A novel water-holding adsorbent bonded with a zwitterionic polymer, diallylamine–maleic acid copolymer, was developed. With this adsorbent, hydrophilic solutes are partitioned by a hydration layer that forms on the zwitterions, as a main separating force. When the adsorbent was used to separate saccharides by normal-phase partition chromatography, the saccharides eluted in the order, mono-, di- and trisaccharide. The elution profile for mono- and di-saccharides was similar but not identical to that on anion exchange columns. This indicated that the adsorbent exhibited a complex retention behavior by the existence of both anion and cation exchange moieties in the functional polymer. Selecting Na+ as a counter-ion of the maleate moiety enhanced the retention of saccharide. When used in an high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system with gradient elution, the adsorbent enabled the simultaneous analysis of mono-, di- and oligosaccharides. 相似文献

A large enhancement of the Faraday rotation, which is associated with localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), was obtained in a sample with Au nanoparticles embedded in a Bi-substituted yttrium iron garnet (Bi:YIG) film. On a quartz substrate, Au nanoparticles were formed by heating an Au thin film, and a Bi:YIG film was then deposited on them. A sample containing the Au nanoparticles produced by 1000 °C heating showed a resonant attenuation with narrower bandwidth in the transmission spectrum than nanoparticles of other samples formed by low-temperature heating. The sharp resonant Faraday rotation angle was 4.4 times larger than the estimated intrinsic Bi:YIG film at the LSPR wavelength; the angular difference was 0.14°. A discrepancy in the bandwidth between the transmission attenuation and the resonant Faraday rotation is discussed. 相似文献

This paper investigates the relationship between the pre-annealing conditions and the thermal stability of uniaxially-drawn poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) films in order to clarify their technical limits in terms of temperatures that can be used for assembly processes and for practical applications. Specimens that are pre-annealed below their melting temperature apparently shrink in the stretch-direction when they are exposed to elevated temperatures above the pre-annealing temperature. Since the content of β-PVDF in the films decreases simultaneously with the shrinkage, their piezoelectric properties also deteriorate. In addition, there is a suggestion that the level of polarization in the remaining β-phase decreases significantly during annealing above 90-100 °C. However, the dimensions and the piezoelectric coefficients of the films remain stable during annealing below the pre-annealing temperature. Therefore, the thermal stability of PVDF films can be controlled practically by using the appropriate pre-annealing temperature. By contrast, the films were softened at 90-100 °C when the pre-annealing treatment was conducted above the melting temperature. The softening of films that are pre-annealed above the melting temperature is a different phenomenon from that observed in specimens that are pre-annealed below the melting temperature. 相似文献

For precise X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurement giving the three-dimensional structure of proteins, it is important to prepare high-quality single crystals with suitable shape. As a new processing technique to obtain such protein crystals, we employed femtosecond laser-induced cleaving of protein crystal in a growth vessel containing water solution. An intact protein crystal was precisely processed without mechanical contact in its sealed growth vessel by focusing femtosecond laser pulses. We confirmed that three-dimensional processing of the crystal in its supersaturated solution was realized using multiphoton absorption and that the processing was efficiently enhanced by the cleaving behavior attributed to a photomechanical mechanism of the femtosecond laser ablation. 相似文献

We report on efficient generation of 1550-nm photon pairs in a periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide using the spontaneous parametric down-conversion process. Such photon pairs are expected to find applications in fiber-based long-distance quantum communication. Pumping the waveguide with a pulsed semiconductor laser with a pulse rate of 800 kHz and a maximum average pump power of 50 μW, we obtain a coincidence rate of 600 s−1. Despite only two single-photon detectors are used, we gain some information about the photon-number distribution. Our measurements are found to be in agreement with a Poissonian photon-pair distribution, but clearly differ from the expected outcomes for both conventional and two-mode squeezed states, the latter corresponding to a thermal photon-pair distribution. The Poissonian photon-pair distribution is also explained by comparing the coherence time of the pump light and of the detected photons. An average of 0.9 generated photon pairs per pulse can thus be inferred. 相似文献
