Several importance sampling strategies are developed and tested for stereographic projection diffusion Monte Carlo in manifolds. We test a family of one parameter trial wavefunctions for variational Monte Carlo in stereographically projected manifolds which can be used to produce importance sampling. We use the double well potential in one dimensional Euclidean space to study systematically sampling issues for diffusion Monte Carlo. We find that diffusion Monte Carlo with importance sampling in manifolds is orders of magnitude more efficient compared to unguided diffusion Monte Carlo. Additionally, diffusion Monte Carlo with importance sampling in manifolds can overcome problems with nonconfining potentials and can suppress quasiergodicity effectively. We obtain the ground state energy and the wavefunction for the Stokmayer trimer.  相似文献

The photochemistry of six pregna-1,4-dien-3,20-diones has been compared and found to involve both the cyclohexadienone moiety in ring A and the isolated ketone at C-20. The two reactions take place proportionally to the fraction of light absorbed by each chromophore. The cross-conjugated ketone absorbs predominantly or exclusively at both 254 and 366 nm and undergoes the "lumi" rearrangement to bicyclo[3.1.0]hex-3-en-2-one. The quantum yield of the reaction diminished somewhat with increasing lambda(exc), e.g., for prednisolone Phi(254) (nm) = 0.42, Phi(366) (nm) = 0.3. A much stronger lowering is caused by halogen substitution in position 9 (by a factor of 3 for F, >50 for Cl), apparently due to a shortened triplet lifetime caused by heavy atom effect. At 310 nm, both chromophores absorb to a comparable degree and both may react. The reaction at C(20) ketone involves either quite efficient alpha-cleavage (C(17)-C(20)) for compounds bearing an acetal or hydroxyl function at C(17) or less effective (by a factor of ca. 10) hydrogen abstraction from the 18-methyl group in the other cases (finally resulting in Norrish II fragmentation or Yang cyclization). The results allow generalizing how the substitution pattern surrounding each chromophore affects the photoreactivity at that site and the competition between the two modes, allowing predicting the photochemistry of this family of antiinflammatory drugs.  相似文献

In the comparison of formamide and urea photocatalytic degradation, despite their similar structures, the final fate of bound nitrogen under illumination with TiO2 has shown a different behaviour; both the rate and the ratio of NH4+ and NO3- ion evolution seem not to be linked to the initial nitrogen oxidation state, but to the carbon oxidation state.  相似文献

Polydiolcitrates are an emerging class of biocompatible polyesters with a great potential in the field of biomedicine and packaging for food and drug materials. In this work, a new type of (co‐)polydiolcitrates made of citric acid (CA) and ethylene glycol (EG) and/or poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) is investigated. By varying both the EG/PEG and the CA/diol molar ratios, materials exhibiting very different swelling behavior, mechanical and thermal properties are obtained. In particular, the substitution of EG segments with longer and flexible PEG ones results in an increase in crosslinking density, with remarkable effects on swelling capacity, glass transition temperature, and Young modulus. Moreover, polyesters with CA/diol molar ratio equal to 1:1 exhibit shape memory properties, with full capacity of keeping the temporary shape and high capacity of recovering the original shape. This work demonstrates that the appropriate choice of polyester composition allows modulating the sample properties, that permits to these materials to cover a wide range of possible applications. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. o-Quinone methide (1) has been produced in water both thermally and photochemically from (2-hydroxybenzyl)trimethylammonium iodide (2). Michael addition reactions of 1 to various amines, and sulfides, including amino acids and glutathione have been carried out, obtaining alkylated adducts (3-16) in fairly good to quantitative yields. The reaction rate and selectivity of 1 toward nitrogen and sulfur nucleophiles, in competition with the hydration reaction, have been investigated at different pH by laser flash photolysis technique. The observed reactivity spans 7 orders of magnitude on passing from water (kNu = 5.8 M-1 s-1) to the most reactive nucleophile (2.8 x 10(8) M-1 s-1, 2-mercaptoethanol under alkaline conditions). These are the first direct reaction rate measurements of nucleophilic addition to the parent o-quinone methide (1). Competition experiments provided strong kinetic support to the involvement of free 1 as an intermediate in both thermal and photochemical reactions. Furthermore, several alkylation adducts regenerate 1 either by heating (9, 10, 13, and 14) or by irradiation (9, 11-13, 16). Such a thermal and photochemical reversibility of the alkylation process opens a new perspective for the use and application of such adducts as o-QM molecular carriers.  相似文献

Non-oscillatory solutions for second-order difference equations with generalized phi-Laplacian are studied. Solutions are classified according to the asymptotic behaviour as regular or extremal solutions. Their existence and possible coexistence are investigated as well. In particular, the existence of infinitely many extremal solutions for equations with the discrete mean curvature operator is proved by means of an iterative method. The present study evaluates the use of an individual-specific transgenerational barium dual-isotope procedure and its application to salmon specimens from the Sella River (Asturias, Spain). For such a purpose, the use of laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) in combination with multiple linear regression for the determination of the isotopic mark in the otoliths of the specimens is presented. In this sense, a solution in which two barium-enriched isotopes (137Ba and 135Ba) were mixed at a molar ratio of ca. 1:3 (N Ba137/N Ba135) was administered to eight returning females caught during the spawning period. After injection, these females, as well as their offspring, were reared in a governmental hatchery located in the council of Cangas de Onís (Asturias, Spain). For comparison purposes, as well as for a time-monitoring control, egg and larva data obtained by solution analysis ICP-MS are also given. Otoliths (9-month-old juveniles) of marked offspring were analysed by LA-ICP-MS demonstrating a 100 % marking efficacy of this methodology. The capabilities of the molar fraction approach for 2D imaging of fish otoliths are also addressed.  相似文献

We have studied the growth of para-sexiphenyl (p-6P) on the Cu(110)-(2×1)O surface using reflectance difference spectroscopy (RDS) in combination with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The evolution of the optical anisotropy reveals that the growth of p-6P on the Cu(110)-(2×1)O surface at room temperature follows the Stranski-Krastanov growth mode with a two monolayer thick wetting layer. During all stages of growth, the p-6P molecules are well orientated with their long molecular axis aligned parallel to the Cu-O rows along the [001] direction of the Cu(110) substrate. The high packing density of the p-6P molecules in the first and second monolayer evidenced by RDS and STM is believed to be responsible for the switch from layer-by-layer to three-dimensional island growth.  相似文献
