The simulation of charged and/or strongly polar solutes represents a challenge for standard molecular-dynamics techniques. The use of periodic boundary conditions (PBCs) leads to artifacts due to the interaction between two replicas in the presence of the long-range Coulomb forces. A way to avoid these problems is the use of nonperiodic boundary conditions. A possible realization is to consider a finite system, a sphere, embedded in a reaction field described by the method of the images. In the present work the modified image approximation has been implemented in a molecular-dynamics code and optimized for the use of two standard solvents, water and acetonitrile. The methodology has then been applied to investigate the conformational changes in water-solvated alanine dipeptide. The free-energy surface calculated with this method is comparable to that obtained with PBC.  相似文献

Stable polyacrylamide (polyAA)–montmorillonite adducts were prepared by two distinct processes: (1) free radical copolymerization of AA with alkaline clay previously treated with 2-(N-methyl-N,N-diethyl ammonium iodide)ethylacrylate (QD1) and (2) direct interactions of alkaline montmorillonite with various preformed copolymers of AA with QD1. The structure of the adducts as determined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction was shown to consist of AA macromolecules inserted between lamellar layers whose spacing was larger than in the polymer-free clay. The polymer was strongly attached to the inorganic surfaces, probably due to cooperative formation of electrostatic bonding. The thermal stability of the organic polymers in the resulting complexes was substantially enhanced while the mobility of macromolecules decreased.  相似文献

Reaction of 1-oxo-2-formyl-3-dimethylamino-1H-naphtho[2,1-b]pyran with amidines, guanidine, O-methylisourea, S-methylisothiourea afforded 9-substituted 12-oxo-12H-naphtho[1′,2′:5,6]pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidines. When the reaction with O-methylisourea was carried out in anhydrous pyridine, 10,20-dioxo-10H,20H-dinaphtho[1,2-e:1′,2′-e′][1,5]diazocino[2,3-b:6,7-b′]dipyran was formed.  相似文献

Photoinduced charge separation and recombination in a carotenoid-porphyrin-fullerene triad C-P-C(60)(1) have been followed by multifrequency time-resolved electron paramagnetic resonance (TREPR) at intermediate magnetic field and microwave frequency (X-band) and high field and frequency (W-band). The electron-transfer process has been characterized in the different phases of two uniaxial liquid crystals (E-7 and ZLI-1167). The triad undergoes photoinduced electron transfer, with the generation of a long-lived charge-separated state, and charge recombination to the triplet state, localized in the carotene moiety, mimicking different aspects of the photosynthetic electron-transfer process. Both the photoinduced spin-correlated radical pair and the spin-polarized recombination triplet are observed starting from the crystalline up to the isotropic phase of the liquid crystals. The W-band TREPR radical pair spectrum has allowed unambiguous assignment of the spin-correlated radical pair spectrum to the charge-separated state C(.+)-P-C(60)(.-). The magnetic interaction parameters have been evaluated by simulation of the spin-polarized radical pair spectrum and the spin-selective recombination rates have been derived from the time dependence of the spectrum. The weak exchange interaction parameter (J = +0.5 +/- 0.2 G) provides a direct measure of the dominant electronic coupling matrix element V between the C(.+)-P-C(60)(.-) radical pair state and the recombination triplet state (3)C-P-C(60). The kinetic parameters have been analyzed in terms of the effect of the liquid crystal medium on the electron-transfer process. Effects of orientation of the molecular triad in the liquid crystal are evidenced by simulations of the carotenoid triplet state EPR spectra at different orientations of the external magnetic field with respect to the director of the mesophase. The order parameter (S = 0.5 +/- 0.05) has been evaluated.  相似文献

The coupling reaction between cetylbromide (CB) and trimethylamine (TMA) to yield the surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) is studied in the system chloroform/isooctane (2/1,v/v)/water in which CTAB forms reverse micelles. This system affords an endogenous micelle population growth, i.e., an increase of the concentration of the micelles due to appearance of the surfactant in situ. The reaction is studied in the presence of preexisting CTAB reverse micelles. The rate of CTAB formation is measured by NMR spectroscopy, and the endogenous micelle population growth is directly monitored by time-resolved fluorescence quenching analysis. Under our experimental conditions, a 100% yield of the chemical reaction brings about a fourfold increase in the population of the reverse micelles. Since the water concentration is constant during chemical reaction, the newly formed water pools are formed at the expense of the initial ones, which brings about a decrease of the average water pool radius during micellar growth. The implication of the endogenous micelle population growth as a model for biological systems is briefly discussed.  相似文献
