Potentiometric and Thermometric Determination of Mercaptopyrimidines
Potentiometric and thermometric methods for the determination of several 2- and 6-mercaptopyrimidines are described. Mercapto groups can be titrated as acids in water or in dimethylformamide media. The use of acetic acid as solvent allows titration of the basic pyrimidine nucleus. Thermometric titrimetry is also a valuable procedure for the titration of mercapto groups, either directly with sodium hydroxide or by back-titration with hydrochloric acid after addition of excess of alkali. About 10–25 mg of sample can be determined with an error better than 1%. 相似文献

Summary The distribution equilibria of 3-phenyl-3-methyl-2-mercaptopropenoic acid (PhMMP), pyridine and the titanium (IV)-PhMMP complex in the presence of pyridine have been studied in the chloroform-water system. An extraction-photometric method for the determination of micro amounts of titanium has been developed. The synergistic effect of pyridine, and the influence of pH, the reagent concentration and the presence of electrolytes and masking agents on the equilibrium have been determined. From slope analysis of the distribution curves, the composition of the extracted species has been found to be Ti(OH)2(HR)2·py. The complex is extracted quantitatively. Beer's law is obeyed over the range 0.09–4.30g/ml titanium (IV) and the molar absorptivity is 1.30×1041·mole–1·cm–1 at 447 nm. The method has been applied to the determination of titanium in ceramics.
Über die Extraktion und spektrophotometrische Bestimmung von Titan(IV) mit 3-Phenyl-3-methyl-2-mercaptopropensäure mit Hilfe der synergistischen Wirkung des Pyridins
Zusammmenfassung Das Verteilungsgleichgewicht von 3-Phenyl-3-methyl-2-mercaptopropensäure (PhMMP), Pyridin und Titan-PhMMP-Komplex in Gegenwart von Pyridin wurde in einem Wasser-Chloroform-System untersucht. Eine extraktionsphotometrische Methode für die Bestimmung von Mikromengen Titan(IV) wurde ausgearbeitet. Die synergistische Wirkung des Pyridins sowie der Einfluß des pH, des Reagens und der Gegenwart von Elektrolyten und maskierenden Reagenzien in der wäßrigen Phase auf das Gleichgewicht wurden bestimmt. Aus der Richtung der Verteilungskurven wurde für den extrahierten Komplex die Zusammensetzung Ti(OH)2(HR)2·py ermittelt. Der Komplex wird quantitativ extrahiert. Das Beersche Gesetz ist von 0,09–4,30g·ml–1 Ti(IV) erfüllt, der molare Absorptionskoeffizient ist 1,13·1041·mol–1·cm–1; die Sandell-Empfindlichkeit beträgt 3,7ng·cm–2 bei 447 nm. Diese Methode wurde für die Bestimmung von Titan in keramischem Material verwendet.相似文献

The oxazole yellow dye, YOYO-1 (a symmetric homodimer), is a commonly used molecule for staining DNA. We applied the brightness analysis to study the intercalation of YOYO-1 into the DNA. We distinguished two binding modes of the dye to dsDNA: mono-intercalation and bis-intercalation. In the era of the Internet of Things, there are many applications where numerous devices are deployed to acquire information and send it to analyse the data and make informed decisions. In these applications, the power consumption and price of the devices are often an issue. In this work, analog coding schemes are considered, so that an ADC is not needed, allowing the size and power consumption of the devices to be reduced. In addition, linear and DFT-based transmission schemes are proposed, so that the complexity of the operations involved is lowered, thus reducing the requirements in terms of processing capacity and the price of the hardware. Biomphalaria glabrata snails constitute the main vector of schistosomiasis in Brazil, and Bauhinia monandra Kurz, the leaves of which contain BmoLL lectin with biocidal action, is a plant widely found on continents in which the disease is endemic. This work describes the composition of B. monandra preparations and the effect on embryos and adult snails, their reproduction parameters and hemocytes. We also describe the results of a comet assay after B. glabrata exposure to sublethal concentrations of the preparations. Additionally, the effects of the preparations on S. mansoni cercariae and environmental monitoring with Artemia salina are described. In the chemical evaluation, cinnamic, flavonoid and saponin derivatives were detected in the two preparations assessed, namely the saline extract and the fraction. Both preparations were toxic to embryos in the blastula, gastrula, trochophore, veliger and hippo stages (LC50 of 0.042 and 0.0478; 0.0417 and 0.0419; 0.0897 and 0.1582; 0.3734 and 0.0974; 0.397 and 0.0970 mg/mL, respectively) and to adult snails (LC50 of 6.6 and 0.87 mg/mL, respectively), which were reproductively affected with decreased egg deposition. In blood cell analysis, characteristic cells for apoptosis, micronucleus and binucleation were detected, while for comet analysis, different degrees of nuclear damage were detected. The fraction was able to cause total mortality of the cercariae and did not present environmental toxicity. Therefore, B. monandra preparations are promising in combating schistosomiasis since they can control both the intermediate host and eliminate the infectious agent, besides being safe to the environment. 相似文献

