In this paper we study the geometric numerical solution of the so called “good” Boussinesq equation. This goal is achieved by using a convenient space semi‐discretization, able to preserve the corresponding Hamiltonian structure, then using energy‐conserving Runge–Kutta methods in the Hamiltonian boundary value method class for the time integration. Numerical tests are reported, confirming the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

We consider a 3D Approximate Deconvolution Model ADM which belongs to the class of Large Eddy Simulation (LES) models. We aim at proving that the solution of the ADM converges towards a dissipative solution of the mean Navier–Stokes equations. The study holds for periodic boundary conditions. The convolution filter we first consider is the Helmholtz filter. We next consider generalized convolution filters for which the convergence property still holds.  相似文献

We study the stability properties of the class of weak*-extensible spaces introduced by Wang, Zhao, and Qiang showing, among other things, that weak*-extensibility is equivalent to having a weak*-sequentially continuous dual ball (in short, w*SC) for duals of separable spaces or twisted sums of w*SC spaces. This shows that weak*-extensibility is not a 33-space property, solving a question posed by Wang, Zhao, and Qiang. We also introduce a restricted form of weak*-extensibility, called separable weak*-extensibility, and show that separably weak*-extensible Banach spaces have the Gelfand–Phillips property, although they are not necessarily w*SC spaces.  相似文献

We show that if velocity and vorticity are orthogonal at each point (and they become orthogonal fast enough) then solutions of the 3D Navier–Stokes equations are smooth. In this paper we consider an isotropic variant of the BMO‐type norm recently introduced (Bourgain, Brezis, and Mironescu, 2015). We prove that, when considering characteristic functions of sets, this norm is related to the perimeter.
