Composite thin films of PbTiO3 nanocrystals and high-transparency PEKc polymer for applications in electro-optical devices were prepared using the spin
coating technique. The size of the PbTiO3 nanocrystals was estimated to be 30–40 nm using a transmission electron microscope. The transmission technique, a simple
method for measuring the electro-optic coefficients of poled composite polymer films was developed. The electro-optic coefficient
γ33 of poled PbTiO3/PEKc composite polymer films was measured to be 18.34 pm V-1 at 633 nm under room temperature. The index at 633 nm and the dielectric constant at 100 kHz under room temperature were
determined to be 1.65248 and 7.32, respectively. The figure of merit F2=n7γ2/ε was estimated to be 1546, showing very good electro-optical properties.

The effect of nitrogen surface doping on the electron field emission characteristics of hydrogenated amorphous carbon films was studied. It was found that the emission threshold electric field decreased after nitrogen surface doping which indicated the reduction of the emission barrier at the film surface. It was demonstrated that this improvement arose from the decrease of the effective work function due to the formation of a dipole layer induced by chemical termination and chemical structural change on the film surface. The consequence of dynamical mass generation on the singularity structure of propagators is discussed. First the phenomena
of dynamical mass generation is discussed in the framework of Euclidean gap equations, then a possible Minkowski solution
is looked for. The examples are reviewed and studied for several models: Yukawa, QED, QCD and Wess-Zumino. It is argued that

Optical properties for ZnO thin films grown on (100) γ-LiAlO2 (LAO) substrate by pulsed laser deposition method were investigated. The c-axis oriented ZnO films were grown on (100) γ-LiAlO2 substrates at the substrate temperature of 550 C. The transmittance of the films was over 85%. Peaks attributed to excitons were shown in absorption spectra, which indicated that thin films had high crystallinity. Photoluminescence spectra with the maximum peak at 540 nm were observed at room temperature, which seemed to be ascribed to oxygen vacancy in the ZnO films caused by diffusion of Li from the substrates into the films during the deposition. 相似文献

Mesoscale flame propagation and extinction of premixed flames in channels are investigated theoretically and experimentally. Emphasis is placed on the effect of wall heat loss and the wall–flame interaction via heat recirculation. At first, an analytical solution of flame speed in mesoscale channels is obtained. The results showed that channel width, flow velocity, and wall thermal properties have dramatic effects on the flame propagation and lead to multiple flame regimes and extinction limits. With the decrease in channel width, there exist two distinct flame regimes, a fast burning regime and a slow burning regime. The existence of the new flame regime and its extended flammability limit render the classical quenching diameter inapplicable. Furthermore, the results showed that at optimum conditions of flow velocity and wall thermal properties, mesoscale flames can propagate faster than the adiabatic flame. Second, numerical simulation with detailed chemistry demonstrated the existence of multiple flame regimes. The results also showed that there is a non-linear dependence of the flame speed on equivalence ratio. Moreover, it is shown that the Nusselt number has a significant impact on this non-linear dependence. Finally, the non-linear dependence of flame speed on equivalence ratio for both flame regimes is measured using a C3H8–air mixture. Magnetization reversal processes by a switching field in single-domain nano-sized magnetic particles in the presence of a small transverse non-static bias field are studied. Applying an oscillating bias field instead of a static field, the reversal time becomes much shorter when the switching field is slightly stronger than the effective anisotropy field. A pulsed bias field of a suitably chosen duration in the nanosecond scale is found to induce a rapid switching, even when the switching field is smaller than the anisotropy field. The dependence of the reversal time on the frequency of an oscillating bias field and the duration of a pulsed bias field are studied. The present work thus complement the earlier studies on switching in the presence of a static bias field. 相似文献

Synthesis of Nanoscale Bimetallic Particles in Polyelectrolyte Membrane Matrix for Reductive Transformation of Halogenated Organic Compounds 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Nanosized Fe/Ni and Fe/Pd particles were synthesized in the polyacrylic acid (PAA)/polyether sulfone (PES) composite membrane matrix for reductive transformation of halogenated organic compounds (HOCs). The advantages of using membrane to immobilize nanoparticles are the reduction of particles loss, prevention of particles agglomeration, and potential application of convective flow. Cross-linked PAA/PES composite membranes containing metal ions as particles precursor were prepared by heat treatment with ethylene glycol (EG) as a cross-linking agent. Nanoscale metal particles were formed and immobilized inside the membrane matrix after reduction with sodium borohydride. Membrane morphology and structure were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Particle size and distribution were characterized by SEM and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) was used to obtain the qualitative and quantitative element information of particles. A specimen-drift-free EDS line profile and EDS mapping system was performed in a scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) to determine the two-dimensional element distribution of iron and nickel in the nano domain. In the dechlorination study with trichloroethylene (TCE) as a representative HOCs, rapid and complete destruction of TCE was achieved by using nanosized bimetallic Fe/Ni or Fe/Pd in PAA/PES composite membranes. Typically more than 95% of 10 mg/l TCE was reduced within 1 h. Ethane was found in the headspace as the main product. 相似文献
