The magnetic susceptibility of the semiconducting lanthanide cuprates Nd2CuO4, Pr2CuO4, Eu2CuO4, and Sm2CuO4 has been measured in the range 4–300 K. Below 300 K, the Cu2+ ions are ordered antiferromagnetically in the CuO2 planes of these compounds, and the exchange interactions involving the Ln3+ ions are relatively weak. The suceptibility of the Ln3+ ions obeys the Curie-Weiss law at elevated temperatures, but deviations from this law occur at lower temperatures. An attempt is made to account for these deviations by fitting theoretical expressions for the susceptibility of isolated Ln3+ ions under the influence of a cubic crystal field to the experimental data. Excellent agreement is obtained for Nd3+ and Eu3+ over the entire temperature range and for Pr3+ and Sm3+ at elevated temperatures. Deviations at lower temperatures for the latter two ions may be due to structural changes, exchange interactions involving the Ln3+ ions, or possibly oxygen nonstoichiometry. The susceptibility parameters derived by fitting the theoretical expressions to the experimental data are also discussed. It is concluded that these compounds form an interesting new series of planar Cu2+-ion antiferromagnets.  相似文献

A method is proposed for differentiating brominated carbons from chlorinated carbons by means of natural-abundance 13C NMR spectroscopy. The basis of the method is that the spin-lattice relaxation behaviour of brominated carbons is influenced by carbon-bromine scalar interactions, which can lead to shortened 13C spin-lattice relaxation times and reduced values of the nuclear Overhauser enhancement. C-Cl scalar interactions make a negligible contribution to the spin-lattice relaxation of chlorinated carbons. These effects are illustrated by measurement of the 13C spin-lattice relaxation times and integrated intensities of chloro-, bromo and iodobenzene and chloro-, bromo- and iodocyclohexane. The method is then tested on four polyhalogenated marine natural products. The results indicate that 13C relaxation measurements can be used to distinguish brominated carbons from chlorinated carbons in the case of halogenated quaternary carbons, sp2 hydridized methine carbons and some sp3 hydridized methine carbons, but not in the case of halogenated methylene carbons or gem-dihalo substituted methine carbons.  相似文献

A novel reaction sequence leading to the synthesis of substituted biphenyls containing a carbonyl group in an aliphatic chain has been achieved in one-pot reaction starting from iodoarenes and allylic alcohols under the catalytic action of palladium and norbornene. The latter is temporarily incorporated into a palladacycle, which directs the reaction towards the selective formation of an arylaryl bond. Norbornene spontaneously deinserts to allow the biphenylylpalladium bond thus formed to react in its turn with the allylic alcohol.  相似文献

The standard (p(o) = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpy of formation of crystalline 2H-1,3-benzoxazine-2,4(3H)dione was measured, at T= 298.15 K, by static bomb calorimetry and the standard molar enthalpy of sublimation, at T= 298.15 K, was obtained using Calvet microcalorimetry. These values were used to derive the standard molar enthalpy of formation in the gaseous phase, T= 298.15 K, of -(401.0 +/- 3.5) kJ mol(-1). The standard molar enthalpy of sublimation of isatoic anhydride was recalculated, and our recommended experimental value for the standard molar enthalpy of formation in the gaseous phase, T= 298.15 K, is -(406.2 +/- 3.4) kJ mol(-1). Density functional calculations for the two isomers 2H-1,3-benzoxazine-2,4(3H)dione and isatoic anhydride, in which the ring nitrogen and oxygen have been transposed, confirm the experimental evidence of nearly identical thermochemical stability for these isomers.  相似文献

A new method for detecting hydrogen bonds in the solid state is presented. Using two-dimensional NMR correlation experiments, it is shown that a hydrogen-bond mediated J coupling can be observed in a powder under magic-angle spinning conditions, even though the J coupling is 2 orders of magnitude smaller than the dominant anisotropic interactions encountered in solid-state NMR. Specifically, the observation of a pair of peaks in a two-dimensional 15N-15N solid-state INADEQUATE experiment due to two nitrogens that have no covalent connectivity is attributed to the presence of a J coupling across a linking hydrogen bond.  相似文献

