We report the observation of dynamo action in the von Kármán sodium experiment, i.e., the generation of a magnetic field by a strongly turbulent swirling flow of liquid sodium. Both mean and fluctuating parts of the field are studied. The dynamo threshold corresponds to a magnetic Reynolds number R(m) approximately 30. A mean magnetic field of the order of 40 G is observed 30% above threshold at the flow lateral boundary. The rms fluctuations are larger than the corresponding mean value for two of the components. The scaling of the mean square magnetic field is compared to a prediction previously made for high Reynolds number flows. 相似文献

We investigate a new parallel all-optical clock recovery scheme based on heterodyne beats of an optical sideband-filtered signal. The oscillating clock signal is recovered when the filtered sideband is combined with a stable local oscillator. The filtering is performed with an optical resonator, which by nature provides possibility for multiwavelength operation. The local oscillator could be realized by a multiwavelength laser, whose emission wavelengths are injection seeded with carrier wavelengths of the input data. The output signal of such a configuration benefits from a reduced bit-pattern effect and a stable offset level. The sideband filtering is demonstrated for 23 simultaneous channels at 100 GHz DWDM grid, each hosting a data stream of 10 Gbit/s. 相似文献

Background
Parkinson??s disease is characterized by a continuous loss of neurons within the substantia nigra (SN) leading to a depletion of dopamine. Within the adult SN as a non-neurogenic region, cells with mainly oligodendrocytic precursor characteristics, expressing the neuro-glial antigen-2 (NG2) are continuously generated. Proliferation of these cells is altered in animal models of Parkinson??s disease (PD). Exercise and environmental enrichment re-increase proliferation of NG2+ cells in PD models, however, a possible mechanistic role of dopamine for this increase is not completely understood. NG2+ cells can differentiate into oligodendrocytes but also into microglia and neurons as observed in vitro suggesting a possible hint for endogenous regenerative capacity of the SN. We investigated the role of dopamine in NG2-generation and differentiation in the adult SN stimulated by physical activity and environmental enrichment.Results
We used the 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-model for dopamine depletion and analysed newborn cells in the SN at different maturation stages and time points depending on voluntary physical activity, enriched environment and levodopa-treatment. We describe an activity- induced increase of new NG2-positive cells and also mature oligodendrocytes in the SN of healthy mice. Running and enriched environment refused to stimulate NG2-generation and oligodendrogenesis in MPTP-mice, an effect which could be reversed by pharmacological levodopa-induced rescue.Conclusion
We suggest dopamine being a key regulator for activity-induced generation of NG2-cells and oliogodendrocytes in the SN as a potentially relevant mechanism in endogenous nigral cellular plasticity. 相似文献14.
In order to develop new electrolytes for all-solid-state rocking chair lithium batteries, the NASICON-type compounds Li2FeZr(PO4)3 and Li2FeTi(PO4)3 were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction technique and impedance spectroscopy. Li2FeZr(PO4)3 is orthorhombic Pbna (a=8.706(3), b=8.786(2), c=12.220(5) Å) and Li2FeTi(PO4)3 is orthorhombic Pbca (a=8.557(3), b=8.624(3), c=23.919(6) Å). They show no phase transitions from RT to 800 °C. In the same temperature range logσT vs. 1/T show no slope variations. The activation energies for the ionic conductivity were 0.62 and 0.64 eV for Li2FeTi(PO4)3 and Li2FeTi(PO4)3, respectively. In order to better evaluate the present results they were compared with those of α and β-LiZr2(PO4)3 phases, which were also prepared and characterised. A change of activation energy from 0.47 eV to 1.03 eV was observed in the case of β phase, at about 300 °C; attributed to the β (orthorhombic) ? β′ (monoclinic) phase transition. In the α phase the activation energy 0.47 eV in the temperature range 150 – 850 °C. The Li2FeZr(PO4)3 and Li2FeTi(PO4)3 compounds can be interesting for applications as solid electrolytes in high temperature (>300 °C) lithium batteries. 相似文献

