θ problem and composite quarks

It is argued that a wide class of composite models of quarks and leptons contain an automatic solution of the strong P and CP problem, having an axion of the type of Kim and Shifman, Vainshtein and Zakharov.     

Effects of alcohols on the aqueous solubility of disperse dyes

Summary The solubility of azobenzene in water and aqueous alcohol solutions was determined at 5 °C intervals from 0° to 40 °C. Prom the results the thermodynamic parameters for the transfer of one mole of azobenzene from water to aqueous alcohol solution were calculated. It was found that the process was endothermic: furthermore, it was invariably accompanied by a positive unitary entropy change. The solubilizing mechanism of alcohols was explained in terms of an adduct-formation with the compound to be dissolved by means of hydrophobic interaction.     

Chiral β-dimethylaminoalkylphosphines. Highly efficient ligands for a nickel complex catalyzed asymmetric grignard cross-coupling reaction

Chiral β-dimethylaminoalkylphosphines were prepared starting with amino acids, (S)-alanine, (S)-phenylalanine, (R)-phenylglycine, (S)-valine, and (R)-tert-leucine. The chiral phosphines were found to be highly efficient ligands for a nickel catalyzed asymmetric Grignard cross-coupling reaction (38～94% optical yield).     

Nernstian adsorbate-like bulk layer of organic radical polymers for high-density charge storage purposes

Redox polymer layers with 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-oxyl-4-yl (TEMPO) groups showed nernstian adsorbate-like electrochemical behaviors up to submicrometer thicknesses, based on a fast charge propagation within the bulk layer and persistency in electrolyte solutions.
