The car interior is becoming quieter and other sounds are now exposed to user perception, such as the sound produced by interface buttons when actuated. So, the functional role of the button sound on interface operation and its aesthetic and emotional role on the user experience are now more important than before. However, little research and design effort has been paid to understand how to design buttons that produce a pleasant sound. Moreover, the button’s sound requirements received by interface manufacturers are ill-defined, insufficient or even inexistent, and consequently their conversion into specifications for manufacturing is problematic and leads to long and costly development processes. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to identify relevant acoustic parameters that explain the users sound preferences. Data on preference subjective judgments were collected and buttons acoustic signals were measured allowing the development of preference models based on partial least squares regression and neural networks methods. The former was successful in selecting the relevant parameters to describe the preference ratings of the buttons sound. The later, dealing with the non-linear nature of acoustic perception, was able to predict preferences based on the relevant parameters. 相似文献

The cycloaddition between glyoxylate imines possessing two chiral auxiliaries, N‐(R)‐ or N‐(S)‐1‐phenylethyl and 8‐phenylmenthyl or 8‐phenylneomenthyl, and cyclopentadiene is described. Computational calculations using density functional theory with the Becke, three‐parameter, Lee–Yang–Parr functional and the 6‐31G(d) basis set were performed to better understand the highly diastereoselective mechanism and the exo‐selectivity observed experimentally for these ionic aza‐Diels–Alder reactions. 2‐Ethylhexyl 4‐methoxycinnamate (EHMC) is a very commonly used UVB filter that is known to isomerize from the (E) to the (Z) isomer in the presence of light. In this study, we have performed high level quantum chemical calculations using density functional theory (DFT) with the B3LYP density functional and extended basis sets to study the gas‐phase molecular structure of EHMC and its energetic stability. Calculations were also performed for related smaller molecules cinnamic acid and 4‐methoxycinnamic acid. Charge delocalization has been analyzed using natural charges and Wiberg bond indexes within the natural bond orbital analysis and using nucleus independent chemical shifts. Density functional theory calculations reveal that the (E) isomer of EHMC is more stable than the (Z) by about 20 kJ mol?1 in both the gas and aqueous phases. The enthalpy of formation in the gas phase of (E)‐EHMC was derived from an isodesmic bond separation reaction. The standard (p(o) = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpy of formation of crystalline 2H-1,3-benzoxazine-2,4(3H)dione was measured, at T= 298.15 K, by static bomb calorimetry and the standard molar enthalpy of sublimation, at T= 298.15 K, was obtained using Calvet microcalorimetry. These values were used to derive the standard molar enthalpy of formation in the gaseous phase, T= 298.15 K, of -(401.0 +/- 3.5) kJ mol(-1). The standard molar enthalpy of sublimation of isatoic anhydride was recalculated, and our recommended experimental value for the standard molar enthalpy of formation in the gaseous phase, T= 298.15 K, is -(406.2 +/- 3.4) kJ mol(-1). Density functional calculations for the two isomers 2H-1,3-benzoxazine-2,4(3H)dione and isatoic anhydride, in which the ring nitrogen and oxygen have been transposed, confirm the experimental evidence of nearly identical thermochemical stability for these isomers. 相似文献

A key process in the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer''s and Parkinson''s diseases is the aggregation of proteins to produce fibrillary aggregates with a cross β-sheet structure, amyloid. The development of reagents that can bind these aggregates with high affinity and selectivity has potential for early disease diagnosis. By linking two benzothiazole aniline (BTA) head groups with different length polyethylene glycol (PEG) spacers, fluorescent probes that bind amyloid fibrils with low nanomolar affinity have been obtained. Dissociation constants measured for interaction with Aβ, α-synuclein and tau fibrils show that the length of the linker determines binding affinity and selectivity. These compounds were successfully used to image α-synuclein aggregates in vitro and in the post-mortem brain tissue of patients with Parkinson''s disease. The results demonstrate that multivalent ligands offer a powerful approach to obtain high affinity, selective reagents to bind the fibrillary aggregates that form in neurodegenerative disease.Multivalent ligands offer a powerful approach to obtain high affinity reagents to bind the aggregates that form in neurodegenerative disease.
