The extracellular matrix consists of collagen, proteoglycans and non-collagen proteins. The incidence of obesity and associated diseases is currently increasing in developed countries. Obesity is considered to be a disease of modern times, and genes predisposing to the disease have been identified in humans and animals. The objective of the present study was to compare the morphological and biochemical aspects of the deep digital flexor tendon of lean (Fa/Fa or Fa/fa) and genetically obese (fa/fa) Zucker rats. Ultrastructural analysis showed the presence of lipid droplets in both groups, whereas disorganized collagen fibril bundles were observed in obese animals. Lean animals presented a larger amount of non-collagen proteins and glycosaminoglycans than obese rats. We propose that the overweight and lesser physical activity in obese animals may have provoked the alterations in the composition and organization of extracellular matrix components but a genetic mechanism cannot be excluded. These alterations might be related to organizational and structural modifications in the collagen bundles that influence the mechanical properties of tendons and the progression to a pathological state. 相似文献

We study non-elastic billiard dynamics in an equilateral triangular table. In such dynamics, collisions with the walls of the table are not elastic, as in standard billiards; rather, the outgoing angle of the trajectory with the normal vector to the boundary at the point of collision is a uniform factor λ < 1 smaller than the incoming angle. This leads to contraction in phase space for the discrete-time dynamics between consecutive collisions, and hence to attractors of zero Lebesgue measure, which are almost always fractal strange attractors with chaotic dynamics, due to the presence of an expansion mechanism. We study the structure of these strange attractors and their evolution as the contraction parameter λ is varied. For λ∈(0,1/3), we prove rigorously that the attractor has the structure of a Cantor set times an interval, whereas for larger values of λ gaps arise in the Cantor structure. For λ close to 1, the attractor splits into three transitive components, whose basins of attraction have fractal boundaries. 相似文献

The control of sound transmission through panels is an important noise control problem in the aerospace, aeronautical, and automotive industries. The trend towards using lightweight composite materials that have lower sound insulation performance is a negative factor regarding low frequency transmission loss. Double-panel partitions with the gap filled with sound absorption materials are often employed to improve the sound insulation performance with reduced added weight penalty. However, in the low frequency range, the strong coupling between the panels through the air cavity and mechanical paths may greatly reduce the sound transmission performance, making it even lower than the performance of a single panel in some frequency ranges. In this work, an experimental investigation of a new kind of hybrid (active/passive) acoustic actuator is presented. The idea consists of replacing the acoustic absorption material by a hybrid actuator aiming at improving the transmission loss at low frequencies without altering the passive attenuation. A prototype of the system is tested in a plane wave acoustic tube setup. Different kinds of SISO feedforward control implementations were used to attenuate the sound power transmitted through the hybrid active–passive panel using an error microphone or a particle velocity sensor placed downstream with respect to the sample panel. The luminescence properties of Ce3+ in BaAl2O4 are reported. The results of simultaneous measurements of XEOL and XAS in the X-ray energy range that includes the Ba LII,III-edges and Ce LIII edge are shown. The XEOL yield increases as the energy of the photons increases. The radioluminescence spectra, taken from 200 to 1100 nm, showed broad emission bands corresponding to 5d1→2F5/2, 2F7/2 transitions of Ce3+ when incorporated into two nonequivalent Ba sites. The lifetime of the light emission was also measured using the single bunch operation mode at the Brazilian National Synchrotron Laboratory (LNLS), and BaAl2O4:Ce3+ showed single exponential decay time component of about 44.3 ns. 相似文献

An X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) study performed at the rare‐earth L2,3‐edges in the RxR1?x′Al2 compounds is presented. It is shown that both R and R′ atoms contribute to the XMCD recorded at the L‐edges of the selected rare‐earth, either R or R′. The amplitude of the XMCD signal is not directly correlated to the magnetization or to the value of the individual (R, R′) magnetic moments, but it is related to the molecular field acting on the rare‐earth tuned in the photoabsorption process. This result closes a longstanding study of the origin of the XMCD at the L‐edge of the rare‐earths in multi‐component systems, allowing a full understanding of the exact nature of these signals. 相似文献

