Magnetoluminescence of the exciton bound to a neutral acceptor was measured to investigate the electronic structure of a shallow acceptor center in GaN. The application of magnetic fields along different directions with respect to the crystal c axis allowed us to determine the symmetry of the ground (Gamma(9)) and the first excited state (Gamma(7)) of the acceptor. The observed Zeeman splitting pattern has axial symmetry but can be explained well only by assuming a significant reduction of the spin-orbit interaction for this acceptor state. Because of this reduction, the energy structure of the neutral acceptor is found to be very sensitive to any local, axial perturbation.  相似文献

A DC-space (or space of dense constancies) is a Tychonoff space X such that for each f C(X) there is a family of open sets {U i : i I}, the union of which is dense in X, such that f, restricted to each U i , is constant. A number of characterizations of DC-spaces are given, which lead to an algebraic generalization of the concept, which, in turn, permits analysis of DC-spaces in the language of archimedean f-algebras. One is led naturally to the notion of an almost DC-space (in which the densely constant functions are dense), and it is shown that all metrizable spaces have this property.  相似文献

Topological properties of native folds are obtained from statistical analysis of 160 low homology proteins covering the four structural classes. This is done analyzing one, two and three-vertex joint distribution of quantities related to the corresponding network of amino acid residues. Emphasis on the amino acid residue hydrophobicity leads to the definition of their center of mass as vertices in this contact network model with interactions represented by edges. The network analysis helps us to interpret experimental results such as hydrophobic scales and fraction of buried accessible surface area in terms of the network connectivity. Moreover, those networks show assortative mixing by degree. To explore the vertex-type dependent correlations, we build a network of hydrophobic and polar vertices. This procedure presents the wiring diagram of the topological structure of globular proteins leading to the following attachment probabilities between hydrophobic–hydrophobic 0.424(5), hydrophobic-polar 0.419(2) and polar–polar 0.157(3) residues.  相似文献

The alloys between a transition metal and a rare earth present magnetic and magneto optical properties of exceptional interest for the production of magnetic devices for information storage. In this work we report the magnetic and structural properties, obtained by Mössbauer spectrometry (MS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD), of Tb0.257?x Nd x Fe0.743 alloys with x?=?0 and 0.257 prepared by mechanical alloying during 12, 24 and 48 h, to study the influence of the milling time in their magnetic and structural properties. The X-rays results show for all the samples that the α-Fe and an amorphous phase are always present. The first decreases and the second increases with the increase of the milling time. Mössbauer results show that the amorphous phase in samples with Nd is ferromagnetic and appears as a hyperfine field distribution and a broad doublet, and that as the milling time increases the paramagnetic contribution increases. For samples with Tb the amorphous phase is paramagnetic and appears as a broad doublet which increases with the milling time and for 48 h milling it appears an additional broad singlet.  相似文献
