Carbamoylmethylphosphoryl Compounds: Ch-Acidity and Basicity

Abstract

Carbamoylmethylphosphoryl compounds (CMP) are used as neutral bifunctional extractants. However, little is known about acid-base properties of these compounds. We have studied CH-acidity and basicity of selected CMP, RR′P(O)CH₂C(O)NEt₂ with R,R′ = Alk, Alk₂N, Ar, AlkO, and also H-complexes of CMP with HNO₃.     

Prediction of the penetrating power of metallic shaped charge jets subjected to an intense electric current pulse

A method for evaluating the penetrating (piercing) power of shaped charges under the condition when an intense electric current pulse is applied to a shaped charge jet is developed. The buildup of waist-type MHD instability and the volume damage of the jet material are viewed as possible mechanisms behind a reduction of the penetrating power of a shaped charge jet under the current action. With this method, electrodynamic action parameters that provide a significant reduction of the penetrating power of a shaped charge jet are calculated for shaped charges of various penetrability.     

N-(1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyrazol-4-yl)-P,P-diphenylamidophosphinate and its complexes with neodymium(III), erbium(III), thorium(IV), and uranyl nitrates: Synthesis and crystal and molecular structure

A new phosphoryl-containing ligand based on 4-aminoantipyrine-N-(1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyrazol-4-yl)-P,P-diphenylamidophosphinate (L) was synthesized. In crystals, the L molecules were found to be combined in centrosymmetric dimers through N-H…O=C hydrogen bonds. The complexes of L with neodymium(III), erbium(III), thorium(IV), and uranyl nitrates were obtained, and their structures were determined. The bands of the C=O and P=O groups in the IR spectra of these complexes are shifted toward low frequencies (by 50–65 and 40–70 cm⁻¹, respectively), which is indicative of a bidentate coordination of the organophosphorus ligand. According to the X-ray crystallography data, uranyl is bidentately coordinated by both the L molecule (through the C=O and P=O groups) and two nitrate anions.     

Spectrozonal digital X-ray diagnostics of explosive processes, based on imageplate detectors separated by an absorber

A method that uses overlapping calibration wedges, made from the materials being investigated and placed alongside an object, is proposed for calculating the individual thicknesses of two-component objects. On detectors separated by an absorber, images in two different ranges of X-ray hardness are recorded with a single flash. As a result, there is no need to know the spectrum of X-ray radiation source or the spectral characteristics of the radiographed objects or the detector in order to solve the inverse problem.
