Abstract
This paper reveals three patterns of bouncing behaviors of suspension drops containing calcium carbonate (CaCO3) powder on a superhydrophobic surface with the aid of a high-speed camera. In transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation, the particles of CaCO3 are shaped like sticks whose equivalent diameters are about 700 nm. Unlike a pure water drop, dense suspension drops cannot be pinched off at the bounce on the superhydrophobic surface due to a high effective viscosity, whereas the equilibrium contact angle appears to be almost identical in all kinds of droplets. 相似文献192.

We report on investigations of high-order harmonic generation from solid surfaces in the coherent wake emission regime with relativistically intense few-cycle (8 fs) laser pulses. Significant spectral broadening compared to previous experiments with many-cycle pulses and the appearance of substructures on the harmonics are observed that strongly fluctuate from shot-to-shot. Measurements in which the linear polarization was rotated or ellipticity of the laser pulse was varied exhibit a strong dependence of the harmonic emission on the polarization state of the incident pulse. We show that the observed spectral features are ultimately connected to the sub-cycle electron dynamics in the laser-solid interaction and thus proof of the few-cycle nature of the observed harmonic emission. Using a simple model we have investigated the factors that play an important role in the shape of the emitted spectrum. 相似文献

Graphene is a two-dimensional carbon material with a honeycomb lattice and Dirac-like low-energy excitations. When Zeeman and spin-orbit interactions are neglected, its Landau levels are fourfold degenerate, explaining the 4e2/h separation between quantized Hall conductivity values seen in recent experiments. In this Letter we derive a criterion for the occurrence of interaction-driven quantum Hall effects near intermediate integer values of e2/h due to charge gaps in broken symmetry states. 相似文献

Breakthrough mode liquid chromatography was employed to investigate calcium (Ca) isotope fractionation in methanol medium. Highly porous silica beads, the inner pores of which were embedded with a benzo-18-crown-6 ether resin, were used as column packing material. Enrichment of heavier isotopes of Ca was observed in the frontal part of the respective Ca chromatograms. The values of the isotope fractionation coefficient (?) were in the order of 10?3 at 25 °C. Use of methanol as solvent has little advantage over the aqueous system as far as the values of ? are concerned. However, a substantial improvement was observed concerning the adsorption capacity of the crown ether resin for Ca ions. The electrical breakdown of microwave plasma in water was investigated between 1 and 30 kPa. The dependency of the ignition power for generating plasma on the size of coaxial electrode was measured. The ignition power decreases with a decrease of the diameter of the inner electrode. The behavior of microwave plasma in water was observed using a high-speed camera. The plasma ignites in a bubble generated by microwave heating. The model for calculating the electric field was created on the basis of the captured images of the bubble just before plasma ignition. The method presented can be used to visualize the electrical field distribution in the bubble. The electric field breakdown was calculated using the measured ignition power. The electric field breakdown of plasma in water is of the same order as gas phase plasma. 相似文献

The defect structures in orthorhombic C54 crystallites in thin films of Mo-doped TiSi 2 produced by co-sputtering have been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Almost all C54 crystallites contain a twin boundary parallel to (101), dividing a crystallite into two regions, each of which also contains many thin twins with the habit plane parallel to (001), which is inclined by about 45° from (101). Both of the two regions divided by the twin boundary parallel to (101) tend to have facets on (001) as well as thin twins with the habit plane parallel to (001). As a result, C54 crystallites exhibit a characteristic shape just like an oak leaf. While twins with the (001) habit plane have been observed in C54 crystallites in both binary and Mo-doped TiSi 2 thin films, those with the (101) habit plane are present only in Mo-doped TiSi 2 thin films. The twinning elements for (101) twins are determined to be K 1 = (101), , K 2 = (001) and m2 = [100]. The origin of (101) twins in Mo-doped TiSi 2 is discussed in terms of the change in the c / a axial ratio upon alloying TiSi 2 with Mo. 相似文献

The effect of different milling conditions on the formation of Fe-doped TiO2 powders by mechanical alloying was investigated by Mössbauer spectrometry. The milling conditions investigated were ball to powder weight ratio, milling time, rotation velocity of supporting disc, and the type of starting reactive iron and its concentration. X-ray diffraction shows that high energy mechanical milling of undoped anatase TiO2 induce the anatase to rutile phase transformation via high pressure srilankite. Mössbauer spectra for the majority of the doped samples were decomposed into one sextet and one or two doublets. The sextets was attributed to the presence of α-Fe or hematite impurities. The doublets were assigned to Fe3?+? incorporated in the TiO2 structure, and to the Fe2?+? located either at the surface or the interstitial sites of TiO2. A greater incorporation of Fe in the TiO2 structure was observed when samples were prepared from hematite instead of α-Fe. 相似文献
