Blue amplified spontaneous emission at room temperature is demonstrated from the exposed face of the strongly emitting organic semiconductor 1,1,4,4‐tetraphenyl‐1,3‐butadiene in single crystal form. The symmetry of the crystal and calculation of lattice sums indicate the J‐type organization of the molecular transition moments. The minimum in the lowest exciton dispersion branch, from which emission takes place, is found at the edge of the Brillouin zone leading to a dominant vibronic emission since the zero‐phonon line is forbidden. The observed gain narrowed line is attributed to the vibronic replica which becomes amplified with increased pumping. The reported emission is along the normal to the exposed crystal face, important for the development of vertical cavity geometry lasers based on organic single crystals. The threshold excitation fluence of 400 μJ cm?2 is comparable to other organic crystalline systems, even if the amplification path is much reduced as a consequence of the vertical geometry. Considering these relevant aspects, the optical characterization of this material is provided. The polarized absorption spectra are reported and the properties of the lowest‐energy excitonic state investigated. Calculation of the electronic transitions for the isolated molecule, lattice sums for the transition at lowest energy, and the symmetry of the crystal allow attributing the largest face of the samples and the observed optical bands in the spectra. Polarized time‐resolved spectra are also reported allowing to identify the intrinsic excitonic emission.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to evaluate the biochemical features of the white-rot fungi Pycnoporus sanguineus cellulolytic complex and its utilization to sugarcane bagasse hydrolysis. When cultivated under submerged fermentation using corn cobs as carbon source, P. sanguineus produced high FPase, endoglucanase, β-glucosidase, xylanase, mannanase, α-galactosidase, α-arabinofuranosidase, and polygalacturonase activities. Cellulase activities were characterized in relation to pH and temperature. β-Glucosidase and FPase activities were higher at 55 °C, pH 4.5, and endoglucanase activity was higher at 60 °C, in a pH range of 3.5–4.0. All cellulase activities were highly stable at 40 and 50 °C through 48 h of pre-incubation. Crude enzymatic extract from P. sanguineus was applied in a saccharification experiment using acid-treated and alkali-treated sugarcane bagasse as substrate, and the hydrolysis yields were compared to that obtained by a commercial cellulase preparation. Reducing sugar yields of 60.4% and 64.0% were reached when alkali-treated bagasse was hydrolyzed by P. sanguineus extract and commercial cellulase, respectively. Considering the glucose production, it was observed that P. sanguineus extract and commercial cellulase ensured yields of 22.6% and 36.5%, respectively. The saccharification of acid-treated bagasse was lower than that of alkali-treated bagasse regardless of the cellulolytic extract. The present work showed that P. sanguineus has a great potential as an enzyme producer for biomass saccharification.  相似文献

