The relationship between the coordination geometry and photophysical properties of trans-bis[(β-iminomethyl)naphthoxy]platinum(II) was investigated both experimentally and theoretically. A series of platinum(II) complexes with differently substituted iminomethyl groups were synthesized, and their photophysical properties were examined in solution, in the crystalline, and in the PMMA film-dispersed state, respectively (PMMA=poly(methyl methacrylate)). These complexes showed structure-dependent emission spectra, in which the color of the luminescence in the crystalline state varied over a range of about 40 nm depending on the specific bowl-shaped molecular structure. The chiral complexes with (R,R)- and (S,S)-configurations were found to have structure-dependent chiroptical properties both in solution and the PMMA film-dispersed state such that the intensity of circular dichroism (CD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) were enhanced with bulky cyclic substituents at the nitrogen atoms. A theoretical study using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent (TD)-DFT calculations revealed that the enhancement of chiroptical responses is due to the amplification of the magnetic dipole moment caused by the distortion of the square planar geometry. 相似文献

This is the second part of a study examining the mechanical properties and capillary flow of fiber suspensions in Newtonian fluids and in polymer solutions. In part I results for the viscous and elastic properties of the fiber suspensions were presented and it was shown that the fiber suspensions exhibited normal stresses in Newtonian as well as in viscoelastic suspending media. It was thus expected that circulating secondary flows would occur near the entrance to a capillary. Four types of fillers (glass, carbon, nylon and vinylon fibers) suspended in glycerin, HEC solutions and Separan solutions were investigated. The entrance flow patterns were visualized and the pressure fluctuations measured. The visualization enabled the eddies occurring in the fiber suspensions in Newtonian fluids to be analysed and classified into two tpyes. The results from the flow visualization were correlated with the pressure fluctuations. Empirical equations for the tube length correction factor due to the elasticity were obtained. 相似文献

Nanostructured Ag films composed of nanoparticles and nanorods can be formed by the ultrasonication of ethanol solutions containing Ag2O particles. The present work examined the formation process of these films from ethanol solutions by two different agitation methods, including ultrasonication and mechanical stirring. The mass-transfer process from Ag2O particles to ethanol solvent is accelerated by the mechanical effects of ultrasound. Ag+ ions and intermediately reduced Ag clusters were released into the ethanol. These Ag+ ions and Ag clusters provide absorption bands at 210, 275 and 300 nm in UV-vis spectra. These bands were assigned to the absorption of Ag+, Ag 4 2+ and Agn (n?≈?3). The Agn clusters that readily grow to become Ag nanoparticles were formed due to the surface reaction of Ag2O particles with ethanol under ultrasonication. The reactions of Ag+ ions in ethanol to form Ag nanomaterials (through the formation of Ag 4 2+ clusters) were also accelerated by ultrasonication. 相似文献

An electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopic study of radicals induced in irradiated fresh mangoes was performed. Mangoes in the fresh state were irradiated with γ-rays, lyophilized and then crushed into a powder. The ESR spectrum of the powder showed a strong main peak at g = 2.004 and a pair of peaks centered at the main peak. The main peak was detected from both flesh and skin specimens. This peak height gradually decreased during storage following irradiation. On the other hand, the side peaks showed a well-defined dose–response relationship even at 9 days post-irradiation. The side peaks therefore provide a useful means to define the irradiation of fresh mangoes. 相似文献

A series of Alq3 thin films with the thicknesses of 50, 100, and 200 nm was deposited on Si substrates at room temperature
using the thermal evaporation method. The thermal crystallization process of Alq3 thin films, especially 50 nm thick films,
was successfully examined using high-temperature X-ray diffraction (HT-XRD) with the in-plane scan mode. Film thickness, density,
and changes in surface roughness while heating were determined using X-ray reflectometry (XRR). The decreased density and
increased surface roughness, which were accompanied by sublimation, indicate the instability of the Alq3 film. Thus, thermal
