Experiments based on FT-ICR mass spectrometry provide conclusive evidence for the operation of an alternative mechanism of electrophilic aromatic substitution occurring within the complex formed upon addition of gaseous arenium ions to a variety of proelectrophiles, including alkyl halides, alcohols, epoxides, esters and diazoalkanes. Phosphoric acid anodizing solutions are routinely titrated to monitor their concentrations; however, after successive anodizations of aluminum metal, increasing amounts of dissolved aluminum interfere with the neutralization titration. The true concentration of phosphoric acid is determined by a correction factor based on the concentration of the dissolved aluminum, which is determined industrially by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Summary. The study of delphinidin complexation with trivalent aluminum in acidic aqueous buffered (pH 3.0 and 3.8) and methanolic solutions was performed utilizing electronic absorption spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations.
In its structure delphinidin possesses several chelating sites in competition towards aluminum(III). Molar ratio plots denoted
the formation of only one aluminum(III):delphinidin complex of stoichiometry of 1:1 in both investigated media. Semiempirical
calculations, performed at the restricted HF AM1 level, enabled the determination of the structural features of free delphinidin and structural modifications caused by
chelation of aluminum(III). Considering the pigment molecular structure and the results of the theoretical calculations it

The carbonaceous component in the Milan urban particulate matter, i.e. the two components black carbon (BC) and organic carbon (OC), has been measured by means of a thermogravimetric analyzer combined with an infrared spectrophotometer (TGA/FT-IR). While black carbon may be considered a primary pollutant, organic carbon includes both primary emissions and secondary organic aerosols. Since carbonaceous aerosol (including a small quantity of inorganic carbon, too) makes up roughly from 25% to 50% of the average annual PM 2.5 mass concentration, a deeper understanding of this component is required. The TGA/FT-IR technique, employed for the first time to our knowledge for the quantification of the particulate matter carbonaceous component, allows, thought the results here presented are preliminary, to assess the two components BC and OC in a simple way especially if compared with the methods reported in the literature. The total carbon (TC) determinations performed by TGA/FT-IR on Milan urban particulate matter are in good agreement with the results obtained by a total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer operating directly on the solid sample. 相似文献

The highly anisotropic material CsBi(4)Te(6) was prepared by the reaction of Cs/Bi(2)Te(3) around 600 degrees C. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with a = 51.9205(8) A, b = 4.4025(1) A, c = 14.5118(3) A, beta = 101.480(1) degrees, V = 3250.75(11) A(3), and Z = 8. The final R values are R(1) = 0.0585 and wR(2) = 0.1127 for all data. The compound has a 2-D structure composed of NaCl-type [Bi(4)Te(6)] anionic layers and Cs(+) ions residing between the layers. The [Bi(4)Te(6)] layers are interconnected by Bi-Bi bonds at a distance of 3.2383(10) A. This material is a narrow gap semiconductor. Optimization studies on the thermoelectric properties with a variety of doping agents show that the electrical properties of CsBi(4)Te(6) can be tuned to yield an optimized thermoelectric material which is promising for low-temperature applications. SbI(3) doping resulted in p-type behavior and a maximum power factor of 51.5 microW/cm.K(2) at 184 K and the corresponding ZT of 0.82 at 225 K. The highest power factor of 59.8 microW/cm.K(2) at 151 K was obtained from 0.06% Sb-doped material. We report here the synthesis, physicochemical properties, doping characteristics, charge-transport properties, and thermal conductivity. The synthesis of 1-(4-substituted)benzyl-6-hydroxyisoquinolines, to be evaluated in the displacement of the specific 3H-ouabain binding to Na+,K+-ATPase, is described. The key step involved a cyclization to the isoquinoline ring under Pictet-Gams conditions which was best performed with the 6-hydroxy group protected as the benzyl ether. When an unsaturated ester group was present in position 4 of the 1-benzyl group, this was best introduced before the cyclization step, since the IIeck reaction on 1-(4-bromobenzyl)-6-hydroxyisoquinoline ( 8 ) with acrylic acid derivatives was not successful in all cases. 相似文献

To determine the influence of various culture conditions, transformed cells of Escherichia coli expressing recombinant green fluorescent protein (GFPuv) were grown in nine cultures with four variable conditions (storage
of inoculated broth at 4°C prior to incubation, agitation speed, isopropyl-β-d-thiogalactopyranoside [IPTG] concentration, and induction time). The pelleted cells were resuspended in extraction buffer
and subjected to the three-phase partitioning (TPP) extraction method. To determine the most appropriate purification resin,
protein extracts were eluted through one of four types of HiTrap hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) columns prepacked
with methyl, butyl, octyl, or phenyl resins and analyzed further on a 12% sodium dodecylsulfatepolyacrylamidegel. With Coomassie
staining, a single band between 27 (standard GFPuv) and 29 kDa (molecular weight standard) was visualized for every HIC column
sample. TPP extraction with HIC elution provided about 90% of the GFPuv recovered and eight-fold GFPuv enrichment related
to the specific mass. Rotary speed and IPTG concentration showed, respectively, greater negative and positive influences on

Hydrogen peroxide, the product of diamine oxidase-catalyzed putrescine or cadaverine oxidation, formed in proportion to the enzyme activity, is measured spectrophotometrically by using the above sulfonate (ABTS) and peroxidase. Only one reagent solution containing 3 mmol of putrescine or 10 mmol of cadaverine, 4 mmol of ABTS and 3000 U of peroxidase per litre of 0.2 mol l-1 Tris—0.1 mol l-1 HCl buffer pH 7.5 is needed. Absorbance changes are measured at 410 nm over the first 3 min of the reaction. This initial oxidation rate of the chromogen enables diamine oxidase activity up to 230 U l-1 to be determined. 相似文献
