Using ab initio GIAO calculations the experimental 1H NMR spectra of the E and Z isomers of alkyl phenyl ketone phenylhydrazones R1-C(Ph) = N-NH-Ph (R1 = Me, Et, iPr, and tBu) have been re-interpreted and deviations from Karabatsos' rule or from the assignment of Bellamy and Hunter have been discussed in the light of the optimized geometrical structures.  相似文献

The dielectric loss measurements of different polystyrenes (fractions and blends) with different molecular weights (M n 2000–125000 g/mol) were carried out in the frequency range 10–2–106 Hz and the temperature range of the glass process (60°–135°C, depending on the molecular weight). The measurements of the pure fractions showed that the half-width of the glass relaxation process of the different polystyrenes can be correlated by a straight line, if they are plotted versus the relaxation frequency maxima of the glass process, regardless of the difference in both their molecular weight and glass transition temperature. Moreover, the fine structure of the shape of the glass process of polystyrenes with different molecular weights was found to be the same when the glass process appears at the same relaxation frequency range. The addition of oligostyrenes or low molecular <10% wt additives to the high molecular weight polystyrene did not influence the shape of the glass process. The calorimetric glass transition temperature of polystyrene was found to be only dependent on the number average molecular weight as well as on the number of end groups, but not on the molecular weight distribution. The obtained experimental results were correlated to develop a method for the estimation of the dielectric relaxation characteristics (relaxation frequency as well as the shape parameters) of the glass process of plasticized polystyrenes based on the calorimetric glass transition temperature. A method for the analysis of the dielectric relaxation curves of mixtures of label and polymer is suggested.  相似文献

The mechanism for the deamination of guanine with H(2)O, OH(-), H(2)O/OH(-) and for GuaH(+) with H(2)O has been investigated using ab initio calculations. Optimized geometries of the reactants, transition states, intermediates, and products were determined at RHF/6-31G(d), MP2/6-31G(d), B3LYP/6-31G(d), and B3LYP/6-31+G(d) levels of theory. Energies were also determined at G3MP2, G3MP2B3, G4MP2, and CBS-QB3 levels of theory. Intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) calculations were performed to characterize the transition states on the potential energy surface. Thermodynamic properties (ΔE, ΔH, and ΔG), activation energies, enthalpies, and Gibbs free energies of activation were also calculated for each reaction investigated. All pathways yield an initial tetrahedral intermediate and an intermediate in the last step that dissociates to products via a 1,3-proton shift. At the G3MP2 level of theory, deamination with OH(-) was found to have an activation energy barrier of 155 kJ mol(-1) compared to 187 kJ mol(-1) for the reaction with H(2)O and 243 kJ mol(-1) for GuaH(+) with H(2)O. The lowest overall activation energy, 144 kJ mol(-1) at the G3MP2 level, was obtained for the deamination of guanine with H(2)O/OH(-). Due to a lack of experimental results for guanine deamination, a comparison is made with those of cytosine, whose deamination reaction parallels that of guanine.  相似文献

The reactions of Cu (II), Zn (II) and Cd (II) chloride or bromide with (E)-1-(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene)-4-methylthiosemicarbazone (MTSVT) lead to the formation of new complexes. They were characterized by spectroscopic studies: IR, 1H and 13C NMR. The crystal structures of the compounds [MTSVT] ( L ), [ZnBr2(MTSVT)2] ( 2 ), [CdCl2(MTSVT)2] ( 3 ) and [CdBr2(MTSVT)2.H2O] ( 4 ) were determined by X-ray diffraction. For complexes 2 – 4 , the ion is coordinated through the sulfur atom. All compounds were tested for their antifungal activity against human pathogenic fungi Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus, and for their antibacterial activity against Gram (+) Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecalis as well as against Gram (−) bacteria such as Paracoccus yeei and Acinetobacter baumanii. The results indicated that the metal complexes exhibited a marked enhancement in antibacterial activity compared with the parent Schiff base.  相似文献

The degradability and durability for polymer–nanocomposites under various environmental conditions are from the essential fields of research. This study was carried out to examine the thermal stability of polystyrene loaded by carbon (C) nanoparticles up to 20 wt% content. The thermal degradation of PS/C nanocomposites were studied by thermogravimetry analysis and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) under non-isothermal condition and inert gas atmosphere at constant heating rate 10 °C min?1. The variation of degradation characteristic temperatures as a function of C content has been a non-monotonic behavior. The obtained results suggested that the C nanoparticles act as a promoter slowing down the degradation and providing a protective barrier to the nanocomposite, except 5 wt% C content. The latter exception was confirmed by DSC curve through the emergence of a small endothermic peak before the fundamental endothermic, melting, one.  相似文献