Agropyron repens (L.) P. Beauv. (couch grass) is a world-wide infesting rhizomatous plant with pharmacological applications. Chemical research is focused on its allelopathic and anti-inflammatory components, which are mainly present in the essential oil. Conversely, the aqueous extracts have been sparingly investigated, although the herbal tea is by far the most used formulation. To fill the gap, the metabolic profile of Agropyron repens rhizome herbal tea was investigated by electrospray ionization (ESI) tandem–mass spectrometry (MS/MS); the phenolic profile was investigated by HPLC-PDA-ESI-MS/MS. ESI-MS fingerprinting was provided, evidencing diagnostic ions for saccharides, organic acids and amino acids. The HPLC-PDA-ESI-MS/MS analysis evidenced at least 20 characteristic phenolic compounds, the most representative being caffeoyl and feruloyl quinic esters, followed by coumaric, caffeic and ferulic acids, and hesperidin among flavonoids. In addition, the essential amino acid tryptophan was identified for the first time. The results suggest new perspectives of applications for Agropyron repens rhizome. 相似文献

The genus Cetraria s. str. (Parmeliaceae family, Cetrarioid clade) consists of 15 species of mostly erect brown or greenish yellow fruticose or subfoliose thallus. These Cetraria species have a cosmopolitan distribution, being primarily located in the Northern Hemisphere, in North America and in the Eurasia area. Phytochemical analysis has demonstrated the presence of dibenzofuran derivatives (usnic acid), depsidones (fumarprotocetraric and protocetraric acids) and fatty acids (lichesterinic and protolichesterinic acids). The species of Cetraria, and more particularly Cetraria islandica, has been widely employed in folk medicine for the treatment of digestive and respiratory diseases as decoctions, tinctures, aqueous extract, and infusions. Moreover, Cetraria islandica has had an important nutritional and cosmetic value. These traditional uses have been validated in in vitro and in vivo pharmacological studies. Additionally, new therapeutic activities are being investigated, such as antioxidant, immunomodulatory, cytotoxic, genotoxic and antigenotoxic. Among all Cetraria species, the most investigated by far has been Cetraria islandica, followed by Cetraria pinastri and Cetraria aculeata. The aim of the current review is to update all the knowledge about the genus Cetraria covering aspects that include taxonomy and phylogeny, morphology and distribution, ecological and environmental interest, phytochemistry, traditional uses and pharmacological properties. 相似文献

Ilex paraguariensis, the holly tree, is a plant with recognized biological properties, whose aqueous infusions are known as “Yerba mate”, that regulate lipid metabolism, reduce obesity, and improve brain stimulation. In the present study, the effect of standardized saponin and terpenoid fractions of a European taxon, Ilex aquifolium, on blood biochemical parameters in a rat model of metabolic disorder, (fa/fa) Zucker, are presented. The profiles of the volatile fractions of two species and six European varieties of Ilex were investigated. After selecting the best variety, the saponin and terpenoid fractions were isolated and standardized, and animals were fed 10 mg kg−1 b.w. for 8 weeks. A statistically significant decrease in liver adiposity was observed, confirmed by histology and quantitative identification (gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analyses of hepatic lipids. RT-qPCR analysis of gene expression in the aorta revealed that the administration of the terpenoid fraction downregulated LOX-1, suggesting a reduction in atherosclerotic stimuli. In addition, a statistically significant reduction (p < 0.05) in PPARγ for the saponin fraction was observed in the liver. The expression of the ACAT-1 gene in the liver, responsible for the formation of cholesterol esters, increased significantly in the group receiving the terpenoid fraction compared to the control, which was also confirmed by the analysis of individual blood biochemical parameters. The opposite effect was observed for saponins. Taking the above into account, it is shown for the first time that Ilex aquifolium can be a source of compounds that positively influence lipid metabolism. 相似文献

Influenza viruses are transmitted from human to human via airborne droplets and can be transferred through contaminated environmental surfaces. Some works have demonstrated the efficacy of essential oils (EOs) as antimicrobial and antiviral agents, but most of them examined the liquid phases, which are generally toxic for oral applications. In our study, we describe the antiviral activity of Citrus bergamia, Melaleuca alternifolia, Illicium verum and Eucalyptus globulus vapor EOs against influenza virus type A. In the vapor phase, C. bergamia and M. alternifolia strongly reduced viral cytopathic effect without exerting any cytotoxicity. The E. globulus vapor EO reduced viral infection by 78% with no cytotoxicity, while I. verum was not effective. Furthermore, we characterized the EOs and their vapor phase by the head-space gas chromatography–mass spectrometry technique, observing that the major component found in each liquid EO is the same one of the corresponding vapor phases, with the exception of M. alternifolia. To deepen the mechanism of action, the morphological integrity of virus particles was checked by negative staining transmission electron microscopy, showing that they interfere with the lipid bilayer of the viral envelope, leading to the decomposition of membranes. We speculated that the most abundant components of the vapor EOs might directly interfere with influenza virus envelope structures or mask viral structures important for early steps of viral infection. 相似文献
