A series of europium and terbium complexes based on a functionalized triazacyclononane carboxylate or phosphinate macrocyclic ligand is described. The influence of the anionic group, that is, carboxylate, methylphosphinate, or phenylphosphinate, on the photophysical properties was studied and rationalized on the basis of DFT calculated structures. The nature, number, and position of electron‐donating or electron‐withdrawing aryl substituents were varied systematically within the same phenylethynyl scaffold in order to optimize the brightness of the corresponding europium complexes and investigate their two‐photon absorption properties. Finally, the europium complexes were examined in cell‐imaging applications, and selected terbium complexes were studied as potential oxygen sensors.  相似文献

A series of 2,6- and 4-functionalized dipicolinic acid, ester, or amide featuring π-conjugated substituents such as donor-(phenyl or fluorenyl)-acetylene groups have been synthesized. Four crystallographic structures are reported. The influence of the substituent position, the nature of the donor group, and the conjugated backbone as well as the role of the pyridinic side arms on the absorption and emission properties are studied and discussed on the basis of TD-DFT calculations.  相似文献

The fast relaxation processes in the excited electronic states of functionalized aza-boron-dipyrromethene (aza-BODIPY) derivatives ( 1 – 4 ) were investigated in liquid media at room temperature, including the linear photophysical, photochemical, and nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. Optical gain was revealed for nonfluorescent derivatives 3 and 4 in the near infrared (NIR) spectral range under femtosecond excitation. The values of two-photon absorption (2PA) and excited-state absorption (ESA) cross-sections were obtained for 1–4 in dichloromethane using femtosecond Z-scans, and the role of bromine substituents in the molecular structures of 2 and 4 is discussed. The nature of the excited states involved in electronic transitions of these dyes was investigated using quantum-chemical TD-DFT calculations, and the obtained spectral parameters are in reasonable agreement with the experimental data. Significant 2PA (maxima cross-sections ∼2000 GM), and large ESA cross-sections ∼10−20 m2 of these new aza-BODIPY derivatives 1–4 along with their measured high photostability reveal their potential for photonic applications in general and optical limiting in particular.  相似文献

Summary This paper is a sequel of a paper of Cox and Griffeath “diffusive clustering in the two dimensional voter model”. We continue our study of the voter model and coalescing random walks on the two dimensional integer lattice. Some exact asymptotics concerning the rate of clustering in the former process and the coalescence rate of the latter are derived. We use these results to prove a limit law, announced in that earlier paper, concerning the size of the largest square centered at the origin which is of solid color at a large time t. The monosaccharides GlcNAc (N‐acetylglucosamine) and the home‐made GlcNC16 (N‐palmitoyl‐D‐glucosamine) were labeled with 2‐AB (2‐aminobenzamide) by reductive amination of the sugar. The aldehyde group of the monosaccharide reacts with the amino group of 2‐AB, forming a Schiff base. In the second step, the Schiff base is reduced with sodium cyanoborohydride to yield a stable secondary amine. We describe here a simple and fast procedure. Previous studies reported the same labeling at high concentration (10?1 M) during 30 h with further purification steps. In the present paper all operations were carried out in an Eppendorf tube and the reaction medium was directly analyzed without purification. Using the described protocol, the whole procedure can be accomplished in less than 6 h at 65°C at very low concentration (10?4 M). For both GlcNC16 and GlcNAc, the 2‐AB labeling conditions were optimized and, in addition, new conditions of high‐performance liquid chromatography analysis were developed. These N‐alkylated sugars were analyzed on reversed‐phase HPLC with fluorimetric detection at excitation and emission wavelengths of 340 and 400 nm, respectively. The separation was achieved on a C18 column with a gradient mobile phase composed of water (0.1% formic acid)–methanol (volume varying) in less than 19 min with 12.5 and 18.3 min retention times for GlcNAc and GlcNC16, respectively. This study descibes for the first time the nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of multipolar lanthanide complexes, Na3[Ln(dipic)3]. The "metal-induced" NLO activity enhancement is confirmed as a general property of f-block elements, and the direct participation of f electrons to the hyperpolarizability beta is strongly supported by experimental data.  相似文献
