Stimulated Raman scattering in silicon was investigated at liquid helium temperatures. A Q-switched single mode Nd: YAG laser was used to generate Stokes radiation at 1.127 μm. Time resolved measurements give a maximum power conversion efficiency of 20%. The effects of intensity induced losses are discussed.  相似文献

For a nondiscrete σ-compact locally compact Hausdorff group G, L(G) is a commutative Banach algebra under pointwise multiplication which has many nonzero proper closed invariant ideals; there is at least a continuum of maximal invariant ideals {Nα} such that Nα1 + Nα2 = L(G) whenever α1α2. It follows from the construction of these ideals that when G is also amenable as a discrete group, then LIM?TLIM contains at least a continuum of mutually singular elements each of which is singular to any element of TLIM. The supports of left-invariant means are in the maximal ideal space of L(G); the structure of these supports leads to the notion of stationary and transitive maximal ideals. To prove that both these types of maximal ideals are dense among all maximal ideals, one shows that the intersection of all nonzero closed invariant ideals is zero. This is the case even though the intersection of any sequence of closed invariant ideals is not zero and the intersection of all the maximal invariant ideals is not zero.  相似文献

Rare-earth-doped crystals contain inhomogeneously broadened two-level atoms. Optical propagation and nonlinear interaction in the crystals can be described by the Maxwell–Bloch equations. We show a consistent numerical approach that solves Maxwell’s equations by using the FFT-finite difference beam propagation method and the Bloch equations by using the finite difference method. Numerical simulation results are given for an off-axis 3-pulse photon echo.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The rate of nucleation processes such as the freezing of a supercooled liquid or the condensation of supersaturated vapour is mainly determined by the height of the nucleation barrier and the diffusion coefficient for the motion across it. Here, we use a Bayesian inference algorithm for Markovian dynamics to extract simultaneously the free energy profile and the diffusion coefficient in the nucleation barrier region from short molecular dynamics trajectories. The specific example we study is the nucleation of vapour bubbles in liquid water under strongly negative pressures, for which we use the volume of the largest bubble as a reaction coordinate. Particular attention is paid to the effects of discretisation, the implementation of appropriate boundary conditions and the optimal selection of parameters. We find that the diffusivity is a linear function of the bubble volume over wide ranges of volumes and pressures, and is mainly determined by the viscosity of the liquid, as expected from the Rayleigh–Plesset theory for macroscopic bubble dynamics. The method is generally applicable to nucleation processes and yields important quantities for the estimation of nucleation rates in classical nucleation theory.  相似文献

We demonstrate the principle applicability of antenna-coupled complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) field-effect transistor arrays as cameras for real-time coherent imaging at 591.4 GHz. By scanning a few detectors across the image plane, we synthesize a focal-plane array of 100×100 pixels with an active area of 20×20 mm2, which is applied to imaging in transmission and reflection geometries. Individual detector pixels exhibit a voltage conversion loss of 24 dB and a noise figure of 41 dB for 16 μW of the local oscillator (LO) drive. For object illumination, we use a radio-frequency (RF) source with 432 μW at 590 GHz. Coherent detection is realized by quasioptical superposition of the image and the LO beam with 247 μW. At an effective frame rate of 17 Hz, we achieve a maximum dynamic range of 30 dB in the center of the image and more than 20 dB within a disk of 18 mm diameter. The system has been used for surface reconstruction resolving a height difference in the μm range.  相似文献

The Sound attenuation and dispersion in saturated gas-vapor-droplet mixture in the presence of evaporation has been investigated theoretically. The theory is based on an extension of the work of Davidson [J. Atmos. Sci. 32(11), 2201-2205 (1975)] to accommodate the effects of nonlinear particle relaxation processes of mass, momentum and energy transfer on sound attenuation and dispersion. The results indicate the existence of a spectral broadening effect in the attenuation coefficient (scaled with respect to the peak value) with a decrease in droplet mass concentration. It is further shown that for large values of the droplet concentration the scaled attenuation coefficient is characterized by a universal spectrum independent of droplet mass concentration.  相似文献

In this work, we investigated the stoichiometry of oxygen precipitates in Czochralski silicon wafers. The thickness dependence of the Cliff–Lorimer sensitivity factor for the silicon/oxygen system was determined and applied for the investigation of the stoichiometry of oxygen precipitates by EDX. The results show that both plate‐like oxygen precipitates and a transitional form between plate‐like and octahedral precipi‐ tates consist of SiO2. This was confirmed by EELS low loss spectra where the typical spectrum for amorphous SiO2 was observed. Moreover, the absorption band of plate‐like precipitates at 1227 cm–1 was found in the low temperature FTIR spectrum.
