The emission of radiation from relativistic positrons moving in the 〈110〉 axial channels of an f.c.c. (diamond) crystal has
been studied. An expression for the radiation intensity has been obtained for the general case of positron motion. This expression

In this paper, the second order statistics of post buckling response of functionally graded materials plate (FGM) subjected to mechanical and thermal loading with nonuniform temperature changes subjected to temperature independent (TID) and dependent (TD) material properties is examined. Material properties such as material properties of each constituent’s materials, volume fraction index are taken as independent random input variables. The basic formulation is based on higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) with von-Karman nonlinear kinematic using modified C0 continuity. A direct iterative based C0 nonlinear finite element method (FEM) combined with mean centered first order perturbation technique (FOPT) proposed by last two authors for the composite plate is extended for Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) plate with reasonable accuracy to compute the second order statistics (mean and coefficient of variation) of the post buckling load response of the FGM plates. The effect of random material properties with amplitude ratios, volume fraction index, plate thickness ratios, aspect ratios, boundary conditions and types of loadings subjected to TID and TD material properties are presented through numerical examples. The performance of outlined present approach is validated with the results available in literatures and independent Monte Carlo simulation (MCS). 相似文献

A spectrophotometric method for the determination of palladium, iron and tellurium from nitric acid media after extraction of their p-[4-(3,5-dimethylisoxazolyl)azophenylazo]calix(4)arene [DMIAPAC] complexes has been developed and possible synergistic effects have been investigated. Chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, cyclohexane, 1,2-dichloroethane, toluene and xylene were used as the diluents. The maximum enhancement was obtained in the presence of 30% 1,2-dichloroethane. The trace amounts of metals were determined spectrophotometrically. Beer’s law obeyed in the concentration range of 5.0–95.0 μg, 8.0–120.0 μg and 10.0–140.0 μg/10 mL of the final solution of palladium, iron and tellurium, respectively. The molar absorptivities (l mol?1cm?1) and Sandell’s sensitivities (μg cm ?1) were calculated: Pd(II) = 1.73 × 104 and 0.0061; Fe(III) = 1.08 × 104 and 0.0052; Te(IV) = 1.67 × 104 and 0.0077. Ten replicate analyses containing 20 μg of Pd(II), 12.5 μg of Fe(III) and 32 μg of Te(IV) gave mean absorbance of 0.326, 0.242 and 0.418 with relative standard deviation of 0.36, 0.65 and 0.82% for Pd(II), Fe(III) and Te(IV), respectively. Earlier work by Lindenbaum and Boyd has demonstrated the important role of hydrophobic interactions involving the water solvent in determining the osmotic coefficients and properties of aqueous solutions of the tetraalkylammonium halides. Osmotic coefficients of solutions of tetramethyl-, tetraethyl-, tetrapropyl-, and tetrabutylammonium bromides in the more highly structured solvent D2O have now been determined by the gravimetric isopiestic method, using reference solutions of NaCl in D2O. The data were fitted to the Rush-Johnson and Pitzer equations. Satisfactory agreement with the results for aqueous solutions at comparable concentrations indicates that the solution chemistry of these quaternary ammonium bromides is not highly dependent on the degree of structure of the pure solvents. Supplementary data for mixtures of Me4NBr with Et4NBr, Pr4NBr, or Bu4NBr in both H2O and D2O are consistent with this conclusion.On leave 1980–82 from Banaras Hindu University, India 相似文献

The essential oil of Premna latifolia Roxb. was obtained by hydrodistillation of fresh leaves of the plant having an oil yield of 0.05%, both non-polar and essential oil were analysed by GC and GC-MS. Hexane fraction of the leaves of P. latifolia was transesterified and analysed by GC and GC-MS, 40 non-polar components were identified comprising 89.3%. The most abundant fatty acid constituents were hexadecanoic acid (25.04%), 8,11,14-docosatrienoic acid (13.62%), octadecanoic acid (6.82%), 9,12-octadecadienoic acid (4.19%) and 29 components were investigated in the essential oil which comprises 78.1%. The most abundant oil constituents were 1-octen-3-ol (35.69%), terpendiol II (7.19%), δ-guaiene (7.49%) 2-undecanone (4.80%) and α-pinene (3.27%). Different extracts were also tested against polyphagous crop pest Spodoptera litura for antifeedant activity. The three-phase (vapour + liquid + solid) equilibrium conditions for semi-clathrates formed from three mixtures of (CO2 + N2), in aqueous solutions of tetra-butyl ammonium bromide (TBAB), were measured in an isochoric reactor. The experiments were conducted at temperatures between (281 and 290) K, at pressures between (1.9 and 5.9) MPa and in aqueous TBAB solutions of wTBAB = (0.05, 0.10, and 0.20). The experimental results obtained in this study were compared with previously obtained results for gas hydrates, formed from the same three mixtures of (CO2 + N2) and it was observed that semi-clathrates formed at a substantially lower pressure than did gas hydrates. 相似文献

Summary A nitrate-selective electrode based on precipitated nitron nitrate in an epoxy resin matrix has been prepared. The lower detection limit is 10–5
M, the optimum pH range is 2.0–8.5, and the response time is 1 min. The electrode is selective in presence of CH3COO–, SO4
2–, C2O4
2–, PO4
3–, NO2
–, Cl– and Br–, but I– interferes. Results for nitrate in soil samples were in agreement with values obtained spectrophotometrically.

Zusammenfassung Eine nitrat-spezifische Elektrode auf der Basis gefällten Nitronnitrats in einer Epoxyharz-Matrix wurde hergestellt. Die untere Nachweisgrenze ist 10–5 M, das pH-Optimum liegt zwischen 2,0 und 8,5, die Reaktionszeit beträgt 1 Minute. Die Elektrode ist selektiv in Gegenwart von Acetat, Sulfat, Oxalat, Phosphat, Nitrit, Chlorid und Bromid; aber Jodid stört. Ergebnisse der Nitratbestimmung in Bodenproben stimmen mit spektrophotometrischen Resultaten überein.

A direct radioimmunoassay for the measurement of progesterone in human serum is described. Progesterone 11-hemisuccinate was conjugated to tyrosine methyl ester (TME) by the mix anhydride method and then iodinated using chloramine-T. The radiochemical purity of different batches of125I-progesterone was greater than 95% and showed 70–75% binding with excess antibody. Progesterone 11-hemisuccinate was coupled with BSA and injected to rabits. Antisera collected after three booster injections and having aK value of 1·1091/M was selected for the assay. Significant reduction in binding with antibody was seen when hormone free serum was used in the assay system. Various blocking agents were tried to reduce the serum effects and none of them were found satisfactory. From a series of optimization experiments, an assay was developed without the use of blocking agents. This assay used a much higher concentration of antibody along with lower amount of serum sample (50 l). The optimized assay has a sensitivity of 0.5 nj/ml and a working range of 0.5 to 100 ng/ml. Serum samples were analyzed analysis showed good correlation between the results obtained from the present system and the DPC kit. (Y=0.93X+0.5,r=0.93, forn=25). 相似文献
