A novel hexapeptide was functionalized at the N-terminus by a lipoyl group for binding to gold substrates. Owing to the high content of α-aminoisobutyric acid residues, the peptide adopts a rigid helical conformation despite the shortness of its main chain. Binding of the peptide to gold was investigated by quartz crystal microbalance, cyclic voltammetry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and scanning tunneling microscopy under ultra-high vacuum conditions. Scanning tunneling microscopy experiments revealed that the peculiar self-assembly properties of this short helical peptide determine the complex morphology of the monolayer, showing ‘stripes’, i.e. peptide aggregates horizontally layered on the gold surface, and ‘holes’, i.e. Au vacancy islands coated by the peptide monolayer.  相似文献

In this work, we compare experimental results to molecular simulation results of volatile organic compound (VOC) adsorption on nonporous silica. We adopted an effective model for the rough solid surface, obtained by a temperature annealing scheme, plus an experimental/simulation nitrogen adsorption tuning process over the silica energetic oxygen parameter. The measurement/prediction of selected VOCs, specifically, n-pentane and methylcyclohexane, is presented in terms of adsorption isotherms, with an emphasis on the angle distribution analysis of the three studied probe molecules with respect to the same modeled surface.  相似文献

Novel stimuli‐responsive hydrophilic microspheres were prepared by free radical polymerization of hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and methacrylic acid (MA), as hydrophilic monomers, and N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) and N,N′‐ethylenebisacrylamide (EBA), as thermo‐sensitive monomer and crosslinker, respectively. Hydrophilic comonomers were introduced in the macromolecular network to synthesize materials with tunable thermal behavior. In addition, by introducing in the polymerization feed both a hydrophilic and a pH‐sensitive monomer, such as MA, dual stimuli‐responsive (pH and temperature) hydrogels were synthesized. The incorporation of monomers in the network was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy, while the network density and the shape of hydrogels was found to strictly depend on the concentration of monomers in the polymerization feed. Thermal analyses showed negative thermo‐responsive behavior with pronounced water affinity of microspheres at a temperature lower than lower critical solution temperature (LCST). In our experiment, the LCST values of the hydrogels were in the range 34.6–37.5°C, close to the body temperature, and the amount of hydrophilic moieties in the polymeric network allows to collect shrinking/swelling transition temperatures higher than the LCST of NIPAAm homopolymers. In order to test the preformed materials as drug carriers, diclofenac diethylammonium salt (DDA) was chosen and drug entrapment percent was determined. Drug release profiles, in media at different temperature and pH, depend on hydrogels crosslinking degree and drug–bead interactions. Ketoreductase enzymes are responsible for the generation of hydroxyl stereocentres during the biosynthesis of complex polyketide natural products. Previous studies of isolated polyketide ketoreductases have shown that the stereospecificity of ketoreduction can be switched by mutagenesis of selected active site amino acids. We show here that in the context of the intact polyketide synthase multienzyme the same changes do not alter the stereochemical outcome in the same way. These findings point towards additional factors that govern ketoreductase stereospecificity on intact multienzymes in vivo.  相似文献

Gold(I) complexes bearing N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) of the type (NHC)AuBr (3a/3b) [NHC = 1-methyl-3-benzylimidazol-2-ylidene (= MeBnIm), and 1,3-dibenzylimidazol-2-ylidene (= Bn(2)Im)] are prepared by transmetallation reactions of (tht)AuBr (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) and (NHC)AgBr (2a/2b). The homoleptic, ionic complexes [(NHC)(2)Au]Br (6a/6b) are synthesized by the reaction with free carbene. Successive oxidation of 3a/3b and 6a/6b with bromine gave the respective (NHC)AuBr(3) (4a/4b) and [(NHC)(2)AuBr(2)]Br (7a/7b) in good overall yields as yellow powders. All complexes were characterized by NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Reactions of the Au(III) complexes towards anionic ligands like carboxylates, phenolates and thiophenolates were investigated and result in a complete or partial reduction to a Au(I) complex. Irradiation of the Au(III) complexes with UV light yield the Au(I) congeners in a clean photo-reaction.  相似文献

A selective extraction technique based on the combination of membrane assisted solvent extraction and molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction for triazine herbicides in food samples was developed. Simazine, atrazine, prometon, terbumeton, terbuthylazine and prometryn were extracted from aqueous food samples into a hydrophobic polypropylene membrane bag containing 1000μL of toluene as the acceptor phase along with 100mg of MIP particles. In the acceptor phase, the compounds were re-extracted onto MIP particles. The extraction technique was optimised for the type of organic acceptor solvent, amount of molecularly imprinted polymers particles in the organic acceptor phase, extraction time and addition of salt. Toluene as the acceptor phase was found to give higher triazine binding onto MIP particles compared to hexane and cyclohexane. Extraction time of 120min and 100mg of MIP were found to be optimum parameters. Addition of salt increased the extraction efficiency for more polar triazines. The selectivity of the technique was demonstrated by extracting spiked cow pea and corn extracts where clean chromatograms were obtained compared to only membrane assisted solvent extraction or only molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction. The study revealed that this combination may be a simple way of selectively extracting compounds in complex samples.  相似文献

The paramagnetic ansa-niobocene [(Me2Si)25-C5H4)2NbCl2] (1) was obtained from the reaction of Li2[(Me2Si)2(C5H4)2] with [NbCl4(thf)2]. Further treatment with Li[AlH4] yielded [(Me2Si)25-C5H4)2NbH3] (3), which is prone to decomposition within a few days at room temperature both in solution and in the solid-state, thus affording primarily an insoluble black material. However, after heating or irradiation of a solution of 3 small quantities of the dimeric niobium hydride species, [(Me2Si)2{μ-(η15-C5H3)}(η5-C5H4)NbH]2 (4), were isolated and characterized by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献
