The synthesis of a series of (alpha-diimine)NiR(2) (R = Et, (n)Pr) complexes via Grignard alkylation of the corresponding (alpha-diimine)NiBr(2) precursors is presented. Protonation of these species by the oxonium acid [H(OEt(2))(2)](+)[BAr'(4)](-) at low temperatures yields cationic Ni(II) beta-agostic alkyl complexes which model relevant intermediates present in nickel-catalyzed olefin polymerization reactions. The highly dynamic nature of these agostic alkyl cations is quantitatively addressed using NMR line broadening techniques. Trapping of these complexes with ethylene provides cationic Ni alkyl ethylene species, which are used to determine rates of ethylene insertion into primary and secondary carbon centers. The Ni agostic alkyl cations are also trapped by CH(3)CN and Me(2)S to yield Ni(R)(L)(+) (L = CH(3)CN, Me(2)S) complexes, and the dynamic behavior of these species in the presence of varied [L] is discussed. The kinetic data obtained from these experiments are used to present an overall picture of the ethylene polymerization mechanism for (alpha-diimine)Ni catalysts, including effects of reaction temperature and ethylene pressure on catalyst activity, polyethylene branching, and polymer architecture. Detailed comparisons of these systems to the previously presented analogous palladium catalysts are made.  相似文献

Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence studies have been performed with human epidermal growth factor, a small globular protein having two adjacent tryptophan residues near its C-terminus. Based on the relatively red fluorescence and accessibility to solute quenchers, the two tryptophan residues are found to be exposed to solvent. Anisotropy decay measurements show the dominant depolarizing process to have a sub-nanosecond rotational correlation time indicating the existence of rapid segmental motion of the fluorescing tryptophan residues. From an analysis of the low-temperature excitation anisotropy spectrum of the protein (and in comparison with that of tryptophan, the peptide melittin, and the dipeptide trp-trp), it is concluded that homo-energy transfer and/or exciton interaction occurs between the adjacent tryptophan residues. A thermal transition in the structure of the protein, which is observed by circular dichroism measurements, is not sensed by the steady-state fluorescence of the protein. This result, in conjunction with the anisotropy decay results, indicates that the two tryptophan residues are in a highly flexible C-terminus segment, which is not an integral part of the three-dimensional structure of the protein. Fluorescence measurements with three site-directed mutants also show very little variation.  相似文献

Improved separations of the isomers of olefinic aliphatic insect pheromones were obtained on cholesteryl cinnamate glass capillary columns by operating in the supercooled temperature range of the liquid crystal. Capillary columns were prepared with varying film thickness of the stationary phase; choice of the correct film thickness ensured optimum retention for a wide range of compounds within the most effective temperature range of the liquid crystal. The deactivation procedures described made the liquid crystal columns suitable for separation of the geometric isomers of polar and nonpolar compounds.  相似文献

Cy(3)PCuMe (1) undergoes reversible ligand redistribution at low temperature in solution to form the tight ion pair [Cu(PCy(3))(2)][CuMe(2)] (3). The structure of 3 was assigned on the basis of (i) the stoichiometry of the 1 = 3 equilibrium, (ii) the observation of a triplet for the PCy(3) C1 (13)C NMR resonance due to virtual coupling to two (31)P nuclei, and (iii) reverse synthesis of 1 by combining separately generated Cu(PCy(3))(2)(+) and CuMe(2)(-) ions. Complex 1 and [Cu(PCy(3))(2)][PF(6)] (5) coordinate additional PCy(3) to form (Cy(3)P)(2)CuMe and [Cu(PCy(3))(3)][PF(6)], respectively, while 3 does not. Complex 1, free PCy(3), and (bipy)(2)FeEt(2) (2) each initiate the polymerization of acrylonitrile. In each case, the polyacrylonitrile contains branches that are characteristic of an anionic polymerization mechanism. The major initiator in acrylonitrile polymerization by 1 is PCy(3), which is liberated from 1. A transient iron hydride complex is proposed to initiate acrylonitrile polymerization by 2.  相似文献

A new C19 hydroxylated enyne 15, as potential A-ring building block of vitamin D analogues, was synthesized in enantiomerically pure form in nine steps from (−)-(S)-limonene. This short synthesis involved ozonolyzis of 1,2-limonene oxide followed by a Criegee rearrangement, epoxide trans diaxial ring opening by lithium acetylide, elimination, epoxidation and syn β-elimination of the resulting homopropargylic oxirane.  相似文献