The hydroxo compounds [Re(OH)(CO)(3)(N-N)] (N-N=bipy, 2 a; Me(2)-bipy, 2 b) were prepared in a biphasic H(2)O/CH(2)Cl(2) medium by reaction of [Re(OTf)(CO)(3)(N-N)] with KOH. In contrast, when anhydrous CH(2)Cl(2) was used, the binuclear hydroxo-bridged compound [[Re(CO)(3)(bipy)](2)(mu-OH)]OTf (3-OTf) was obtained. Compound [Re(OH)(CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (2 b) reacted with phenyl acetate or vinyl acetate to afford [Re(OAc)(CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (4) and phenol or acetaldehyde, respectively. The reactions of [Mo(OH)(eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)] (1), 2 a, and 2 b toward several unsaturated organic electrophiles were studied. The reaction of 1 with (p-tolyl)isocyanate afforded an adduct of N,N'-di(p-tolyl)urea and the carbonato-bridged compound [[Mo(eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)](2)(mu-eta(1)(O),eta(1)(O)-CO(3))] (5). In contrast, the reaction of 2 a with phenylisocyanate afforded [Re(OC(O)NHPh)(CO)(3)(bipy)] (6); this results from formal PhNCO insertion into the O-H bond. On the other hand, compounds [Mo[SC(O)NH(p-tolyl)](eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(2)(phen)] (7), [Re[SC(O)NH(p-tolyl)](CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (8 a), and [Re[SC(O)NHEt](CO)(3)(Me(2)-bipy)] (8 b) were obtained by reaction of 1 or 2 b with the corresponding alkyl or aryl isothiocyanates. In those cases, RNCS was inserted into the M-O bond. The reactions of 1, 2 a, and 2 b with dimethylacetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) gave the complexes [Mo[C(OH)-C(CO(2)Me)C(CO(2)Me)-O](eta(3)-C(3)H(4)-Me-2)(CO)(phen)] (9) and [Re[C(OH)C(CO(2)Me)C(CO(2)Me)O](CO)(2)(N-N)] (N-N=bipy, 10 a; Me(2)-bipy, 10 b). The molecules of these compounds contain five-membered metallacycles that are the result of coupling between the hydroxo ligand, DMAD, and one of the CO ligands. The new compounds were characterized by a combination of IR and NMR spectroscopy, and for [[Re(CO)(3)(bipy)(2)(mu-OH)]BF(4) (3-BF(4)), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 b, 9, and 10 b, also by means of single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Stretching experiments on single molecules of arbitrary length opened the way for studying the statistical mechanics of small systems. In many cases in which the thermodynamic limit is not satisfied, different macroscopic boundary conditions, corresponding to different statistical mechanics ensembles, yield different force-displacement curves. We formulate analytical expressions and develop Monte Carlo simulations to quantitatively evaluate the difference between the Helmholtz and the Gibbs ensembles for a wide range of polymer models of biological relevance. We consider generalizations of the freely jointed chain and of the worm-like chain models with extensible bonds. In all cases we show that the convergence to the thermodynamic limit upon increasing contour length is described by a suitable power law and a specific scaling exponent, characteristic of each model.  相似文献

Performances of a pilot-scale reed bed for the olive mill wastewater (OMW) treatment were investigated, by monitoring influent and effluent pH, total suspended solids (TSS), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), total phosphorus and polyphenols. In order to reduce the suspended matter concentration and to avoid clogging, OMW was pre-treated by adding lime putty, calcium hydroxide and hydraulic lime. The best results were obtained with 2 g/L of hydraulic lime. Pre-treated OMW was dosed in the reed bed at dilution ratios of 1/3 and 1/10 (v/v), pointing up that the latter only did not give rise to reed suffering and allowed to obtain good and durable removal efficiencies, above all for COD (74.1+/-17.6%) and polyphenols (83.4+/-17.8%). Recycling of the effluent was quite effective for the improvement of the wastewater quality, allowing a further removal of 26-70%, depending on the parameter taken into account. A post-dosage study, carried out by feeding the reed bed with the effluent of an activated sludge plant, pointed up a rapid decreasing of the outlet concentrations of the investigated parameters to values compatible with Italian regulations concerning wastewater discharge in surface water. Polyphenols were the exception, being their outlet concentration at the end of post-dosage study around 2 mg/L.  相似文献

A novel strategy to evaluation of adulteration in alcoholic beverages based on the measurement of the Schlieren effect using an automated FIA system with photometric detection is proposed. The assay is based on the Schlieren effect produced when beverage samples are injected in a single-line FIA system that uses water as carrier stream and a light-emitting diode-phototransistor photometer controlled by microcomputer as detector. The flow system presents limited mixing conditions which make possible to create gradients of refractive index (Schlieren effect) in the injected sample zone. These gradients are reproducible, characteristic of each alcoholic beverage and undergo specific modifications when adulterations with water or ethanol are imposed. Schlieren effect data of brandies, cachaças, rums, whiskies and vodkas were treated by SIMCA to elaborate class models applied in the evaluation of alcoholic beverages adulteration. Samples of the original matrix of each sort of beverages were adulterated in laboratory by adding water, methanol and ethanol in levels of 5% and 10% (v/v). These samples were used as test set to validate SIMCA class models. The verification of authenticity using Schlieren effect measurements presented good results making possible to identify 100% of the beverages samples adulterated in laboratory and 93% of the actual adulterated alcoholic beverages with confidence levels of 95%. As principal advantage, the automated system does not use reagents to carry out the analysis.  相似文献

