We have searched for a deeply bound kaonic state by using the FINUDA spectrometer installed at the e(+)e(-) collider DAPhiNE. Almost monochromatic K(-)'s produced through the decay of phi(1020) mesons are used to observe K(-) absorption reactions stopped on very thin nuclear targets. Taking this unique advantage, we have succeeded to detect a kaon-bound state K(-)pp through its two-body decay into a Lambda hyperon and a proton. The binding energy and the decay width are determined from the invariant-mass distribution as 115(+6)(-5)(stat)(+3)(-4)(syst) MeV and 67(+14)(-11)(stat)(+2)(-3)(syst) MeV, respectively. 相似文献

Spatiotemporal correlations of earthquakes are studied numerically on the basis of the one-dimensional spring-block (Burridge-Knopoff) model. As large events approach, the frequency of smaller events gradually increases, while, just before the mainshock, it is dramatically suppressed in a close vicinity of the epicenter of the upcoming mainshock, a phenomenon closely resembling the "Mogi doughnut." 相似文献

A surface preparation method with fine SiO2 particles in water is developed to flatten Si(0 0 1) surfaces on the nanometer scale. The flattening performance of Si(0 0 1) surfaces after the surface preparation method is investigated by scanning tunneling microscopy. The observed surface is so flat that 95% of the view area (100 × 100 nm2) is composed of only three atomic layers, namely, one dominant layer occupying 50% of the entire area and two adjacent layers. A beam of multi-MeV helium ions has been observed from the interaction of a short-pulse high-intensity laser pulse with underdense helium plasma. The ion beam was found to have a maximum energy for He2+ of (40(+3)(-8)) MeV and was directional along the laser propagation path, with the highest energy ions being collimated to a cone of less than 10 degrees. 2D particle-in-cell simulations show that the ions are accelerated by a sheath electric field that is produced at the back of the gas target. This electric field is generated by transfer of laser energy to a hot electron beam, which exits the target generating large space-charge fields normal to its boundary. 相似文献

We demonstrate widely tunable soliton and dispersive wave source generation in a highly nonlinear tellurite microstructured
fiber pumped by a 1550 nm femtosecond fiber laser. The spectral range covered by the soliton and dispersive wave source is
as wide as 1100 nm from 1150 to 2250 nm. It is shown that the spectral linewidth of the soliton and dispersive wave can be
controlled by changing the length of the tellurite microstructured fiber easily owing to the dispersion-induced pulse broadening

Enhanced soliton trapping of dispersive waves in a tapered tellurite microstructured fiber pumped by a 1556 nm femtosecond
fiber laser is demonstrated. The short wavelength edge of supercontinuum light is extended from 960 to 600 nm after tapering
the tellurite microstructured fiber, which is caused by the enhanced soliton trapping of dispersive waves owing to the changing
group velocities in tapered fibers. Wide-band supercontinuum light source spanning from 600 to >2400 nm is generated in tapered
tellurite micro-structured fibers. Our experimental and simulated results show that short length (several centimeters) zero-dispersion-wave
length decreasing highly nonlinear fiber has a potential for generating wideband supercontinuum light source expanding from

We have investigated the photoluminescence (PL) properties of trace amounts of Pr and Tb in single-crystal samples of yttria-stabilized zironia (YSZ), and found that Pr of the order of 10−6 mass% and Tb of the order of 10−5 mass% in YSZ can be detected by the PL spectroscopy. The PL spectra of the YSZ samples for the 280 nm excitation were comprised of several peaks and a broad emission. The peaks were attributed to transitions of Pr3+ and Tb3+ in the YSZ samples, whereas the broad emission seemed to be attributed to the yttria-associated oxygen vacancies. The peak intensities corresponded to the amounts of Pr and Tb in the YSZ samples, the amounts of which were analyzed by glow discharge mass spectrometry. In the PL excitation spectra, but not in the photoabsorption spectra, small peaks at 376 and 381 nm were observed, and were attributed to the transitions of Tb3+ in the YSZ samples. The results of the PL excitation spectra corresponding to the Pr3+ line emissions suggest that the charge transfer occurs between the YSZ and Pr ion in it. The trace amounts of these lanthanoids in YSZ would disturb the decay process of the photoinduced electrons to the yttria-associated oxygen vacancies. 相似文献
