One of the objectives of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission in the Marcoule Centre is to accurately quantify the composition of nuclear spent fuel, i.e. to determine the concentration of each isotope with suitable measurement uncertainty. These analysis results are essential for the validation of calculation codes used for the simulation of fuel behaviour in nuclear reactors and for nuclear matter accountancy. The different experimental steps are first the reception of a piece of spent fuel rod at the laboratory of dissolution studies, and then dissolution in a hot cell of a sample of the spent fuel rod received. Several steps are necessary to obtain a complete dissolution. Taking into account these process steps, and not only those of analysis for the evaluation of measurement uncertainties, is new, and is described in this paper. The uncertainty estimation incorporating the process has been developed following the approach proposed by the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM). The mathematical model of measurement was established by examining the dissolution process step by step. The law of propagation of uncertainty was applied to this model. A point by point examination of each step of the process permitted the identification of all sources of uncertainties considered in this propagation for each input variable. The measurement process presented involves the process and the analysis. The contents of this document show the importance of taking the process into account in order to give a more reliable uncertainty assessment to the result of a concentration or isotope ratio of two isotopes in spent fuel.  相似文献

We present an achiral diacrylate that shows a phase transition from the synclinic smectic C phase (SmC) to the anticlinic smectic C (SmCalt). This last phase has been previously reported only for swallow-tailed or dimeric compounds. Our studies using differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, polarizing optical microscopy and broad band dielectric spectroscopy suggest the existence of this mesophase in this bifunctional smectogen.  相似文献

The hydrolysis of six selected pesticides has been studied in aqueous solution. Four organophosphorus pesticides (disulfoton, isofenfos, isazofos and profenfos) and two N-methylcarbamate derivatives (oxamyl and ethiofencarb) were selected. Hydrolysis was performed in purified buffered water at different pH in the range 7.0–10.0 (ionic strength?=?2.5?mM, T?=?25°C). At pH?=?8.0, isofenfos and disulfoton (t 1/2?≈?4 years, t 1/2?≈?1 year, resp.) were found to be far more stable than isazofos (t 1/2?≈?5 months), ethiofencarb and profenofos (t 1/2<1 month), themselves more stable than oxamyl (t 1/2?≈?1 day). As expected, a strong dependence on pH was observed for all pesticides: the rate of degradation increased when the pH increased. Degradation products were identified by GC–MS and/or LC–MS. The aggregation properties of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) can be exploited in organic synthesis to control dilution effects. Through the use of solvent mixtures containing PEG400/MeOH, macrocyclization by Glaser–Hay coupling can be conducted at high concentrations. The origin of the selectivity has been studied by using surface tension measurements, UV spectroscopy, and chemical tagging and demonstrates the dependence of the yield and selectivity on the aggregation of PEG400 and its ability to preferentially solubilize organic substrates, resulting in a phase separation from the catalyst system.  相似文献

Thin nanocomposite films of thermoplastic starch, chitosan and cellulose nanofibers (bacterial cellulose or nanofibrillated cellulose) were prepared for the first time by solvent casting of water based suspensions of the three polysaccharides. The role of the different bioploymers on the final properties (thermal stability, transparency, mechanical performance and antimicrobial activity) of the films was related with their intrinsic features, contents and synergic effects resulting from the establishment of interactions between them. Thermoplastic starch displays an important role on the thermal stability of the films because it is the most stable polysaccharide; however it has a negative impact on the mechanical performance and transparency of the films. The addition of chitosan improves considerably the transparency (up to 50 % transmittance for 50 % of chitosan, in respect to the amount of starch), mechanical performance and antimicrobial properties (at least 25 % of chitosan and no more than 10 % of cellulose nanofibers are required to observe bacteriostatic or bactericidal activity) but decrease their thermal stability. The incorporation of cellulose nanofibers had the strongest positive impact on the mechanical properties of the materials (increments of up to 15 and 30 MPa on the Young′s modulus and Tensile strength, respectively, for films with 20 % of BC or NFC). Nonetheless, the impact in thermal stability and mechanical performance of the films, promoted by the addition of chitosan and cellulose nanofibres, respectively, was higher than the expected considering their percentage contents certainly because of the establishment of strong and complex interactions between the three polysaccharides.  相似文献

Common assumptions on the source producing the words inserted in a suffix trie with n leaves lead to a height and saturation level. We provide an example of a suffix trie whose height increases faster than a power of n and another one whose saturation level is negligible with respect to . Both are built from VLMC (Variable Length Markov Chain) probabilistic sources and are easily extended to families of tries having the same properties. The first example corresponds to a “logarithmic infinite comb” and enjoys a non uniform polynomial mixing.