Two new tris(aryl)phosphane oxides existing as configurationally stable residual enantiomers have been synthesised and their racemates resolved by semipreparative HPLC on a chiral stationary phase (CSP HPLC). One of them, recognised as a conglomerate, could be resolved by fractional crystallisation at a preparative scale level. In this case, the absolute configuration of the propeller‐shaped molecule was determined by anomalous X‐ray scattering. The problem of the correlative assignment of the absolute configuration to all known C3‐symmetric three‐bladed propeller‐shaped molecules existing as stable residual enantiomers is discussed. The configurational stability of the new chiral phosphane oxides and of the corresponding phosphanes was evaluated by CD signal decay kinetics and dynamic 1H NMR spectroscopy. The racemisation barriers in phosphanes were found about 10 kcal mol?1 lower than those found for the corresponding oxides, though geometry and inter‐ring gearing would be very similar in the two series. Configurational stability of residual tris(aryl)phosphanes was found to be influenced by the electronic availability of the phosphorus centre, as evaluated by electrochemical CV experiments.  相似文献

In this paper, we systematically address the performance of cellulose nanocrystals (CNs) coated flexible food packaging films. Firstly, the morphology of CNs from cotton linters and homogeneity of its coating on different substrates were characterized by transmission electronic microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Then, the 1.5 μm thick CNs coating on polyethylene terephthalate (PET), oriented polypropylene, oriented polyamide (OPA), and cellophane films were characterized for their mechanical, optical, anti-fog, and barrier properties. CNs coating reduces the coefficient of friction while maintaining high transparency (~90 %) and low haze (3–4 %) values, and shows excellent anti-fog properties and remarkable oxygen barrier (oxygen permeability coefficient of CNs coating, P’O2, 0.003 cm3 μm m?2 24 h?1 kPa?1). In addition, the Gelbo flex test combined with oxygen permeance (PO2) measurements and optical microscopy are firstly reported for evaluating the durability of coatings, revealing that the CNs coated PET and OPA provide the best performance among the investigated coated films. CNs are therefore considered to be a promising multi-functional coating for flexible food packaging.  相似文献

This work describes thermal analysis evaluation of a glycerol derived compound (fatty acid esters of (2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl) methanol) developed to work as a biofuel. Mixtures of these ketal–glyceryl esters with fatty acid methyl esters typical of soybean biodiesel were prepared and evaluated in relation to biodiesel critical thermal properties such as temperature of crystallization, thermal stability and volatilization measured by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis. The volatility of the products containing fatty acid methyl esters and (2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl) methyl esters could be predicted by thermogravimetric analyses conducted in nitrogen that avoided time consuming distillation and greatly reduced material expenditure.  相似文献

In the last few years, silver nanoparticles have been proposed as a promising alternative for the label-free detection of proteins via metal-enhanced fluorescence. Generally, the aromatic amino acid tryptophan is most frequently used in this type of studies, because the intrinsic fluorescence of proteins is usually dominated by tryptophan emissions. In the present study, we evaluated the fluorescence behavior of tryptophan in the presence of a silver colloid with nanoparticles of 100 nm in diameter. The results showed that a nanoparticles concentration of 32 mg L?1 induced maximum fluorescence enhancement. However, the metal-enhanced fluorescence was dependent on the emission wavelength of tryptophan, and this phenomenon was closely related to the metal surface reabsorption process (inner filter effect), suggesting that the plasmon resonance reabsorption effect should be taken into account in analyses involving protein studies by metal-enhanced fluorescence.  相似文献
