The elimination kinetics of ethyl N‐benzyl‐N‐cyclopropylcarbamate and ethyl diphenylcarbamate were investigated over the temperature range of 349.9–440.0°C and the pressure range of 31–106 Torr. These reactions have been found to be homogeneous, unimolecular, and obey a first‐order rate law. The products are ethylene, carbon monoxide, and the corresponding secondary amine. The rate coefficient is expressed by the following Arrhenius equations: For ethyl N‐benzyl‐N‐cyclopropylcarbamate log k1 (s?1) = (12.94 ± 0.09) ? (198.5 ± 0.9) kJ mol?1 (2.303RT)?1 For ethyl diphenylcarbamate log k1 (s?1) = (12.91 ± 0.18) ? (208.2 ± 2.4) kJ mol?1 (2.303RT)?1 The presence of phenyl and bulky groups at the nitrogen atom of the ethylcarbamate showed a decrease in the rate of elimination. Steric factor may be operating during the process of decomposition of these substrates. A rapid, sensitive and selective method is described for the determination of chromium(VI) in presence of 100-fold amounts of chromium(III) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) in conjunction with coprecipitative preconcentration of its ethyl xanthate complex onto naphthalene. The solid mixture consisting of the chromium(VI) complex together with naphthalene is dissolved in 8.0 ml of dimethyl formamide (DMF) and chromium(VI) content was established by FAAS. Calibration graphs were rectilinear over the chromium(VI) concentration in the range 0-200 μg l−1. Five replicate determinations of 20 μg of chromium(VI) present in 1.0 l of sample solution gave a relative standard deviation of 3.1%. The detection limit corresponding to three times the standard deviation of the blank was found to be 0.5 μg l−1. The developed procedure has been successfully utilized for the estimation of chromium(VI), chromium(total) (after oxidation with bromate) and chromium(III) (by subtracting chromium(VI) content from chromium(total) value contents of several tannery industries.  相似文献

Amberlite XAD-4 has been functionalized by coupling it with 5-aminoquinoline-8-ol after acetylation. The resulting resin has been characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectra and has been used for preconcentrating uranyl ions prior to its determination by spectrophotometry. The optimum pH value for quantitative sorption is 4-6, and desorption can be achieved by using 5 mL of 1 mol L(-1) HCl. The sorption capacity of the resin is 11.5 mmol g(-1). The effect of various cations and anions on the preconcentration of uranium in conjunction with the determination procedure has been studied and we have found that none of the ions interfere except thorium. The enrichment factor for preconcentration of uranium was found to be 200. Ten replicate determinations of 40 micro g of uranium present in 1 L of sample gave a mean absorbance of 0.185 with a relative standard deviation of 2.64%. The detection limit corresponding to three times the standard deviation of the bank was found to be 2 micro g L(-1). The validation of the developed preconcentration procedure was carried out by successfully analyzing standard marine sediment reference material. The uranyl content of sediment and soils is estimated by spectrophotometry after its preconcentration with the above chelating resin.  相似文献

Four Lewis acidic silver phosphane complexes partnered with [1-closo-CB(11)H(12)](-) and [1-closo-CB(11)H(6)Br(6)](-) have been synthesised and studied by solution NMR and solid-state X-ray diffraction techniques. In the complex [Ag(PPh(3))(CB(11)H(12))] (1), the silver is coordinated with the carborane by two stronger 3c-2e B-H-Ag bonds, one weaker B-H-Ag interaction and a very weak Ag.C(arene) contact in the solid state. In solution, the carborane remains closely connected with the [Ag(PPh(3))](+) fragment, as evidenced by (11)B chemical shifts. Complex 2 [Ag(PPh(3))(2)(CB(11)H(12))](2) adopts a dimeric motif in the solid state, each carborane bridging two Ag centres. In solution at low temperature, two distinct complexes are observed that are suggested to be monomeric [Ag(PPh(3))(2)][CB(11)H(12)] and dimeric [Ag(PPh(3))(2)(CB(11)H(12))](2). With the more weakly coordinating anion [CB(11)H(6)Br(6)](-) and one phosphane, complex 3 [Ag(PPh(3))(CB(11)H(6)Br(6))] is isolated. Complex 4, [Ag(PPh(3))(2)(CB(11)H(6)Br(6))], has been characterised spectroscopically. All of the complexes have been assessed as Lewis acids in the hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of N-benzylideneaniline with Danishefsky's diene. Exceptionally low catalyst loadings for this Lewis acid catalysed reaction are required (0.1 mol %) coupled with turnover frequencies of 4000 h(-1) (quantitative conversion to product after 15 minutes using 3 at room temperature). Moreover, the reaction does not occur in rigorously dry solvent as addition of a substoichiometric amount of water (50 mol %) is necessary for turnover of the catalyst. It is suggested that a Lewis assisted Br?nsted acid is formed between the water and the silver. The effect of changing the counterion to [BF(4)](-), [OTf](-) and [ClO(4)](-) has also been studied. Significant decreases in reaction rate and final product yield are observed on changing the anion from [CB(11)H(6)Br(6)](-), thus demonstrating the utility of weakly coordinating carborane anions in organic synthesis.  相似文献

Degenerate two-photon absorption (TPA) spectral properties of five AFX chromophore solutions have been studied using a single and spectrally dispersed sub-picosecond white-light continuum beam. In a specially designed optical configuration, optical pathways inside the sample solution for different spectral components of the focused continuum beam were spatially separated from each other. Thus, the nondegenerate TPA processes coming from different spectral components can be eliminated, and the direct nonlinear absorption spectrum attributed to degenerate TPA processes can be readily obtained. Using this new technique, the complete TPA spectra for these five highly two-photon-active compounds (AF-380, AF-350, AF-295, AF-270, and AF-50) were obtained in the spectral range from 600 to 950 nm on an absolute scale of TPA cross section. The relationship between the molecular structures and their TPA spectral behaviors are discussed. In general the measured TPA spectra are not identical with the linear absorption spectra on the scale of absorbed photon(s) energy. Moreover, for some sample (such as AF-380), the TPA spectrum is totally different from the linear spectrum, which implies the difference of molecular transition pathways and selection rules for one- and two-photon excitation processes. At high excitation intensity levels (>or=15 GW/cm(2)), the saturation behavior of TPA transition can be observed obviously in AF-350 and AF-380 solutions that exhibit much higher nonlinear absorptivity than the other chromophores investigated.  相似文献

The extraction of anionic chloro-complexes of certain metal ions using various long-chain quaternary ammonium halides in toluene and chloroform is described. The investigation has concerned itself mainly with coualt(II) and iron(III); a few extractions have also been carried out with indium(III) and gallium(in). The ion association of chloro-anionic complexes of iron, cobalt, indium and gallium in aqueous chloride media (hydrochloric acid or lithium chloride) with the quaternary ammonium ion in the organic phase is responsible for the extraction of the metal ion into the organic phase. Tlic extraction efficiency varies with the nature of the metal ion system involved as well as with the distribution of the quaternary compound and the size, shape and nature of the organic groups substituted in the quaternary compound.  相似文献

Synthesis of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5H-[1]benzopyrano[3,4-c]pyridin-5-ones via a Pechmann condensation of 3-carbethoxy-1-methyl-4-piperidone with various phenols is described. The limitations of this method are discussed. Synthesis of the parent ring system 3a via reduction of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-3-(phenylmethyl)-8-[(1-phenyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)oxy]-5H-[1]benzopyrano[3,4-c]pyridin-5-one ( 5 ) is also described.  相似文献
