We present what we call a “motivated proof” of the Göllnitz–Gordon–Andrews identities. A similar motivated proof of the Rogers–Ramanujan identities was previously given by G. E. Andrews and R. J. Baxter, and was subsequently generalized to Gordon’s identities by J. Lepowsky and M. Zhu. We anticipate that the present proof of the Göllnitz–Gordon–Andrews identities will illuminate certain twisted vertex-algebraic constructions. 相似文献

The results of a study on the evolution of HiPco single‐walled carbon nanotubes during the oxidizing action of H2SO4 and HNO3 are presented. The process conditions used have been chosen so as to avoid any significant damage to the nanotube structure. The type and level of functionalization, the location of the grafted functions on the surface of the nanotube and the changes in morphological characteristics of the samples were examined by using a wide and complementary range of analytical techniques. We propose an explanation for the differences in the oxidizing action of sulfuric and nitric acids. The combined results allow us to suggest possible reaction mechanisms that occur on the surface of the nanotube. 相似文献

A simple, sensitive, and specific analytical method has been developed for the quantitative determination of 15 reducing carbohydrates
in the soil solution of crop rhizosphere. Reducing carbohydrates were derivatized with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, separated
by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography and detected by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry.
Lower limits of quantitation of 2 ng/mL were achieved for all carbohydrates. Quantitation was performed using peak area ratios
(analyte/internal standard) and a calibration curve spiked in water with glucose-d2 as the internal standard. Calibration curves showed excellent linearity over the range 2–100 ng/mL (10–1,000 ng/mL for glucose).
The method has been tested with quality control samples spiked in water and soil solution samples obtained from the rhizosphere
of wheat and canola and has been found to provide accurate and precise results. 相似文献

The effect of intercalation with CuCl2 on the temperature variation of the thermal conductivity, thermopower and electrical resistivity of pitch-derived carbon fibers in the temperature range 2<T<300 K is studied. At high temperature, the lattice thermal conductivity is smaller than that of the pristine fibers while at low temperature an enhancement of both the lattice and the electronic thermal conductivities is observed. The thermopower is positive and exhibits a temperature dependence very similar to that generally reported in acceptor-type graphite intercalation compounds. 相似文献