ObjectiveIschemia reperfusion (IR) injury, occurring during heart attacks, hemorrhagic shock, and bypass and transplant surgeries, impairs microcirculatory function and nitric oxide (NO) synthesis. We report the regulation of endothelial and inducible NO synthase (eNOS and iNOS) proteins as a consequence of the application of continuous mode diagnostic frequency ultrasound application following IR injury.MethodsAnimals were assigned to one of five groups for microcirculatory assessment or Western blot analysis (WB) as follows: (1) IR+iNOS inhibition (1400W); and (2) IR+1400W+ultrasound for microcirculatory assessment, (3) Control; (4) IR; and (5) IR+ultrasound for WB. Functional capillary density and microvascular diameter, flow velocity, and flow were monitored for microcirculatory assessment. Skin tissue samples were harvested for WB. 2.49 MHz continuous ultrasound was used for application.ResultsBoth the inhibition of iNOS alone and iNOS inhibition with ultrasound irradiation positively influenced the microcirculation of observed animals relative to baseline values. Ultrasound exposure resulted in a significant production of eNOS protein in skin tissue harvested 24 h into reperfusion (p < 0.01). iNOS levels from the same tissue of ultrasound exposed animals were found to be significantly decreased 0.5 h into reperfusion (p < 0.05).ConclusionProtection from lasting IR injury effects in the microcirculation, with continuous mode diagnostic frequency ultrasound, results from augmented eNOS protein levels during late reperfusion. Ultrasound inhibited iNOS protein production during early reperfusion may also confer protection from IR injury. 相似文献

A BV algebra is a formal framework within which the BV quantization algorithm is implemented. In addition to the gauge symmetry, encoded in the BV master equation, the master action often exhibits further global symmetries, which may be in turn gauged. We show how to carry this out in a BV algebraic set up. Depending on the nature of the global symmetry, the gauging involves coupling to a pure ghost system with a varying amount of ghostly supersymmetry. Coupling to an N=0 ghost system yields an ordinary gauge theory whose observables are appropriately classified by the invariant BV cohomology. Coupling to an N=1 ghost system leads to a topological gauge field theory whose observables are classified by the equivariant BV cohomology. Coupling to higher N ghost systems yields topological gauge field theories with higher topological symmetry. In the latter case, however, problems of a completely new kind emerge, which call for a revision of the standard BV algebraic framework. 相似文献

Purpose
To present diffusion and perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) characteristics of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) of the liver.Materials and Methods
Thirty-five patients with 52 FNHs (21 were pathologically-confirmed) underwent MRI at 1.5-T device. MR diffusion [diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)] was performed using a free-breathing single-shot, spin-echo, echo-planar sequence with b gradient factor value of 500 s/mm². MR perfusion [perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI)] consisted of a 3D free-breathing LAVA sequence repeated up to 5 minutes after injection of 7 mL Gd-BOPTA (MultiHance, Bracco, Italy) and 20 mL saline flush at a flow rate of 4 mL/s. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and time-signal intensity curve (TSIC) were obtained for both normal liver and each FNH by two reviewers in conference; maximum enhancement (ME) percentage, time to peak enhancement (TTP), and maximal slope (MS) were also calculated.Results
On DWI mean ADC value was 1.624×10− 3 mm2/s for normal liver and 1.629×10− 3 mm2/s for FNH. ADC value for each FNH and the normal liver was not statistically different (P= .936). On PWI, TSIC-Type 1 (quick and marked enhancement and quick decay followed by slowly decaying) was observed in all 52 FNHs, and TSIC-Type 2 (fast enhancement followed by slowly decaying plateau) in all normal livers. The mean ME, TTP and MS values were significantly different for FNH and normal liver (P= .005).Conclusion
FNHs of the liver showed typical diffusion and perfusion MRI characteristics in all cases. On the ADC map, we could get similar value between the FNHs and the background parenchyma. On the perfusion imaging, FNHs showed a different pattern distinguished from the background liver. 相似文献60.
The participants in the electricity market are concerned very much with the market price evolution. Various technologies have been developed for price forecasting. The SVM (Support Vector Machine) has shown its good performance in market price forecasting. Two approaches for forming the market bidding strategies based on SVM are proposed. One is based on the price forecasting accuracy, with which the rejection risk is defined. The other takes into account the impact of the producer’s own bid. The risks associated with the bidding are controlled by the parameter settings. The proposed approaches have been tested on a numerical example. 相似文献
