Physalis angulata L. belongs to the family Solanaceae and is distributed throughout the tropical and subtropical regions. Physalis angulata leaf and fruit extracts were assessed for in vitro anticancer, antioxidant activity, and total phenolic and flavonoid content. The GC-MS technique investigated the chemical composition and structure of bioactive chemicals reported in extracts. The anticancer activity results revealed a decrease in the percentage of anticancer cells’ viability in a concentration- and time-dependent way. We also noticed morphological alterations in the cells, which we believe are related to Physalis angulata extracts. Under light microscopy, we observed that as the concentration of ethanolic extract (fruit and leaves) treated HeLa cells increased, the number of cells began to decrease.  相似文献

The difficulties which the CMOS technology is facing at the nano scale has led to the investigation of quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) nanotechnology and reversible logic as an alternative to conventional CMOS technology. In this paper, these two paradigms have been combined. Firstly, a new 3 × 3 reversible gate, SSG-QCA, which is universal and multifunctional in nature, is proposed and implemented in QCA using conventional 3-input majority voter based logic. By using the concept of explicit interaction of cells, the proposed gate is further optimized and then used to design an ultra-efficient 1-bit full adder in QCA. The universal nature has been verified by designing all the logic gates from the proposed SSG-QCA gate whereas the multifunctional nature is verified by implementing all the 13 standard Boolean functions. The proposed 3 × 3 gate and adder designs are then extensively compared with the existing literature and it is observed that the proposed designs are ultra-efficient in terms of both area and cost in QCA technology. In addition to this energy dissipation analysis for different scenarios is also done on all the designs and it is observed that the proposed designs dissipate minimum energy thereby making them suitable for ultra-low power designs.

In multinomial logit models, the identifiability of parameter estimates is typically obtained by side constraints that specify one of the response categories as reference category. When parameters are penalized, shrinkage of estimates should not depend on the reference category. In this paper we investigate ridge regression for the multinomial logit model with symmetric side constraints, which yields parameter estimates that are independent of the reference category. In simulation studies the results are compared with the usual maximum likelihood estimates and an application to real data is given.  相似文献

Summary A method for the microdetermination of copper, cobalt and nickel from a mixture containing 40 metal ions by circular thin-layer Chromatographic technique is described. The procedure is simple; the chromatoplate takes about 2 minutes for its development and other metal ions do not interfere with the determination. The recovery of copper, cobalt and nickel is better than 98%. The apparatus for the concentration of test solution before TLC analysis is also described.
Zusammenfassung Die Mikrobestimmung von Kupfer, Kobalt und Nickel in Gemischen von 40 verschiedenen Metallionen im Wege der zirkulären Dünnschichtchromatographie wurde beschrieben. Die Vorgangsweise ist einfach; die Entwicklung der Chromatogramme erfordert 2 Minuten, fremde Metallionen stören nicht. Die Ausbeute an Kupfer, Kobalt und Nickel ist besser als 98%. Ein Gerät für das Einengen der Probelösung vor der DC-Analyse wurde gleichfalls beschrieben.

Summary A method for microidentification and semiquantitative determination of vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, D2, D3, E, K3, andp-aminobenzoic acid from a single drop of solution using the all glass nichrome wire ring chamber is described. The accuracy is± 5% and the method is selective and rapid and other vitamins do not interfere. The application of the method is demonstrated by the determination of vitamins from commercially available multivitamin tablets and injections.
Zusammenfassung Der Mikronachweis und die semiquantitative Bestimmung der Vitamine A, B1, B2, B6, C, D2, D3, E, K3 und p-Aminobenzoesäure in einem Tropfen Lösung mit Hilfe der aus Glas gefertigten, mit einem Nichromdraht versehenen Ringkammer wurde beschrieben. Die Genauigkeit beträgt ± 5%das Verfahren ist selektiv, andere Vitamine stören nicht. Es wurde an handelsüblichen Multivitamintabletten und -Injektionslösungen erprobt.

Summary A method is described for separation and identification of eight sugars by circular thin layer chromatography. The method is simple and convenient, and separation is complete within 3 minutes. The limit of identification of sugars is very low. The method is specially suitable for routine analysis when quick results are required.
Zusammenfassung Trennung und Nachweis von acht Zuckern durch Dünnschicht-Ringchromatographie wurden beschrieben. Nach diesem einfachen und praktischen Verfahren ist eine Trennung in 3 Minuten fertig. Die Erfassungsgrenze der Zucker liegt niedrig. Besonders im Routinebetrieb, wenn die Ergebnisse rasch benötigt werden, ist die Methode gut geeignet.

In this paper, we analyze the effect of heat transfer on the flow of tangent hyperbolic nanofluid in a ciliated tube (fallopian tube where embryo in blood make the development). This study will be beneficial for the researchers and medical experts in the field of embryology. The nanoparticles are beneficial to remove the cysts from the fallopian tube where development of embryo takes place. To resolves the ciliary flow problems, medical doctors use nanoparticles (drug delivery) that may create a temperature gradient. The heat transfer helps to optimize the energy for which the entropy generation is reduced. Therefore, in this research we discuss the heat transfer effect on tangent hyperbolic nanofluid and entropy generation due to ciliary movement. The governing partial differential equations are solved by HPM and software MATHEMATICA?. Effect of viscoelastic parameter, nanoparticles, cilia length and Brinkman number on the velocity, temperature and entropy generation has been illustrated with the help of graphs. Graphical results show that thermal conductivity of fluid increases by adding nanoparticles. The entropy generation due to nanoparticles will decrease the viscosity near the tube wall and blood through tube will flow with normal pressure.

Asparagus adscendens Roxb. (Asparagaceae), is native to the Himalayas. The present study, for the first time, was undertaken to explore the antimicrobial potential, to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of the methanol extract of the roots of A. adscendens and its solid-phase extraction (SPE) fractions using resazurin microtitre assay against Gram-positive and negative bacterial-registered strains and to carry out HPLC-photodiode array analysis of the SPE fractions. The methanol extract and all SPE exhibited considerable level of antibacterial potential against Gram-positive bacteria (MIC: 2.5–0.009 mg/mL) than against Gram-negative bacteria (MIC: 1.25–2.5 mg/mL). The use of microtitre plates has the advantage of lower cost, fast and quantitative results. Like other Asparagus species, the presence of phenolic compounds in all SPE fractions was evident in the HPLC-PDA data.  相似文献
