The use of a novel inexpensive photometric device, a paired emitter-detector diode (PEDD) has been applied to the colorimetric determination of phosphate using the malachite green spectrophotometric method. The novel miniaturized flow detector applied within this manifold is a highly sensitive, low cost, miniaturized light emitting diode (LED) based detector. The optical flow cell was constructed from two LEDs, whereby one is the light source and the second is the light detector, with the LED light source forward biased and the LED detector reversed biased. The photocurrent generated by the LED light source discharges the junction capacitance of the detector diode from 5 V (logic 1) to 1.7 V (logic 0) and the time taken for this process to occur is measured using a simple timer circuit.The malachite green (MG) method employed for phosphate determination is based on the formation of a green molybdophosphoric acid complex, the intensity of which is directly related to phosphate concentration. Optimum analytical parameters such as reaction kinetics, reagent to sample concentration ratio and emitter wavelength intensity were investigated for the spectrophotometric method. Linear calibration plots that obeyed the Beer-Lambert law were obtained for phosphate in the range of 0.02-2 μM. The dynamic range, sensitivity and limits of detection are reported. 相似文献

The conversion and efficient storage of solar energy is recognized to hold significant potential with regard to future energy solutions. Molecular solar thermal batteries based on photochromic systems exemplify one possible technology able to harness and apply this potential. Herein is described the synthesis of a macrocycle based on a dimer of the dihydroazulene/vinylheptafulvene (DHA/VHF) photo/thermal couple. By taking advantage of conformational strain, this DHA–DHA macrocycle presents an improved ability to absorb and store incident light energy in chemical bonds (VHF–VHF). A stepwise energy release over two sequential ring‐closing reactions (VHF→DHA) combines the advantages of an initially fast discharge, hypothetically addressing immediate energy consumption needs, followed by a slow process for consistent, long‐term use. This work deals with the formation of inclusion complexes between cinnamaldehyde and two synthetic alkylcarbonates of γ-cyclodextrin, namely ethylcarbonate-γ-CD and octylcarbonate-γ-CD. Complexation was monitored by phase-solubility studies, by FT-IR spectroscopy and by DSC and TG analysis.
The diffusion of cinnamaldehyde through a cellulose membrane was investigated in the absence and in the presence of each of
the two γ-CD alkylcarbonates. Studies on photostability and stability over time were carried out on different cosmetic formulations
containing pure cinnamaldehyde or an equivalent amount of cinnamaldehyde complexed with the two alkylcarbonates.
Phase-solubility diagrams, DSC, FTIR and TGA analysis suggested the formation of inclusion complexes. The diffusion of cinnamaldehyde
through the cellulose membrane decreased in the presence of the two alkylcarbonates confirming the interaction of this molecule
with the inclusion agents.
Moreover the stability of cinnamaldehyde to light and heat resulted increased by complexing this fragrance material with the

For the preparation of proteins for proteome analysis, precipitation is frequently used to concentrate proteins and to remove interfering compounds. Various methods for protein precipitation are applied, which rely on different chemical principles. This study compares the changes in the protein composition of human blood platelet extracts after precipitation with ethanol (EtOH) or trichloroacetic acid (TCA). Both methods yielded the same amount of proteins from the platelet preparations. However, the EtOH-precipitated samples had to be dialyzed because of the considerable salt content. To characterize single platelet proteins, samples were analyzed by two-dimensional fluorescence differential gel electrophoresis. More than 90% of all the spots were equally present in the EtOH- and TCA-precipitated samples. However, both precipitation methods showed a smaller correlation with nonprecipitated samples (EtOH 74.9%, TCA 79.2%). Several proteins were either reduced or relatively enriched in the precipitated samples. The proteins varied randomly in molecular weight and isoelectric point. This study shows that protein precipitation leads to specific changes in the protein composition of proteomics samples. This depends more on the specific structure of the protein than on the precipitating agent used in the experiment. 相似文献

The eighteen new μ-alkylidene ruthenium complexes 5a–r and 5t are very easily and cleanly obtained along the diazoalkane or the hydrazone routes that involve treatment of the dinuclear, metal-metal doubly bonded precursor compound [(η5-C5H5)Ru(μ-NO)]2 (3) either with the diazoalkanes oxidizing agent (e.g., MnO2), with the respective hydrazones. Similarly, sulfur dioxide adds cleanly to the RuRu double bond of 3, thus giving the complex (μ-SO2)[(η5-C5H5)Ru(NO)]2 (5s). Regardless of the nature of the carbene bridge ligands, the dimetallacyclopropanes exhibit, in contrast to their iron analogues, exclusively terminal nitrosyl ligands. cis/trans-Isomerism with predominating amounts of the trans-isomers is observed for the derivatives that display unsymmetrically substituted carbene bridges.Treatment of the μ-methylene- and μ-ethylidene complexes (μ-CH2)[(η5-C5H5)Ru(NO)]2 (5a) and (μ-CHCH3)[(η5-C tetrafluoroboric acid or trifluoromethanesulfonic acid in diethyl ether yields, at ambient temperature, quantitatively the ionic complexes 6a,b and 7a,b, respectively, which were shown by 1H NMR spectroscopy to contain metal-metal bridging hydrogen functionalities.