A series of poly(cyclohexylethylene‐b‐ethylene‐co‐ethylethylene) (C‐E/EE) diblock copolymers containing approximately 50% by volume glassy C blocks and varying fraction (x) of EE repeat units, 0.07 ≤ x ≤ 0.90, was synthesized by anionic polymerization and catalytic hydrogenation. The effects of ethyl branch content on the melt state segment–segment (χ) interaction parameter and soft (E/EE) block crystallinity were studied. The percent crystallinity ranged from approximately 30% at x = 0.07 to 0% at about x ≥ 0.30, while the melting temperature changed from 101 °C at x = 0.07 to 44 °C at x = 0.28. Dynamic mechanical spectroscopy was employed to determine the order–disorder transition (ODT) temperatures, from which χ was calculated assuming the mean‐field prediction (χNn)ODT = 10.5. Previously published results for the temperature dependent binary interaction parameters for C‐E (x = 0.07), C‐EE (x = 0.90), and E‐EE (x = 0.07 and x = 0.90) fail to account for the quantitative x dependence of χ, based on a simple binary interaction model. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The potential energy surface for the unimolecular decomposition of thiophenol (C(6)H(5)SH) is mapped out at two theoretical levels; BB1K/GTlarge and QCISD(T)/6-311+G(2d,p)//MP2/6-31G(d,p). Calculated reaction rate constants at the high pressure limit indicate that the major initial channel is the formation of C(6)H(6)S at all temperatures. Above 1000 K, the contribution from direct fission of the S-H bond becomes important. Other decomposition channels, including expulsion of H(2) and H(2)S are of negligible importance. The formation of C(6)H(6)S is predicted to be strong-pressure dependent above 900 K. Further decomposition of C(6)H(6)S produces CS and C(5)H(6). Overall, despite the significant difference in bond dissociation, i.e., 8-9 kcal/mol between the S-H bond in thiophenol and the O-H bond in phenol, H migration at the ortho position in the two molecules represents the most accessible initial channel.  相似文献

An ion-exclusion chromatography (IELC) comparison between a conventional ion-exchange column and an ultra high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) dynamically surfactant modified C18 column for the separation of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and two aromatic carboxylic acids is presented. Professional software is used to optimize the conventional IELC separation conditions for acetylsalicylic acid and the hydrolysis products: salicylic acid and acetic acid. Four different variables are simultaneously optimized including H2SO4 concentration, pH, flow rate, and sample injection volume. Thirty different runs are suggested by the software. The resolutions and the time of each run are calculated and feed back to the software to predict the optimum conditions. Derringer’s desirability functions are used to evaluate the test conditions and those with the highest desirability value are utilized to separate acetylsalicylic acid, salicylic acid, and acetic acid. These conditions include using a 0.35 mM H2SO4 (pH 3.93) eluent at a flow rate of 1 mL min−1 and an injection volume of 72 μL. To decrease the run time and improve the performance, a UHPLC C18 column is used after dynamic modification with sodium dodecyl sulfate. Using pure water as a mobile phase, a shorter analysis time and better resolution are achieved. In addition, the elution order is different from the IELC method which indicates the contribution of the reversed-phase mode to the separation mechanism.

Chemical composition, antioxidant, anticancer, and antimacrobial activities of essential oil obtained from leaves of Rumex nervosus has been evaluated here for the first time. GC/MS analysis reveals the presence of Palmitoleic Acid (28.35%) and Palmitic acid, (25. 37%) as their methyl ester as major components. The essential oil showed significant DPPH radical scavenging activity (94.907 ± 0.1089% and 94.003 ± 0.0749%) at concentration (100 and 80) μg/mL respectively. The oil showed promising activity against staph aureus, while showed weak activity against (Hela and 3T3) cell lines. The crude extract / fractions of R. nervosus (leaves) showed significant antioxidant activity at dose (100 and 80) μg/mL. Futhermore the crude showed significant activity against (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231) cell lines with IC50 (20.5138 ± 0.933 and 25.1728 ± 0.9176) μg/mL respectively, and chloroform fraction showed good activity against (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231) cell lines with IC50 (31.154 ± 0.965 and 42.269 ± 2.1045) μg/mL.  相似文献

Abstract

The lignin fractions isolated by one- and multistage soda and sulfate cookings showed almost identical IR spectra, indicating the similarity of the lignin skeletal structure throughout the plant. However, the absorbances reveal some differences. Similarity of the spectra includes: 1) chelation and bonding of the hydroxyl groups. 2) Stretching vibration of C-H bonds in methyl, methoxyl, and methylene groups. 3) Stretching vibration of C≡N. 4) Carbonyl unconjugated β-ketone, conjugated acids, or esters at 1725 cm?1. There is no change in the intensity of absorption at this band from that at 1515 cm?1 with the cooking stage. 5) Aromatic skeletal vibration at 1610 and 1515 cm?1, affected by ring substituents at 1425 cm?1. 6) The band at 1465 cm?1 showed a higher intensity for soda and soluble kraft lignins than for insoluble kraft ones. 7) The band at 1370 cm?1, assigned to phenolic OH bending, is affected by the methoxyl group. 8) The absence of condensed guaiacyl and the presence of syringyl and uncondensed guaiacyl. Assignments for hardwood lignin are shown for soda and soluble kraft lignins of bagasse, while those for softwood lignin are shown for soda, soluble, and insoluble kraft lignins of Ricinus communis and for insoluble kraft lignin of bagasse. A relation exists between the carbohydrate's lignin and the band at 920 cm?1. Lignins from Ricinus communis are of higher guaiacyl to syringyl ratios than those from bagasse. The presence of C—S vibration and the absence of thiol groups for kraft lignins are indicated.  相似文献
