Network alignment (NA) is a popular research field that aims to develop algorithms for comparing networks. Applications of network alignment span many fields, from biology to social network analysis. NA comes in two forms: global network alignment (GNA), which aims to find a global similarity, and LNA, which aims to find local regions of similarity. Recently, there has been an increasing interest in introducing complex network models such as multilayer networks. Multilayer networks are common in many application scenarios, such as modelling of relations among people in a social network or representing the interplay of different molecules in a cell or different cells in the brain. Consequently, the need to introduce algorithms for the comparison of such multilayer networks, i.e., local network alignment, arises. Existing algorithms for LNA do not perform well on multilayer networks since they cannot consider inter-layer edges. Thus, we propose local alignment of multilayer networks (MultiLoAl), a novel algorithm for the local alignment of multilayer networks. We define the local alignment of multilayer networks and propose a heuristic for solving it. We present an extensive assessment indicating the strength of the algorithm. We investigate the effects of external and autonomous global interaction fields on an adaptive network of social agents with an opinion formation dynamics based on a simple imitation rule. We study the competition between global fields and adaptive rewiring on the space of parameters of the system. The model represents an adaptive society subject to global mass media such as a directed opinion influence or feedback of endogenous cultural trends. We show that, in both situations, global mass media contribute to consensus and to prevent the fragmentation of the social network induced by the coevolutionary dynamics. We present a discussion of these results in the context of dynamical systems and opinion formation dynamics. 相似文献

The mammalian skeletal system is densely innervated by both neural and vascular networks. Peripheral nerves in the skeleton include sensory and sympathetic nerves. The crosstalk between skeletal and neural tissues is critical for skeletal development and regeneration. The cellular processes of osteogenesis and angiogenesis are coupled in both physiological and pathophysiological contexts. The cellular and molecular regulation of osteogenesis and angiogenesis have yet to be fully defined. This review will provide a detailed characterization of the regulatory role of nerves and blood vessels during bone regeneration. Furthermore, given the importance of the spatial relationship between nerves and blood vessels in bone, we discuss neurovascular coupling during physiological and pathological bone formation. The Fe protein of nitrogenase plays multiple roles in substrate reduction and metallocluster assembly. Best known for its function to transfer electrons to its catalytic partner during nitrogenase catalysis, the Fe protein is also a key player in the biosynthesis of the complex metalloclusters of nitrogenase. In addition, it can function as a reductase on its own and affect the ambient reduction of CO2 or CO to hydrocarbons. This review will provide an overview of the properties and functions of the Fe protein, highlighting the relevance of this unique FeS enzyme to areas related to the catalysis, biosynthesis, and applications of the fascinating nitrogenase system. 相似文献

The main objective of this research was to study the biological characteristics in terms of antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of Ajuga iva and determine the best analytical and extraction methods applicable to this specie and studied compounds. A short screening of its nutritional value in terms of chemical composition is also included. A. iva leaves were analyzed for crude protein (CP), cell wall [neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), and acid detergent lignin (ADL)], minerals, fatty acids, essential oils, and phenolic compounds. Mature aerial parts of A. iva were randomly collected during the Spring season from Mograne-Zaghouan, Tunisia. Leaves of A. iva contained 13.4 ± 0.4% CP, 26.3 ± 0.35% NDF, 20.2 ± 0.42% ADF, and 5.13 ± 0.21% ADL. Mineral content (13.0 ± 0.45%) was mainly composed of potassium (4.5% g DM) and magnesium (4.25% DM). Leaves of A. iva had linolenic (26.29 ± 0.760%) and linoleic (37.66 ± 2.35%) acids as the main components of the acid profile. Thymol was found to be the most dominant (23.43%) essential oil, followed by 4-vinylguaiacol (14.27%) and linalool (13.66%). HPLC-PDA-ESI-MS/MS analysis pointed out the presence of phytoecdysteroids. Phenolic acids and flavonoids, such as glycosylated derivatives of naringenin, eriodyctiol, and apigenin, were detected in the methanol extract of A. iva leaves. Our results underline the importance of choosing proper extraction methods and solvents to extract and characterize the described compounds profile of A. iva leaves. Results also show A. iva leaves as a potential source of functional ingredients with beneficial health-promoting properties. Overall, leaves of A. iva have low biological activities (antioxidant and antimicrobial activities) with a chemical composition suitable as a feed for ruminants in rangeland pasture. Iron valence-to-core Fe Kβ X-ray emission spectroscopy (V2C XES) is established as a means to identify light atoms (C, N, O) within complex multimetallic frameworks. The ability to distinguish light atoms, particularly in the presence of heavier atoms, is a well-known limitation of both crystallography and EXAFS. Using the sensitivity of V2C XES to the ionization potential of the bound ligand, energetic shifts of ~10 eV in the ligand 2s ionization energies of bound C, N, and O may be observed. As V2C XES is a high-energy X-ray method, it is readily applicable to samples in any physical form. This method thus has great potential for application to multimetallic inorganic frameworks involved in both small molecule storage and activation. 相似文献

The aim of the study was to determine total trace (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb and Zn) and major (Al and Fe) element concentrations in calcareous soils using microwave-assisted digestion procedures. The literature showing lack of consensus regarding digestion procedures and unsatisfying recoveries for calcareous materials, four procedures using various acid combinations (HCl, HNO3, H2O2, HF) and volumes were tested using a certified reference material (CRM 141R) and natural calcareous soil samples. Digests were analysed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Repeatability (R.S.D. <5%) and recoveries (82-116%) showed that the procedures were precise and accurate for most elements. Five calcareous soil samples from a Champagne vineyard plot were, then, subjected to these procedures. In calcareous materials, the presence of HF resulted in Al being severely underestimated (recovery <5%) and Co overestimated (recovery >124%) due to complex formation or spectrochemical interferences, respectively. As digestion was not significantly influenced by the addition of H2O2, the procedure corresponding to Aqua regia (HCl-HNO3) appeared as the best compromise and was selected for further multielemental environmental studies on calcareous materials, even if the absence of HF could lead to incomplete digestion of accessory silicate minerals. Results for a vineyard plot showed that the soils were contaminated (3.65 mg kg−1 Cd, 67 mg kg−1 Cr, 278 mg kg−1 Cu, 143 mg kg−1 Pb and 400 mg kg−1 Zn) as a consequence of urban waste and copper-treatment applications. 相似文献
