Current discovery demonstrates the rapid formation of gold nanoparticles with guavanoic acid a phytochemical of Psidium guajava (Pg). The pharmacological capabilities of the phytochemicals present in the leaves of Pg and their ability to generate gold nanoparticles is presented herein. The new genre of green nanoparticles exhibit remarkable Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B (PTP 1B) inhibitory activity and in vitro stability in various physiological medium including saline, histidine, cysteine, bovine serum albumin (BSA), human serum albumin (HSA) and buffers (pH 5, 7 and 9). It is predicted that this new technology will be felt greatly in several routes of pharmaceuticals.  相似文献

Photocurrent measurements have been undertaken on bulk As40Te60-xInx glasses of different compositions. It has been found that the photocurrent increases with illumination, which can probably be understood on the basis of the large dielectric constant of these materials and also due to the presence of a larger number of positive defect states. Further, the composition dependence of the conductivity activation energy and the photosensitivity exhibit a maximum at x=12.5(〈r〉=2.65) and a minimum at x=15(〈r〉=2.70). Earlier investigations on As-Te-In glasses, such as high-pressure resistivity behavior, electrical switching, etc., have identified the compositions x=12.5 and x=15 as the rigidity percolation threshold (RPT) and the chemical threshold (CT) respectively. Based on this, the maximum and the minimum seen in activation energy and photosensitivity of As40Te60-xInx glasses at x=12.5 and x=15 can be attributed to RPT and CT respectively. Nanocrystalline Cd-doped ZnO has been obtained by hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectrum, high resolution scanning electron micrographs and UV–visible diffuse reflectance, photoluminescence and electrochemical impedance spectra. Cd-doping by hydrothermal method decreases the grain size and destroys the microstructure. Although doping does not modify the band gap it suppresses the deep level emission, decreases the charge-transfer resistance and increases the capacitance. Cd-doping enhances the photocatalytic and bactericidal activities.  相似文献

The reaction of a SiC/C composite powder in an arcing plasma forms carbon nanotubes in good yield. Besides carbon nanotubes, a Si/C composite composed of β SiC covered with a shell of graphite is formed. The graphitic carbon surface layers of the carbon shell of this composite reacts further to form carbon nanotubes when heated to 600 °C. This process seems highly effective since only a small overall low weight loss, indicative for a complete carbon shell oxidation is observed by thermal analysis. The formation of the carbon nanotubes from SiC is unlikely since no SiO2 has been found when heating the SiC/C core shell composite to its reaction temperature of 600 °C under O2. The CNTs formed are of good quality with 3 to 6 concentric walls and high aspect ratio. Occasionally even single walled carbon naotubes have been observed.  相似文献

The conducting polymer polypyrrole thin film was galvanostatically polymerized on stainless steel substrate for the supercapacitor electrode. The electrochemical stability of the electrode was monitored each 30 days of aging up to 90 days. The FTIR analysis showed an increase in intensity of the absorption peaks, especially high growth of the carbonyl peaks after 90 days of aging. The electrochemical capacitance degradation of the electrode was studied using cyclic voltammetric and galvanostatic charge/discharge analysis in 1 M Na2SO4 electrolyte, which showed ~?53% of fading in the initial specific capacitance value after 90 days. Further, the electrochemical degradation of polypyrrole electrodes was analyzed in detail using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The analysis showed a large increase in the internal resistance and low-power deliverability of the electrode with respect to aging as the main reasons for the degradation of specific capacitance of the polypyrrole electrode.  相似文献

A poly (vinyl alcohol) PVA/Eriochrome Black-T (EBT) dye, and PVA/Eosin-Y (EY) dye composite film was prepared using a solution casting process. The dye-doped composite polymer films were characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy. An optical band gap (Eg) of pure PVA reduced from 4.22?eV to 2.80?eV for PVA/EBT film and 2.14?eV for PVA/EY film respectively. This result indicates the occurrence of inter-molecular hydrogen bonding between the –OH functional group in PVA chains and sulfonate (EBT) and carboxyl group (EY) in dye molecules, respectively. Moreover, the experimental result of PVA/EBT and PVA/EY composite film showed the excellent properties of a large scale cut-off filter in the ultraviolet and visible range region.  相似文献

Recently, polymer nanocomposites can offer to enhance the tremendous development of reinforcements and broaden their use in feasible applications. The polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer based bio-nanocomposite film reinforced with different amount of Eleusine Coracana (EC) particles from 5 to 25?wt% were prepared by the solution cast. The bio-nanocomposite (PVA/EC) film was characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) is used to estimate the thermal degradation of polymer bio-nanocomposites. From the Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) analysis, the surface roughness of the (PVA/EC) film was analyzed.  相似文献

A simple methodology has been developed for the solid phase extraction of lead based on the adsorption of its diphenylthiocarbazone complex on an Amberlite XAD-1180 column. The effect of various parameters such as eluting agents, stability of the column, sample volume, interfering ions, etc. were studied in detail. The adsorbed complex could be eluted using acetone and the concentration of lead was determined using visible spectrophotometry at a wavelength maximum of 486nm. A detection limit of 3.5microgL(-1) could be achieved and the validity of the proposed method was checked in spiked tap water, well water and industrial wastewater samples. The relative standard deviation of the method was found to be 3.0%. The highest preconcentration factor attainable for quantitative recovery (>95%) of lead was 25 for a 250mL sample volume.  相似文献

2,4-Dinitrophynylhydrazine and two thiocyanate ions in a (M:L1:L2) 1:2:2 molar ratio was synthesized in the complexes of Co(II) and Ni(II). The prepared compounds were identified through a C.H.N.S. analysis, conductivity measurements, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), the infrared spectrum, and a UV-visible spectrum analysis, in addition to the magnetic properties being measured. The measurements of the molar conductance implieda nonelectrolytic nature of compounds Co(II) and Ni(II). The magnetic susceptibility, as well as electronic spectra, represented all the metal complexesthroughoctahedral geometry, respectively. The PXRD patterns suggested that all the complexes were an orthorhombic system with unit cell parameters. The in-vitro biological activity of the ligand and the metal complexes were screened against the Gram-positive and negative pathogenic bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas, aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, as well as the fungal species of Aspergillusniger and Candida albicans.Thus, the metal complexes showeda high efficiency of antimicrobial activity compared with the ligand. Furthermore, applications of the ligand, as well as the metal complexes, were tested for in-vitro antioxidant potential in aDPPH assay. The results showed that the activity of the metal complexes with the in-vitro antioxidant was more active than that of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine(DNPH).  相似文献
