In this study, headspace gas chromatography/mass spectrometry has been used to assess the volatile by-products generated by the ageing of oil-impregnated paper insulation of power transformers. Sealed-glass ampoules were used to age under oxidative conditions 0.5-g specimens of insulating paper in 9 mL of inhibited mineral oil in a temperature range of 60–120 °C and moisture of 0.5, 1 and 2% (w/w). A linear relationship between one of the oil-soluble degradation by-products, i.e. methanol, and the number of ruptured 1,4-β-glycosidic bonds of cellulose, regardless of the type of paper (ordinary Kraft or thermally-upgraded (TU) Kraft paper), was established for the first time in this field. Ageing at 130 °C of model compounds of the Kraft paper constituents (α-cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin) and two cellulosic breakdown by-products (D-(+)-glucose and 1,6-anhydro-β-d-glucopyranose) confirmed that the α-cellulose degradation was mostly responsible for the presence of this molecule in the system. Furthermore, additional 130 °C-tests with six different papers and pressboard samples under a tight control of initial moisture indicated that at least one molecule of methanol is formed for each rupture of 1,4-β-glucosidic bond of the molecular chains. Stability tests showed that the ageing indicator is stable under the oxygen and temperature conditions of open-breathing transformers. The presence of methanol was detected in 94% of oil samples collected from over than 900 in-service pieces of equipment, confirming the potential for this application. Lastly, the tests have shown that oil-oxidation by-products and TU-nitrogenous agents modify the methanol partitioning coefficients in the paper/oil/air system, which makes their study essential over a range of field conditions encountered by power transformers. Results are presented and discussed in comparison with 2-furfuraldehyde, which is the current reference in the domain.  相似文献

In secondary ion mass spectrometry, the detection of MCs+ clusters (with M an element of the specimen) under a Cs bombardment is frequently used for the quantification of major elements. Despite some very good results obtained by this method, some problems still remain. In order to gain some more insight into these problems, the formation mechanism of the MCs+ clusters is investigated using a Monte Carlo model. It is shown that the majority of the constituent particles of the formed clusters are initially first or second neighbor atoms at the surface and that the velocity distribution of the MCs+ clusters becomes broader and peaked at higher velocities with increasing surface binding energy of the M atom. In addition, it is demonstrated that the interaction potential between the M and Cs+ particle has no influence on the velocity distribution of the MCs+ clusters. On the other hand, the cluster formation probability, defined as the probability that a sputtered M and Cs+ particle will form a MCs+ cluster, is extremely sensitive to this interaction potential. It is also shown that the cluster formation probability decreases with increasing surface binding energy. Finally, a good correspondence is obtained between the calculated and experimental velocity distributions of MCs+ clusters sputtered from different monoatomic materials. As a consequence, the Monte Carlo model and the discussed results can be validated.  相似文献

The in situ precipitation of traces of cadmium(II) and zinc(II) ions as hexacyanoferrates from aqueous matrices was studied on conventional polystyrene gel and macroporous cation- and anion-exchange resins. Coprecipitation with each other or with copper(II) ions present in binary cation resins or in solution, and the influence of added nonprecipitating ions of the same charge type such as magnesium(II) were investigated. Microporous (gel) cation exchangers gave reasonable recoveries and macroporous cation exchangers gave very good recoveries; but macroporous anion exchangers performed best, suggesting macroporous hexacyanoferrate(II) resin as an ideal phase for collection/preconcentration of traces of Cu2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, and possibly Co2+, Ni2+, and Pb2+ from waters. As expected, very low yields were obtained with conventional anion exchange resin in the hexacyanoferrate form. Uniform distribution of Cu2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ over macroporous anion-exchange resin phases were established by means of electron probe scans and taken as evidence for the formation of a uniform, well-developed precipitate layer covering the entire resin particle surface.  相似文献

High-resolution translational-energy spectroscopy (up to 0.1 eV) has been carried out on 8
V beams of NO? and NO2?. Several features in the spectrum of NO4 are assigned to the transitions within the triplet manifold of this ion. The observed transitions originate in several excited electronic states, indicating long lifetimes (> 10 μs) for the states involved. Two electronic transitions in NO2' have been observed at low energies which are attributed to excitations to the first two excited states of this ion.  相似文献

Up to about 15 years ago compounds with a skeleton of phosphorus chains or rings were regarded as “exotic” in the field of nonmetal chemistry. Aside from a number of examples of molecules with two P atoms directly bonded to each other and a few sporadically discovered monocyclic ring compounds, only solids of undefined composition and structure were known. Since then the state of our knowledge in this sector has made considerable progress: between PH3 and its derivatives on the one hand, and the high-molecular modifications of elementary phosphorus on the other, an unexpected variety of well defined compounds have been discovered, showing many similarities to the analogous compounds of carbon. However, surprises can still occur even with “small” phosphorus-containing molecules, as shown by the likewise recently discovered field of phosphorus three-membered ring compounds.  相似文献

Hydroboration of β-acetylenic alcohols followed by NaOH/H2O2 oxidation leads to hemiacetals of γ-aldols which are easily dehydrated to 2,3-dihydrofuran compounds. The reaction gives good yields with hindered alcohols and its stereochemistry may be controlled during the organometallic synthesis of the starting alcohol.  相似文献

The syntheses of three methacrylate monomers with cinnamate ester side-chains and of a further monomer with a corresponding cinnamide side-chain are described. Two of the monomers, with isomeric structures, were thermotropic liquid crystals. Although the clearing points were very similar the crystal melting points differed by 8°C. One compound also exhibited a monotropic smectic phase, behavior not shown by its isomer. The other two monomers were not liquid crystalline. The monomers were polymerized by free radical polymerization, both as homopolymers and as copolymers with methyl methacrylate. In the case of one of the mesogenic ester monomers, copolymers with a cyanophenyl benzoate monomer were also prepared. Three of the four monomers formed thermotropic liquid crystalline homopolymers and the copolymers with the benzoate monomer were also liquid crystalline. The monomers were considered as photoactive components of polymeric liquid crystals. As a preliminary investigation of their photochemistry, copolymers with methyl methacrylate were prepared and irradiated in solution with a broad-band source. Under these conditions two of the materials show a facile photo-Fries rearrangement of the aryl cinnamate ester group. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

The mass spectra of twenty-six commercially available medicinal phenothiazines have been determined at high resolution. In each compound, the side chain attached to the 10-position of the phenothiazine ring contains nitrogen and fission of the C? C bond α to this nitrogen gives in most cases the base peak. Some of the compounds are also substituted at the 2-position and this substituent generally remains intact, though some substituents such as acetyl, propionyl, methoxyl and methylthio can undergo fragmentation. Fragmentations fall into three groups; those which give ions representing a part of the side chain; those which give ions representing the intact phenothiazine ring with part of the side chain attached; those which give ions representing a partially fragmented ring system.  相似文献
