Bismuth as BiCl4− and BH4− ware successively retained in a column (150 mm × 4 mm, length × i.d.) packed with Amberlite IRA-410 (strong anion-exchange resin). This was followed by passage of an injected slug of hydrochloric acid resulting in bismuthine generation (BiH3). BiH3 was stripped from the eluent solution by the addition of a nitrogen flow and the bulk phases were separated in a gas–liquid separator. Finally, bismutine was atomized in a quartz tube for the subsequent detection of bismuth by atomic absorption spectrometry. Different halide complexes of bismuth (namely, BiBr4−, BiI4− and BiCl4−) were tested for its pre-concentration, being the chloride complexes which produced the best results. Therefore, a concentration of 0.3 mol l−1 of HCl was added to the samples and calibration solutions. A linear response was obtained between the detection limit (3σ) of 0.225 and 80 μg l−1. The R.S.D.% (n = 10) for a solution containing 50 μg l−1 of Bi was 0.85%. The tolerance of the system to interferences was evaluated by investigating the effect of the following ions: Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Fe3+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Hg2+, Zn2+, and Mg2+. The most severe depression was caused by Hg2+, which at 60 mg l−1 caused a 5% depression on the signal. For the other cations, concentrations between 1000 and 10,000 mg l−1 could be tolerated. The system was applied to the determination of Bi in urine of patients under therapy with bismuth subcitrate. The recovery of spikes of 5 and 50 μg l−1 of Bi added to the samples prior to digestion with HNO3 and H2O2 was in satisfactory ranges from 95.0 to 101.0%. The concentrations of bismuth found in six selected samples using this procedure were in good agreement with those obtained by an alternative technique (ETAAS). Finally, the concentration of Bi determined in urine before and after 3 days of treatment were 1.94 ± 1.26 and 9.02 ± 5.82 μg l−1, respectively. 相似文献

Summary A rapid and sensitive method for the simultaneous determination of primary amino acids in apple is described. After sample preparation, amino acids were derivatized with o-phthaldialdehyde/2-mercaptoethanol and separated on a reversed phase column with a gradient of phosphate buffer-tetrahydrofuran-methanol as the mobile phase. Detection was carried out with a fluorescence detector at excitation and emission wavelengths of 340 nm and 425 nm respectively. Recovery studies showed good results for all substances (91–109%) (with coefficients of variation ranging, from 0.1 to 9.0%). A procedure is described for the enzymatic digestion of tuna and mussel samples that allows the determination of selenium species by high-performance liquid chromatography in conjunction with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The species were extracted by two-step enzymatic hydrolysis with a non-specific protease (subtilisin). The selenium species were separated on a Spherisorb 5 ODS/AMINO column using two different chromatographic conditions, namely phosphate buffers at pH 2.8 and pH 6.0 as mobile phases. The method determines organic (trimethylselenonium, selenocystine, selenomethionine and selenoethionine) and inorganic selenium species (selenite and selenate), but only organic selenium species were found in the samples. The sum of identified selenium species in the sample was about 30% of the total selenium present in the enzymatic extract despite the fact that recoveries of total hydrolysed selenium were 93-102%. Trimethylselenonium ion and selenomethionine were found in both tuna and mussel samples and an unknown selenium species was also found in tuna samples. 相似文献

A room-temperature flow injection spectrofluorimetric method is presented for the determination of Zn(II), based on the use of salicylaldehyde thiocarbohydrazone in the presence of Triton X-100 and sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer. Various physical and chemical variables affecting the reaction in the flow system were evaluated. The proposed method is very selective. The calibration graph is linear over the range 10-1000 ng/ml, with a detection limit of 5 ng/ml and a relative standard deviation at the 50 ng/ml level of 1.8 %. The structure and ordering of nanoparticles of gold functionalized with n-alkyl thiol molecules are studied both experimentally and theoretically. Samples where produced using n=6 to n=16 alkyl thiol molecules. High Resolution Electron Microscopy coupled with image processing was used to study the gold particle structure. The details of the particle structure are discussed. We found that when the gold surface is saturated with thiol molecules there is some tendency to produce molecules with a disulphide structure. We also show that ordered arrays of particles can be produced using Langmuir-Blodgett techniques. The crystal structure of the films produced is studied and found to be 3D hcp. We also report that thiol covered gold particles with a size of 5 nm present a rounded shape suggesting that thiol molecules might induce an isotropic surface energy. It is found in the theoretical calculations that a strong bond between gold and sulphur is required to stabilize the complex metal-n-alkyl thiol. It is predicted that otherwise a heavily distorted nanocore will be formed. This is contrary to the observed structure of the particles. 相似文献

Three new cadmium-based coordination polymers, denoted [Cd(hfipbb)(4,4’-bipy)] ( CdPF-1 ), [Cd(hfipbb)(2,2’-bipy)] ( CdPF-2 ), and [Cd(hfipbb)(1,10-phen)] ( CdPF-3 ), have been hydrothermally synthesized by using the well-known V-shaped organic linker 4,4’-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)bis(benzoic acid) (H2hfipbb), together with different nitrogenated auxiliary linkers. Considering the d10 configuration of the transition metal selected, the luminescent properties for these CdPF-n materials were explored, finding that materials CdPF-2 and CdPF-3 act as excellent sensors in the detection of explosive nitro aromatic compounds. The photoluminescence properties of CdPF-2 and CdPF-3 revealed that significant and sensitive fluorescence quenching was observed toward NP (nitrophenol) for CdPF-2 and PA (picric acid) for CdPF-3 in MeOH suspensions. 相似文献

In this article, we report on the synthesis and thermotropic behaviour of methacrylic polymers containing 4′-(4-alkyloxyphenyl)azobenzene mesogens attached to the backbone through n-alkyloxy spacers of 6 or 10 methylene groups. Polymerisations were carried out via free radicals using azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator. Chemical structures of polymers and their precursors were characterised by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that azopolymers are thermally stable up to temperatures around 300°C. The thermotropic liquid-crystalline (LC) behaviour was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Results indicate that all synthesised mesogens, monomers and polymers developed two or more orthogonal LC phases in wide temperature ranges. Mesogens and monomers developed nematic and smectic phases, whereas polymers exhibited only smectic phase. In polymers, the arrangement of mesogens depends on the relative length of the spacer and the terminal flexible chain; two distinct structural models were proposed based on chemical interactions and steric constrains. The trans–cis photoisomerisation of monomers and polymers in solution was also studied. High cis-isomer contents (>80%) were reached in relative short irradiation times despite the steric constrains imposed by the polymer backbone. 相似文献