Cationic Rh(III) complex [Cp(PMe(3))Rh(SiPh(3))(CH(2)Cl(2))]BAr(4)' (1) activates the carbon-carbon bond of aryl and alkyl cyanides (R-CN, where R = Ph, (4-(CF(3))C(6)H(4)), (4-(OMe)C(6)H(4)), Me, (i)Pr, (t)Bu) to produce complexes of the general formula [Cp*(PMe(3))Rh(R)(CNSiPh(3))]BAr(4)'. With the exception of the (t)BuCN case, every reaction proceeds at room temperature (t(1/2) < 1 h for aryl cyanides, t(1/2) < 14 h for alkyl cyanides). A general mechanism is presented on the basis of (1) an X-ray crystal structure determination of an intermediate isolated from the reaction involving 4-methoxybenzonitrile and (2) kinetic studies performed on the C-C bond cleavage of para-substituted aryl cyanides. Initial formation of an eta(1)-nitrile species is observed, followed by conversion to an eta(2)-iminoacyl intermediate, which was observed to undergo migration of R (aryl or alkyl) to rhodium to form the product [Cp*(PMe(3))Rh(R)(CNSiPh(3))]BAr(4)'.  相似文献

It is assumed that the first step in the hydrohalogenation of a diene under conditions such that an ionic mechanism is operative involves the formation of a linear carbonium ion via attachment of a proton to the 1-position and that the second step involves addition of the halide ion to either the 2- or 4-positions. If it is also assumed that hyperconjugation plays some non-negligible role in the carbonium ion intermediate, then it turns out that the use of Hückel theory charge densities and localization energies predict (1) that the 1,2-product is kinetically favored in the cases of butadiene and isoprene, (2) that the 1,4-product is kinetically favored in the case of chloroprene, and (3) that the 1,4-product is thermodynamically favored in all of the above systems. All of these predictions appear to be in agreement with available experimental results.
Zusammenfassung Bei der Addition von Halogenwasserstoffen an die hier untersuchten Diene wird im Reaktions-ablauf ein lineares Carbeniumion angenommen. Das Proton wird in 1-Stellung addiert und in einem zweiten Schritt wird das Halogenion in 2- oder 4-Stellung angelagert. Weiter wird angenommen, daß Hyperkonjugation beim intermediären Carbeniumion eine Rolle spielt. Aus den mit der Hückel-theorie ermittelten Ladungsverteilungen und Lokalisierungsenergien läßt sich dann voraussagen, daß (1) das 1,2-Produkt bei Butadien und Isopren, (2) das 1,4-Produkt bei Chloropren kinetisch und (3) das 1,4-Produkt in allen Fällen thermodynamisch bevorzugt ist. Diese Voraussagen scheinen mit den bekannten experimentellen Resultaten übereinzustimmen.

Résumé On admet que l'hydrohalogénation d'un diène dans des conditions où prévaut un mécanisme ionique comporte comme première étape la formation d'un ion carbonium linéaire par addition d'un proton à la position 1 et comme seconde étape l'addition de l'ion halogène à l'une des positions 2 ou 4. Si l'on admet par ailleurs que l'hyperconjuguaison joue un rôle non négligeable dans l'intermédiaire carbonium, l'emploi de la théorie de Hückel permet de prédire à l'aide des densités de charge et des énergies de localisation (1) que le produit 1,2 est favorable du point de vue cinétique dans les cas du butadiène et de l'isoprène (2) que le produit 1,4 est favorable du point de vue cinétique dans le cas du chloroprène et (3) que le produit 1,4 est favorable du point de vue thermodynamique dans tous ces systèmes. Toutes ces prédictions sont apparemment en accord avec les résultats expérimentaux disponibles.

The system BaF2/AlF3 is investigated by X-ray and D.T.A., and the liquid-solid phase diagram is established. Five ternary fluorides are disclosed: trimorphic BaAlF5, Ba3Al2F12, Ba5AlF19, polymorphic Ba3AlF9 and Ba5AlF13. Neutron thermodiffractometry experiments are performed to specify some parts of the diagram. The cell parameters of the fluorides are given and the results are discussed and compared with those of the previous works.  相似文献
