using the MTT assay. Significant amounts of free or glycosylated chemical components belonging to various therapeutically important structural classes, such as phenyl-propanoids (syringin, acteoside, echinacoside), flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol derivatives) and secoiridoids (secologanoside, oleuropein, 10-hydroxy oleuropein, demethyloleuropein, syringalactone A, nuzhenide, lingstroside) were obtained for the flowers, leaves and bark extracts, respectively. Furthermore, MTT tests pointed out a significant cytotoxic potential expressed in a non-dose-dependent manner toward the tumoral lines. The performed methods underlined that S. vulgaris extracts, in particular belonging to flowers and leaves, represent valuable sources of compounds with antioxidant and antitumoral potential.  相似文献

Mexiletine (MXL) is a class IB antiarrhythmic agent, acting as a non-selective voltage-gated sodium channel blocker, used in therapy as a racemic mixture R,S-MXL hydrochloride. The aim of the current study was the development of a new, fast, and efficient method for the chiral separation of MXL enantiomers using capillary electrophoresis (CE) and cyclodextrins (CDs) as chiral selectors (CSs). After an initial CS screening, using several neutral and charged CDs, at four pH levels, heptakis-2,3,6-tri-O-methyl-β-CD (TM-β-CD), a neutral derivatized CD, was chosen as the optimum CS for the enantioseparation. For method optimization, an initial screening fractional factorial design was applied to identify the most significant parameters, followed by a face-centered central composite design to establish the optimal separation conditions. The best results were obtained by applying the following optimized electrophoretic conditions: 60 mM phosphate buffer, pH 5.0, 50 mM TM-β-CD, temperature 20 °C, applied voltage 30 kV, hydrodynamic injection 50 mbar/s. MXL enantiomers were baseline separated with a resolution of 1.52 during a migration time of under 5 min; S-MXL was the first migrating enantiomer. The method’s analytical performance was verified in terms of precision, linearity, accuracy, and robustness (applying a Plackett–Burman design). The developed method was applied for the determination of MXL enantiomers in pharmaceuticals. A computer modeling of the MXL-CD complexes was applied to characterize host–guest chiral recognition.  相似文献

In a recent article Gowda and Sznajder (Linear Algebra Appl 432:1553–1559, 2010) studied the concept of Schur complement in Euclidean Jordan algebras and described Schur determinantal and Haynsworth inertia formulas. In this article, we establish some more results on the Schur complement. Specifically, we prove, in the setting of Euclidean Jordan algebras, an analogue of the Crabtree-Haynsworth quotient formula and show that any Schur complement of a strictly diagonally dominant element is strictly diagonally dominant. We also introduce the concept of Schur product of a real symmetric matrix and an element of a Euclidean Jordan algebra when its Peirce decomposition with respect to a Jordan frame is given. An Oppenheim type inequality is proved in this setting.  相似文献

A new analytical method for the simultaneous determination of two natural hormones (progesterone and estrone) and two selected endocrine disrupter compounds (EDCs) (diltiazem and carbamazepine (Cbz)) was developed by liquid chromatography electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS) after pre-concentration with solid phase extraction (SPE). Influent and effluent samples taken from five different wastewater treatment plants throughout Turkey namely Hurma/Antalya, Lara/Antalya, Kemer-1 and Kemer-2 and METU/Ankara were analyzed for their EDCs contents under the optimum conditions. All of the parameters in the pre-concentration step were optimized and the best recoveries for all compounds of interest were achieved at pH 7 (about 100%). Progesterone was not detected in any of the treatment plants while diltiazem was found in all samples with the exception of Lara effluent.  相似文献

In this work, we find idempotent elements of the semigroup corresponding to X-semilattices of unions of the class ??16(X, 6). Summary: Cationic ring‐opening polymerization of 3‐ethyl‐3‐hydroxymethyloxetane (EOX) in a neutral ionic liquid (1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [bmim][BF4]) leading to a multihydroxyl, branched polyether proceeds readily to nearly quantitative conversion. Because of the relatively high polarity of ionic liquids, intermolecular hydrogen bonding leading to the formation of aggregates is reduced considerably. On the other hand, intramolecular hydrogen bonding facilitating intramolecular chain transfer is not significantly affected and the molecular weights of polymers are in the same range as those obtained in bulk polymerization or polymerization in organic solvents.

Nano-LC and conventional HPLC techniques were applied for the analysis of anthocyanins present in commercial fruit juices using a capillary column of 100 μm id and a 2.1 mm id narrow-bore C(18) column. Analytes were detected by UV-Vis at 518 nm and ESI-ion trap MS with HPLC and nano-LC, respectively. Commercial blueberry juice (14 anthocyanins detected) was used to optimize chromatographic separation of analytes and other analysis parameters. Qualitative identification of anthocyanins was performed by comparing the recorded mass spectral data with those of published papers. The use of the same mobile phase composition in both techniques revealed that the miniaturized method exhibited shorter analysis time and higher sensitivity than narrow-bore chromatography. Good intra-day and day-to-day precision of retention time was obtained in both methods with values of RSD less than 3.4 and 0.8% for nano-LC and HPLC, respectively. Quantitative analysis was performed by external standard curve calibration of cyanidin-3-O-glucoside standard. Calibration curves were linear in the concentration ranges studied, 0.1-50 and 6-50 μg/mL for HPLC-UV/Vis and nano-LC-MS, respectively. LOD and LOQ values were good for both methods. In addition to commercial blueberry juice, qualitative and quantitative analysis of other juices (e.g. raspberry, sweet cherry and pomegranate) was performed. The optimized nano-LC-MS method allowed an easy and selective identification and quantification of anthocyanins in commercial fruit juices; it offered good results, shorter analysis time and reduced mobile phase volume with respect to narrow-bore HPLC.  相似文献

Abstract— The size of the area over the fluorescence rise curve of chloroplasts is a measure of the total number of quanta utilized in photosystem II during the fluorescence induction, while the growth of the area reflects the progress of photochemical events. In the presence of 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea (DCMU), the growth kinetics of the area are affected by the reoxidation of the primary acceptor Q - with stored oxidizing charges on the donor side of system II.
At low light intensities, a slow component of this back reaction may limit the steady state fluorescence emission. At higher intensities, however, the fluorescence rise is limited solely by photochemical events, although fast thermochemical reactions like the immediate recombination of photochemically separated charges may affect the efficiency of the photochemistry.
A kinetic analysis of the area growth at moderate light intensities revealed that it occurred in two first order phases which were described by the rate constants k α and k β. The biphasic nature suggested a sequential two-electron reduction of the primary acceptor Q , or the presence of two different types of photochemical centers in system II. The rate constants were light intensity dependent. They also were affected by changes in pH, by an addition of NH2OH, or by a preillumination with short flashes prior to addition of DCMU. It is suggested that the pH of the medium, the presence of NH2OH, and the flash induced state Sn of the water splitting enzyme, control the values of k α and k β by changing the rate constants of electron carrier interactions in the reaction center complex, with a resulting modification of the frequency of back reactions between the primary donor and the primary acceptor.  相似文献
