The existence of stabilizing carbohydrate-aromatic interactions is demonstrated from both the theoretical and experimental viewpoints. The geometry of experimentally based galactose-lectin complexes has been properly accounted for by using a MP2/6-31G(d,p) level of theory and by considering a counterpoise correction during optimization. In this case, the stabilizing interaction energy of the fucose-benzene complex amounts to 3.0 kcal/mol. The theoretical results obtained herein indicate that the carbohydrate-aromatic interactions are stabilizing interactions with an important dispersive component and that electronic density between the sugar hydrogens and the aromatic ring indeed exists, thus giving rise to three so-called nonconventional hydrogen bonds. Experimental evidence of the intrinsic tendency of aromatic moieties to interact with certain sugars has also been shown by simple NMR experiments in water solution. Benzene and phenol specifically interact with the clusters of C-H bonds of the alpha face of methyl beta-galactoside, without requiring the well-defined three-dimensional shape provided by a protein receptor, therefore resembling the molecular recognition features that are frequently observed in many carbohydrate-protein complexes.  相似文献

This theoretical study deals with the reaction of isoprene and dichloropropynylborane. We report the results of the DFT calculations applied to the two processes involved, Diels-Alder cycloaddition and 1,4-alkynylboration. The boron influences both the chemoselectivity and the regioselectivity of this reaction through secondary orbital interactions (SOI hereafter) that give rise to transition structures with strong [4 atom + 3 atom] character. The "meta" regioselectivity observed experimentally for the reaction between 2-substituted 1,3-dienes and alkynyldihaloboranes has been explained as a result of the higher stabilization of these transition structures with "meta" orientation. Intrinsic reaction coordinate calculations were performed to determine connectivities and established the remarkable result that the geometrically very similar transition structures leading to both regioisomeric 1,4-alkynylboration products correspond to different pathways. For the "meta" orientation a direct alkynylboration of the diene through a concerted transition structure was found.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] The reaction of 3-azido-2,3-dideoxy-hexopyranose compounds from the d-gluco, d-galacto, d-lacto, and l-arabino carbohydrate series, with (diacetoxyiodo)benzene and iodine, generated 2-azido-1,2-dideoxy-1-iodo-alditols with one carbon less than the starting carbohydrate. These beta-iodo azides could be transformed by dehydroiodination into vinyl azides, which in turn afforded 3-monosubstituted 2H-azirines under thermal conditions. These beta-iodo azides and 2H-azirines may be interesting chiral synthons for the preparation of more complex heterocyclic systems.  相似文献

An integrated amperometric fructose biosensor based on a gold electrode (AuE) modified with a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) on which fructose dehydrogenase (FDH) and the mediator tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) are co-immobilized by cross-linking with glutaraldehyde is reported. Variables concerning the behavior of the biosensor were optimized by taking the slope value obtained for the fructose calibration plot in the 0.1–1.0 mM concentration range as a criterion of selection. At an applied potential of +0.20 V, a good repeatability of such slope values (RSD=6.7%, n=10) was obtained with no need to apply a cleaning or pretreatment procedure to the modified electrode. Moreover, results from five different TTF-FDH-MPA-AuEs yielded a RSD of 5.8%. The useful lifetime of one single biosensor was approximately 30 days, exhibiting a 93% of the original response on the 33rd day. A linear calibration graph was obtained for fructose over the 1.0×10–5–1.0×10–3 M range, with a limit of detection of 2.4×10–6 M. The effect of potential interferents was evaluated. The TTF-FDH-MPA-AuE also performed well in the flow-injection mode. The biosensor was used for the determination of fructose in real samples, and the results compared with those provided by using a commercial enzyme test kit.  相似文献

Total arsenic in nine species Antarctic macro algae has been measured, by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry using a Pd/Mg(NO3)2 matrix modifier, to determine their capacity to accumulate the element. Macro algae were collected in February during the 2000 austral summer season at Jubany Station (Argentinean scientific station) around Potter Cove, King George Island. An optimized two-step microwave (MW) program was used to digest the samples. Dried samples were treated with HNO3, H2O2, and HF, left overnight, then subjected to the first MW cycle. After cooling HNO3 and HClO4 were added and samples were subjected to the second MW cycle of digestion treatment. The effect of power and time on As recovery was examined. The analytical features of the method were: detection limit, 0.24 g g–1 (dry mass); precision (RSD), 4.2–5.7%; recovery 91–105%. A wide range of As-retention capacity (41.0–447 g g–1 dry mass) was observed among the different species. The highest levels of As were found in Phaeurus antarcticus (447 g g–1 dry mass). This organism satisfies several prerequisites to be considered for consideration as a biomonitor in future studies.  相似文献

A recently proposed local Fukui function is used to predict the binding site of atomic hydrogen on silicon clusters. To validate the predictions, an extensive search for the more stable SinH (n=3-10) clusters has been done using a modified genetic algorithm. In all cases, the isomer predicted by the Fukui function is found by the search, but it is not always the most stable one. It is discussed that in the cases where the geometrical structure of the bare silicon cluster suffers a considerable change due to the addition of one hydrogen atom, the situation is more complicated and the relaxation effects should be considered.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new analogs of the laser dye PM567 (4,4-difluoro-1,3,5,7,8-pentamethyl-2,6-diethyl-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene) with the 8-position substituted by a linear chain with n methylenes (n = 1, 3, 5, 10 or 15) tethered with an acetoxy or methacryloyloxy group (PnAc and PnMA, respectively) is described. The monomeric dyes PnMA have been successfully copolymerized with methyl methacrylate (MMA), yielding linear copolymers of high optical quality where the covalently bonded chromophore is separated from the polymeric main chain by a spacer of variable length. The photostability of the solid polymeric materials under UV (310 nm) irradiation (method ASTM G 53-77) has been compared with those of the model dyes PnAc and PM567 as solid solutions in poly-MMA (PnAc-PMMA and PM567-PMMA, respectively). In all the cases, the chromophore bound to the polymer is more photostable than that simply dissolved in the same polymer, with photodegradation quantum yields in the range 2.3 x 10(-5) to 4.8 x 10(-5), which was interpreted as due to additional modes for the dissipation of the absorbed energy along the polymeric chain. In both polymer solutions and copolymers, the length of the polymethylene chain has low or null influence on the photostability. In ethanol solution, PnAc model dyes with polymethylene chains with three or more methylene groups show about the same photostability; this is of an order of magnitude higher than that of the parent dyes P1Ac and PM567 in the same solvent.  相似文献
