Growth of graphene on copper (100) single crystals by chemical vapor deposition has been accomplished. The atomic structure of the graphene overlayer was studied using scanning tunneling microscopy. A detailed analysis of moire? superstructures present in the graphene topography reveals that growth occurs in a variety of orientations over the square atomic lattice of the copper surface. Transmission electron microscopy was used to elucidate the crystallinity of the grown graphene. Pristine, defect-free graphene was observed over copper steps, corners, and screw dislocations. Distinct protrusions, known as "flower" structures, were observed on flat terraces, which are attributed to carbon structures that depart from the characteristic honeycomb lattice. Continuous graphene growth also occurs over copper adatoms and atomic vacancies present at the single-crystal surface. The copper atom mobility within vacancy islands covered with suspended graphene sheets reveals a weak graphene-substrate interaction. The observed continuity and room-temperature vacancy motion indicates that copper mobility likely plays a significant role in the mechanism of sheet extension on copper substrates. Lastly, these results suggest that the quality of graphene grown on copper substrates is ultimately limited by nucleation at the surface of the metal catalyst.  相似文献

This work proposes a multi-method approach that combines advanced microscopy (SEM/EDX, AFM) and spectroscopy (UV-vis and FTIR) techniques. This approach not only characterises the behaviour of the additives of two commercial poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) and acrylic emulsion paints but also simultaneously characterises the changes in chemical composition and morphology observed in the paint films as a result of ageing due to the paints being exposed to an intense source of simulated daylight. In parallel, a series of mechanical tests were performed that correlate the chemical changes in composition and the changes observed in the films' mechanical properties. This work was a comparative study between both types of acrylic and PVAc paints. The results obtained are of great interest for the modern paint conservation field as they provide valuable information on the mid- and long-term behaviours of these synthetic paints.  相似文献

It is frequently assumed that sensitive museum materials follow the reciprocity principle of light exposures. Thus, equivalent exposure doses obtained by using either high-illuminance levels for short periods of time or lower illumination for longer exhibition periods are believed to cause similar degrees of damage to an object. Microfading spectrometry permitted the investigation of this phenomenon by evaluation of light-induced changes in a series of samples. The effects of equivalent exposure doses on materials such as Blue Wool 1, LightCheck Ultra, and various dyed silks from a reference collection were compared. The results indicate that reciprocity is obeyed by the most stable colorants, while materials with lower stability to light may experience deviations that are proportional to the intensity of illumination. This study confirms that reciprocity failure is associated with the use of high-intensity lamps during accelerated-aging trials. Therefore only those tests conducted at low-illumination intensity ranges where reciprocity holds should be employed when one estimates the extent of damage occurring in a museum environment.  相似文献

Single crystals of doped aniline oligomers are produced via a simple solution-based self-assembly method. Detailed mechanistic studies reveal that crystals of different morphologies and dimensions can be produced by a "bottom-up" hierarchical assembly where structures such as one-dimensional (1-D) nanofibers can be aggregated into higher order architectures. A large variety of crystalline nanostructures including 1-D nanofibers and nanowires, 2-D nanoribbons and nanosheets, 3-D nanoplates, stacked sheets, nanoflowers, porous networks, hollow spheres, and twisted coils can be obtained by controlling the nucleation of the crystals and the non-covalent interactions between the doped oligomers. These nanoscale crystals exhibit enhanced conductivity compared to their bulk counterparts as well as interesting structure-property relationships such as shape-dependent crystallinity. Furthermore, the morphology and dimension of these structures can be largely rationalized and predicted by monitoring molecule-solvent interactions via absorption studies. Using doped tetraaniline as a model system, the results and strategies presented here provide insight into the general scheme of shape and size control for organic materials.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Mitteilung wird über tyndallmetrische Messungen im einfarbigen Lichte berichtet. Die Messungen, die sowohl im parallelen als auch im konvergenten Lichte durchgeführt worden sind, stehen mit der Forderung der Rayleigh'schen Theorie, da\ die Menge des in einem trüben Medium zerstreuten Lichtes der vierten Potenz der Wellenl?nge des Lichtes umgekehrt proportional sein soll, in befriedigender Uebereinstimmung. Weiter wird gezeigt, in welcher Weise man den optischen Schwerpunkt des wei\en Lichtes bei tyndallmetrischen Untersuchungen bestimmen und wie man im wei\en Lichte ausgeführte tyndallmetrische Messungen zur Besprechung der für die betreffende trübe L?sung charakteristischen Konstanten des Rayleigh'schen Gesetzes benutzen kann.  相似文献