Chelating or metallacycle-forming substrates are very useful for directing organometallic reactions. This review covers the more recent research that has been carried out in the authors' laboratory. Rhodium(I)- and (III)-catalysed reactions of C---C coupling of butadiene with N-allylamides or N-alkylbutenamides are described. These reactions are controlled by the size and strength of the chelate ring formed by double-bond insertion into the crotyl-rhodium bond (formed from butadiene) and their regioselectivity can change with the oxidation state of the metal. Rhodium(I)-catalysed reactions of butadiene with enamides are also chelation controlled and lead to different products, depending on the substituents at nitrogen. Cobalt(II) metallacycles have been utilized for promoting some organic reactions. It has been shown that alkenes can be catalytically incorporated into cobaltacyclopentadiene rings, that spirocycles can be obtained from diynes, carbon monoxide and acrylic esters and that a Pauson-Khand-type reaction can be combined with a Michael-type reaction to prepare catalytically new cyclopentenones. The use of palladacycles, derived from norbornene insertion into aryl-palladium bonds, followed by cyclization, has allowed the selective functionalization of either end of the metallacycle and the formation of condensed rings. Conversion of a palladium(II) into a palladium(IV) metallacycle, and catalytic processes involving these intermediates, have been achieved. The formation of alkylaromatic palladacycles has also been exploited for the selective meta functionalization of the aromatic moiety by means of alkyl groups, accompanied by expulsion of the norbornene molecule.  相似文献

For Part II of our ongoing study, we present a strategy for stationary phase optimization for the capillary electrochromatographic (CEC) separation of the 12 methylated benzo[a]pyrene (MBAP) isomers. Utilizing the optimum mobile phase conditions from Part I of our study as a guide, seven commercially available stationary phases have been evaluated for their ability to separate highly hydrophobic MBAP isomers. Ranging in design from high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to CEC application, each phase was slurry packed in house and tested for CEC suitability and performance. Several stationary phase parameters were investigated for their effects on MBAP separation including bonding type (monomeric or polymeric, % carbon loading, surface coverage), pore size, particle size, and type of alkyl substituent. In this manner, the present state of commercially available packings has been assessed in our laboratory. Utilizing the optimum polymeric C18-5 microm-100 A-PAH stationary phase, the effects of CEC packed bed length and capillary inside diameter (I.D.) were also evaluated. A 50 microm I.D. capillary, 25 cm packed bed length and 75% (v/v) acetonitrile, 12.5 mM Tris, pH 8.0, 20 degrees C at 30 kV, provided resolution of 11 out of 12 MBAP isomers thus showing the effectiveness of CEC for analysis of structurally similar methylated polyaromatic hydrocarbons.  相似文献

The thermal decompositions of methyl azidoformate (N3COOMe), ethyl azidoformate (N3COOEt) and 2-azido-N,N-dimethylacetamide (N3CH2CONMe2) have been studied by matrix isolation infrared spectroscopy and real-time ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. N2 appears as an initial pyrolysis product in all systems, and the principal interest lies in the fate of the accompanying organic fragment. For methyl azidoformate, four accompanying products were observed: HNCO, H2CO, CH2NH and CO2, and these are believed to arise as a result of two competing decomposition routes of a four-membered cyclic intermediate. Ethyl azidoformate pyrolysis yields four corresponding products: HNCO, MeCHO, MeCHNH and CO2, together with the five-membered-ring compound 2-oxazolidone. In contrast, the initial pyrolysis of 2-azido-N,N-dimethyl acetamide, yields the novel imine intermediate Me2NCOCH=NH, which subsequently decomposes into dimethyl formamide (HCONMe2), CO, Me2NH and HCN. This intermediate was detected by matrix isolation IR spectroscopy, and its identity confirmed both by a molecular orbital calculation of its IR spectrum, and by the temperature dependence and distribution of products in the PES and IR studies. Mechanisms are proposed for the formation and decomposition of all the products observed in these three systems, based on the experimental evidence and the results of supporting molecular orbital calculations.  相似文献

Tests have been made to benchmark and assess the relative accuracies of low-order multireference perturbation theories as compared to coupled cluster (CC) and full configuration interaction (FCI) methods. Test calculations include the ground and some excited states of the Be, H(2), BeH(2), CH(2), and SiH(2) systems. Comparisons with FCI and CC calculations show that in most cases the effective valence shell Hamiltonian (H(v)) method is more accurate than other low-order multireference perturbation theories, although none of the perturbative methods is as accurate as the CC approximations. We also briefly discuss some of the basic differences among the multireference perturbation theories considered in this work.  相似文献
