The aim of this study is to examine seasonal changes in Cu and Co concentrations of three plant species for monitoring the effects of pollution in Elazig,Turkey.For this purpose,the leaves of the Pinus nigra L.,Cedrus libani and Cupressus arizonica together with soil samples were collected from different points depending on traffic intensity,nearness the city center and cement factory as well as control location during different months of the year.Flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer(FAAS) was used for measurement of the metals in clear digests after the dry ashing method.Copper and Co concentrations were in the ranges from 1.3to 2.6mg.kg-1 and相似文献

Simulation of spray combustion in a lean-direct injection combustor   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Large-eddy simulation (LES) of a liquid-fueled lean-direct injection (LDI) combustor is carried out by resolving the entire inlet flow path through the swirl vanes and the combustor. A localized dynamic subgrid closure is combined with a subgrid mixing and combustion model so that no adjustable parameters are required for both non-reacting and reacting LES. Time-averaged velocity predictions compare well with the measured data. The unsteady flow features that play a major role in spray dispersion, fuel–air mixing and flame stabilization are identified from the simulation data. It is shown that the vortex breakdown bubble (VBB) is smaller with more intense reverse flow when there is heat release. The swirling shear layer plays a major role in spray dispersion and the VBB provides an efficient flameholding mechanism to stabilize the flame.  相似文献

Our purpose was to investigate, by magnetic resonance (MR) spectroscopy, the metabolite changes in the brains of subjects in the shoemaking industry who had been chronically exposed to organic solvents. A total of 49 male subjects and 30 age-matched healthy volunteers underwent detailed neurological and psychiatric examinations. All subjects had long-echo [repetition time (TR) 2000 ms, echo time (TE) 136 ms] single-voxel MR spectroscopy. Voxels (15 x 15 x 15 mm(3)) were placed in the parietal white matter, thalamus, and basal ganglia. N-acetylaspartate (NAA)/creatine (Cr) and choline (Cho)/Cr ratios were calculated. There was no significant difference between the study subjects and the control group in NAA/Cr ratios obtained from thalamus, basal ganglia, and parietal white matter. Cho/Cr ratios in thalamus, basal ganglia, and parietal white matter were found to be significantly increased compared to controls. There was a positive correlation between basal ganglia Cho/Cr ratio and duration of exposure (r = 0.63). MR spectroscopy should be performed to reveal metabolite changes and determine the degree of brain involvement in solvent-related industry workers.  相似文献

Au/GaN/n-GaAs structure has been fabricated by the electrochemically anodic nitridation method for providing an evidence of achievement of stable electronic passivation of n-doped GaAs surface. The change of the electronic properties of the GaAs surface induced by the nitridation process has been studied by means of current-voltage (I-V) characterizations on Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) shaped on gallium nitride/gallium arsenide structure. Au/GaN/n-GaAs Schottky diode that showed rectifying behavior with an ideality factor value of 2.06 and barrier height value of 0.73 eV obeys a metal-interfacial layer-semiconductor (MIS) configuration rather than an ideal Schottky diode due to the existence of GaN at the Au/GaAs interfacial layer. The formation of the GaN interfacial layer for the stable passivation of gallium arsenide surface is investigated through calculation of the interface state density Nss with and without taking into account the series resistance Rs. While the interface state density calculated without taking into account Rs has increased exponentially with bias from 2.2×1012 cm−2 eV−1 in (Ec−0.48) eV to 3.85×1012 cm−2 eV−1 in (Ec−0.32) eV of n-GaAs, the Nss obtained taking into account the series resistance has remained constant with a value of 2.2×1012 cm−2 eV−1 in the same interval. This has been attributed to the passivation of the n-doped GaAs surface with the formation of the GaN interfacial layer.  相似文献

In this study, channel waveguides fabricated in photopolymer films by direct-writing using a low-power CW laser, are used as phase objects in a simple plane-wave diffraction setup, and the refractive index modulation profiles of the waveguides are characterized using the recorded diffraction patterns. Index profiles are modeled by piece-wisely combining two Gaussian functions representing the central and the tail regions. Measured diffraction patterns are matched with patterns generated using the model. This simple model makes it possible to design various channel waveguides embedded into polymer substrates. The proposed model is tested on three distinctive waveguide profiles written on the same Acrylamide/Polyvinyl Alcohol based photopolymer with different exposures.  相似文献

Godoy et al. (Phys. Rev. B 69, 054428, 2004) presented a study of the magnetic properties of a mixed spin (1/2,1), Ising ferrimagnetic model on a hexagonal lattice without an oscillating magnetic field. They employed dynamic mean-field calculations and Monte Carlo simulations to find the compensation point of the model and to present the phase diagrams. It has been found that the N-type compensation temperature appears only when the intrasublattice interaction between spins in the σ sublattice is ferromagnetic. Moreover, the system only undergoes a second-order phase transition. In this work, we extend the study a dynamic compensation temperature of a mixed spin-1/2 and spin-1 Ising ferrimagnetic system on a hexagonal lattice in the presence of oscillating magnetic field within the framework of dynamic mean-field calculations. We find that the system displays the N-type compensation temperature. We also calculate dynamic phase diagrams in which contain the paramagnetic, ferrimagnetic, nonmagnetic fundamental phases and two different mixed phases, depending on the interaction parameters and oscillating magnetic field. The system also exhibits tricritical and reentrant behaviors.  相似文献

The new vessel formations play a vital role in growth and spread of cancer. Current anti-angiogenic therapies, predominantly based on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibition, can inhibit vascular development; however, they are usually ineffective against the primary tumor occurrence. The aim of this study was to assess anti-angiogenic effects of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) functionalized with Semaphorin (Sema) 3F protein. The polyethylene glycol (PEG)-coated AuNPs were covalently functionalized with Sema 3F and labeled with the TAMRA fluorescent dye. The effect of the NPs on human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) is probed in the way of internalization and viability assays. AuNP-Sema 3F bioconjugates showed great endothelial cell uptake. AuNP-Sema 3F bioconjugates reduced VEGF165-induced endothelial cell proliferation more effectively than Sema 3F alone, suggesting that the therapeutic effects of Sema 3F can be improved by conjugation to AuNPs. Also, no significant toxicity effect was induced by bioconjugates. This is the first study that reports a covalent binding of full length Sema 3F to NPs. The exogenously administration of Sema 3F, which has both anti-angiogenic and anti-tumoral activity, to tumor vasculature via a carrying platform may not only lead to more effective anti-angiogenic treatment but also may make current approach more applicable in clinical use like drug delivery system.

Two distinct Josephson junctions (JJs) connected with a constant coupling resistance Rcp are theoretically considered to investigate the overall dynamics below and above the critical current Ic. The circuit model of the device is driven by two DC current sources, I1 and I2. Each junction is characterized by a nonlinear resistive–capacitive junction (NRCSJ). Having constructed the circuit model, time-dependent simulations are carried out for a variety of control parameter sets. Common techniques such as bifurcation diagrams, two-dimensional attractors and Lyapunov exponents are applied for the determination of chaotic as well as periodic dynamics of the superconducting junction devices. According to the findings, two states (namely superconducting and ordinary conducting) are determined as functions of the source currents. The chaotic current which flows through Rcp exhibits a very rich behavior depending on the source currents I1 and I2 and junction capacitances C1 and C2. The device characteristics are summarized by a number of three-dimensional phase diagrams in the parameter space. In addition, for certain parameters, hyper-chaotic cases with two positive Lyapunov exponents are encountered. In contrast to earlier studies claiming the need for a sinusoidal feeding current for generating a chaotic signal, our circuitry can easily generate one via a DC source.  相似文献
