The photoexcitation of a self-assembled M6L4-type coordination cage accommodating photochemically inert alkane guests (e.g., adamantane and cyclooctane) led to the regioselective oxidation of the guest within the cage. Under anaerobic conditions, the guest oxidation was accompanied by the stable radical formation as indicated by ESR spectrometry (g = 2.002) and change in solution color (from colorless to blue). These phenomena were shown to be characteristic of the self-assembled molecular systems: i.e., from the M6L4 supersetGn assembly, none of the components (M, L, or G) can be eliminated for the unusual oxidation and/or radical formation. 相似文献

The pyrazoline derivative edaravone is a potent hydroxyl radical scavenger that has been approved for attenuation of brain damage caused by ischemia-reperfusion. In the present work, we first determined the rate constant, k(r), at which edaravone scavenges radicals generated by a Fenton reaction in aqueous solution in the presence of the spin trap agent, 5,5-dimethyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide (DMPO), which competed with edaravone. We detected the edaravone radicals in the process of hydroxyl radical scavenging and found that edaravone reacts with hydroxyl radical around the diffusion limit (k(r)=3.0 x 10(10) M(-1) s(-1)). The EPR (electron paramagnetic resonance) spectrum of the edaravone radical was observed by oxidation with a horseradish peroxidase-hydrogen peroxide system using the fast-flow method. This radical species is unstable and changed to another radical species with time. In addition, it was found that edaravone consumed molecular oxygen when it was oxidized by horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-H(2)O(2) system, and that edaravone was capable of providing two electrons to the electrophiles. The possible mechanisms for oxidation of edaravone were investigated from these findings. 相似文献

The asymmetric conjugate addition of arylcopper reagents to chiral 1-[2-(p-tolylsulfinyl)]indolyl and 1-[3-(p-tolylsulfinyl)]indolyl enones was examined. With the 2-sulfinyl-indolyl derivatives, the reaction of the arylcopper reagent gave high diastereoselectivities (81-88% de's) to afford the adducts in excellent yields, although the similar addition reaction of the 3-sulfinyl derivatives afforded poor diastereoselectivities. 相似文献

We have succeeded in measuring the resistance across a single atomic step through a monatomic-layer metal on a crystal surface, Si(111)(sqrt[3]xsqrt[3])-Ag, using three independent methods, which yielded consistent values of the resistance. Two of the methods were direct measurements with monolithic microscopic four-point probes and four-tip scanning tunneling microscope probes. The third method was the analysis of electron standing waves near step edges, combined with the Landauer formula for 2D conductors. The conductivity across a monatomic step was determined to be about 5 x 10(3) Omega(-1) m(-1). Electron transport across an atomic step is modeled as a tunneling process through an energy-barrier height approximately equal to the work function. 相似文献