A numerical study of the magnetic induction equation has
been performed on von Kármán type flows. These flows are
generated by two co-axial counter-rotating propellers in
cylindrical containers. Such devices are currently used in the
von Kármán sodium (VKS) experiment designed to study dynamo
action in an unconstrained flow. The mean velocity fields have
been measured for different configurations and are introduced in
a periodic cylindrical kinematic dynamo code. Depending on the
driving configuration, on the poloidal to toroidal flow ratio
and on the conductivity of boundaries, some flows are observed
to sustain growing magnetic fields for magnetic Reynolds numbers
accessible to a sodium experiment. The response of the flow to
an external magnetic field has also been studied: The results
are in excellent agreement with experimental results in the

Recently, shearlet groups have received much attention in connection with shearlet transforms applied for orientation sensitive image analysis and restoration. The square integrable representations of the shearlet groups provide not only the basis for the shearlet transforms but also for a very natural definition of scales of smoothness spaces, called shearlet coorbit spaces. The aim of this paper is twofold: first we discover isomorphisms between shearlet groups and other well-known groups, namely extended Heisenberg groups and subgroups of the symplectic group. Interestingly, the connected shearlet group with positive dilations has an isomorphic copy in the symplectic group, while this is not true for the full shearlet group with all nonzero dilations. Indeed we prove the general result that there exist, up to adjoint action of the symplectic group, only one embedding of the extended Heisenberg algebra into the Lie algebra of the symplectic group. Having understood the various group isomorphisms it is natural to ask for the relations between coorbit spaces of isomorphic groups with equivalent representations. These connections are examined in the second part of the paper. We describe how isomorphic groups with equivalent representations lead to isomorphic coorbit spaces. In particular we apply this result to square integrable representations of the connected shearlet groups and metaplectic representations of subgroups of the symplectic group. This implies the definition of metaplectic coorbit spaces. Besides the usual full and connected shearlet groups we also deal with Toeplitz shearlet groups. 相似文献

A sensitive method was developed for the trace determination of six tetracyclines and ten of their degradation products in influent, effluent, and river waters using liquid chromatography–electrospray tandem mass spectrometry detection, combined with Oasis hydrophilic–lipophilic balance (HLB) cartridge extraction and Oasis mixed-mode strong anion exchange (MAX) cartridge cleanup. Tetracyclines and their products were separated by liquid chromatography in 9.5 min, and the instrument detection limits were generally between 0.03 and 0.1 μg/L except for minocycline (0.5 μg/L). The chromatograms were improved through the MAX cleanup and no apparent matrix effect was found. The recoveries of all the target compounds except for 4-epianhydrochlortetracycline and anhydrochlortetracycline (34–52%) were 75–120% for influent, 61–103% for effluent, and 64–113% for river waters. The method detection limits (MDLs) of the analytes varied in the range of 0.8–17.5 ng/L in all studied matrices. The method was applied for the determination of tetracyclines and their products in a sewage treatment plant (STP) and surface waters in Beijing, China. Oxytetracycline (3.8–72.5 ng/L), tetracycline (1.9–16.5 ng/L), and five products including 4-epitetracycline, 4-epioxytetracycline, isochlortetracycline, anhydrotetracycline, and 4-epianhydrochlortetracycline (5.7–25.3 ng/L) were detected in wastewater, while only oxytetracycline and tetracycline (2.2 and 2.1 ng/L) were detected in surface water samples. 相似文献

Ab initio calculations are performed to understand the geometry, electronic structure, and vibrational frequencies of nickel
porphyrin (NiP). Hartree-Fock (HF) and second-order perturbation (MP2) theories are applied with polarized basis sets. The
calculated geometrical parameters are in very good agreement with the crystal structure determination. The electronic structure
and bonding are analyzed in terms of complexation and correlation effects. Not unexpectedly, the HF depiction of the metal-porphyrin
interaction is rather ionic while ligand σ donation is dominant at the MP2 level. Scaled HF frequencies of NiP and its isotopomers
are in very good agreement with observed infrared and resonance Raman data.
